possibly... Fair Use is an American concept - as I read it, 'Fair Dealing' is the moniker for Canada's policy relative to our more nuanced and less broader exceptions to copyright protection. In that vein, the oft referenced SCC case law refers to s. 29 of the Copyright Act: "fair dealing for the purpose of research or private study". But, uhhh..... as we're continually reminded by one of the foreign MLW interlopers, MLW is hosted at an American/Texas site. Things that make you go, hmmmmm

What's the point of a support and questions forum if there's never going to be any answers or support?

Don't like it...start your own site. We were informed long ago that this web site would not be actively maintained months ago.

Can we enable these?
No. The reason is aesthetic.

Use a link to the image instead of embedding images.

We do not have time for a meeting of the flat earth society.

I have noticed a slowdown when I open threads with lots of YouTube media links on them, like the recent one by Jack Weber. On my laptop I keep a Task Manager running in the background at all times, and notice the CPU runs at 100% for a long time when I load those threads. Would have been better not to allow Media tags, IMO.

The Albertans who run this board have got it right. Keep it text-only, old school. Not change, not progress.

sorry...

So then why allow the videos?

And besides, the website isn't actively maintained any longer, so it's not like the forums need to fit seamlessly with it, as they once did. I'm just chalking this one up to the line that parents use, "No, because I said so." Their forum. Their choice.
