Other people I met yesterday.

Brian Topp,We met in his campaign headquarters.I went to look for him there when voting for the floor was closed(final ballot) and he was at his desk by himself in the back corner texting.I asked him about bil C-377 and he came right out to tell me he was not imformed.Overall he was pleasant when we talked but he did not immpress me.However I should not look too much into this because this was durring the final ballot between him and Mulcair. He must have had a tremendous amount of pressure.

Don Martin from CTV news,we met on the floor.I did a brief televised interview for him and CTV news about the delays during the third ballot. He is a very good man and a has a good balance between profensionalism and relaxed approachs(sorry this is the best way I can articulate his style at this time)!I was very suprised by him and it would be my pleasure to speak with him again!Aswell I will follow him more now on CTV!

Oh and I forgot to mention Steven Paikin from TVO.He was in a rush and tried to answer a couple of questions but I caught him at a bad time so it would be unfair of me to judge him on this brief meeting

Joe Comartin has been an MP in my hometown for many years. Great guy.

Thank you. There was also another guy I met who is always on "Power and Politics".He is a short guy that supports/works for the NDP.He does good work too! There was just too many people and new names for me to remember and I am sorry if I sound disrespectfull. My appologies.

Yes Joe is a very helpfull individual and he gave me some rare insight into the politics behind the politics!I would definetly be getting the better end of the deal when we meet again!

Shit, I clicked on this thread and my desk tilted left and everything slid off in the direction of Quebec.

Then Patrick Cyril "Sid" Ryan came on TV and everything turned green then red.

Some say Sid's a fool and buffoon, but not I. When he rises to that level I'll concede one or the other.

Actually the convention wasn't bad except for the hacking into the voting process.

I don't feel sorry for the 5th 4th 3rd 2nd place finishers, they're all used to losing anyway.

I can hardly wait for the daggers to come out.

50 + 1...ridiculous position held by the party on separation.

Former NDP leader Ed Broadbent' intervention and remarks will have set up some party divisiveness.

Mulcair's position on pot...http://www.straight.com/article-644236/vancouver/young-liberals-condemn-thomas-mulcairs-position-marijuana-and-war-drugs

On Israel....“…je suis un ardent supporter de toutes les instances et de toutes les circonstances d’Israël.”

Mulcair has even been attacked for an overly friendly position on Israel given that, in the past, the party has spoken most vocally for needy Palestinians.

Many have cited the fact that Mulcair's wife, Catherine Pinhas, is of Turkish-Jewish heritage.

Those opposing his leadership have gone so far as to set up a website, Knowmulcair.ca: "We are active and long-standing members of the NDP... We are concerned that many New Democrats aren't aware of Mr. Mulcair's politics."

The Oil Sands, "Mulcair’s long record as a consistent oil sands industry critic puts him on a collision course with the industry and large chunks of public opinion in Western Canada, according to one analyst."

His temperament and possible schism and war over party political 'modernism' "Clearly, if Mulcair is voted leader, something of a civil war is likely to take place between those NDPers wanting to modernize their party and move it toward the centre, and the die-hard socialists who do not."

All in all it will be fun and games, 'specially once the Quebec M.P' pass away into history.

I decided to do some research on the pot thing because the flavour of your post seems to suggest you have it out for Mulcair, Peeves.. Anyway, it is true that at this time he does not favour decriminalization, but that doesn't mean it is completely out of the question.

In fact he would take some pretty positive steps to look at the possibility:

Instead of blindly pushing for decriminalization, the Quebec MP suggested putting the matter to a royal commission featuring experts in medicine, law and law enforcement.

The ensuing report, he said, would help policy-makers determine what substances should be controlled and what should be "more opened up."

http://www.globalnews.ca/legalizing+pot/6442606293/story.html

This is a fantastic idea that pragmatically begins the process of looking at these substances more objectively.

Also, the Israel thing is completely overblown and I'm sure he is aware that he has a big challenge in the west on the oilsands issue. I wouldn't be surprised if he could make a few concessions to get their vote without upsetting environmentalists.

“Well over 10,000 malevolent IP addresses (computers) have been identified so far, as having generated many hundreds of thousands of false voting requests to the system,” said the company, which is headquartered in Spain.

Scytl Canada said the attackers used computers around the world, but mainly in Canada, to conduct the “distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.”

Essentially I'm posed to have it in for any politician of any cut or culture.

I like to criticize them all, kudos seldom being apropos.

We need the likes of Mulcair to keep a differing perspective and a microscope on the rest.

On the other hand, the likes of a Libby Davies - MP for Vancouver East are beneath my contempt as useless and away over their heads.

Interesting that you would pick this one out?

I can't recall a Majority Liberal Government Decriminalization Pot? I can't recall a Minority Liberal Government doing it? Infact..its never on the Liberals Radar screen.. So I think the Young Liberals doth protest to much.

And from the other side of the Fence.. the Cons want you in jail for pot...

I don't believe Scytl..

Why not? You do realize it isn't very difficult to use 10,000 computer for a bot net attack? You don't have to be a genius to be able to pull that off

I believe its an excuse for Scytl to get off the hook for bad service.

I believe there were 10,000 IP addresses (mainly from Canada) that were trying to access the server.. and likely most of them NDP members....

I think Scytl does not want this to affect their reputation. I don't believe they were up to the task at hand.. and by all media reports... and tweets... there weren't.

Bad PR for them..

Good luck with their defence..

I'm sure Mulcair will change it to remain unelectable

You mean your vote..Which, if I have followed you properly through numerous threads.. you have withdrawn it a half dozen times already lol....

As for as Pot and electability.. they are separate issues.

Decriminalization of Pot is virtually never on the minds of the public.. and its not a vote getter in terms of support. The NDP has held that sole position for over 1 decade and Its not been their position on pot that has earned them votes... and if that were the case.. you would have been voting NDP from Alexa onwards and for Jack , during each and every election.

Fact is.. many of my Conservatives Friends are Pots smokers and they just think they won't get caught and that Harper and the Cons don't really want them to go to jail.

Fact is.. Many of my Liberal Friends are Pots Smokers and have no concerns that the Liberals have not changed the pot laws.

Fact is.. Many NDP and other political Party friends smoke pot and vote for all sorts of different reasons

Fact is.. the other 50% +1 of my friends Smoke Pot and don't vote...

I've never smoked pot, that isn't the point, the point is it's common sense to legalize it, if that isn't common sense to that bearded fool of the NDP then he likely won't be a common sense type leader

Liberals have my vote right now... NDP better show they are socially liberal enough for my vote

With 308 MPs.. you can criticise one per day for 1 year..and have two months holiday.

have fun with that

Hell that ain't nohin, I start at local level, Mayor an such, warm up on provincial, then write the MP's, newspapers and call in shows.

Lotsa movin targets here'bouts in Canada. Mostly waste like G 20- G-8, Ornge, E health, cancelin energy plants, fundin green energy fiascos, gun registry, junior junior tyke schoolin, pensions fer Qubec separatists, buyin used subs, cancellin helicopter contracts,.........no shortage or dearth of targets eh!

'Course it's common sense. Stop pissin away taxes trying to stop use or sale. Won't happen regardless the amount spent. Legalize it, tax it like tobbacky an the natives will control the illegal stuff.

Cops ain't never about ta conquer coke neither.

The Liberals? You think they are going to legalize pot. What dream world do you live in? Your best shot is decriminalization which would be with the NDP.

I find your comments very interesting if not confusing, nor did I suggest you smoke pot.

The Liberals have your vote because... they believe in the continued criminalization of Marijuana?

The Liberals have No intention of Legalizing Marijuana.

You don't smoke it, but you believe in Legalizing it so much you will vote for the party that is against Decriminalizing it let alone Legalize it?

Somehow, I highly doubt your opinion that if "bearded fool" decriminalized Marijuana, you would vote NDP...

So I believe there is more at work here then simply the position of a narcotic and its decriminalization.

Because your "Socially Liberal" position is directly opposed to the position of the Liberal Party Of Canada.
