bush_cheney2004 Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 What load of crap! America is built by immigrants.... By your logic or lack of it if the same discrimination applied to jews then nobody should scream oh that's anti semitism. Are you claiming that Jews never paid such dues in America (or Canada)? Who are you kidding? Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
kactus Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) Are you claiming that Jews never paid such dues in America (or Canada)? Who are you kidding? You made the statement that Ddiscrimination is part of US experiment not me. Although I totally disagree with that statement as it's your opinion not a fact. Thankfully we have come a long way since KKK or any other minority racist movements. Any sane immigrant be it a jew or a non jew will feel the hit by discrimination or hate speech shownagainst their whole nation/ race nevermind paying dues. Why should Iranian/ Americans living for decades in the US pay the price for their government? Why should there be a difference between an Iranian living in the US and an Irish or German immigrant? kactus Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 Heck all those persian jews who emigrated to US must be feeling the level of hatred. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 You made the statement that Ddiscrimination is part of US experiment not me. It's true, not just because I made such an obvious statement. Go back and look at some American history with respect to waves of immigrants and their experiences. You just don't get it...the KKK was about far more than just the overt and subtle forms of discrimination that exist to this day in the US and Canada. Why should Iranian/ Americans living for decades in the US pay the price for their government? Why should there be a difference between an Iranian living in the US and an Irish or German immigrant? Because right now it's Iran's turn in the barrel. But don't worry, they won't be sent to internment camps. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
bush_cheney2004 Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 Heck all those persian jews who emigrated to US must be feeling the level of hatred. Maybe...but no more than some Americans feel when they emigrate to Canada! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
DogOnPorch Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 Maybe...but no more than some Americans feel when they emigrate to Canada! Well played. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.
kactus Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 It's true, not just because I made such an obvious statement. Go back and look at some American history with respect to waves of immigrants and their experiences. Countries go through change and learn from their experiences. It doesn't mean that history has to repeat itself... The foundation of the US is based on accepting the change to appreciate and attract talents and encourage a competitive environment. Wherever they come from...Just read your own link you posted here and see what those immigrants have contributed. You just don't get it...the KKK was about far more than just the overt and subtle forms of discrimination that exist to this day in the US and Canada. No, you don't get it. Discrimination against a whole nationality is not subtlety by any stretch of imagination. Maybe in some deranged world.... Because right now it's Iran's turn in the barrel. But don't worry, they won't be sent to internment camps. Pew...For one moment I thought you were running short of sending all iRanians to concentration camps...So much for subtlety. Not! Quote

The concepts are not mutually exclusive..up to and including the Civil War! No, you don't get it. Discrimination against a whole nationality is not subtlety by any stretch of imagination. Maybe in some deranged world.... Now you are just being naive...discrimination exists in many legal and illegal forms. Americans from around the world pay their dues and join the club, you know, like a biker gang in Canada! Pew...For one moment I thought you were running short of sending all iRanians to concentration camps...So much for subtlety. Not! Iran use to be one of America's BFFs...Israel's too. Then there was this hostage thing back in '79 and it was all downhill from there. Fast forward to now, and "Persia" gets to star as the bad guy in 300. See how history repeats itself? Things like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_American#Demography Excerpt: In October 2007, Debra Cagan, a senior Pentagon official, shocked a group of British MPs by saying "I hate all Iranians" [8] With that kind of background makes it no different from the government in Iran. Whilst on the other hand we have this guy a Harvard professor who is afraid of Iranians...It sure tells you about the achievement of these mischievous iRanian immigrants that are doing a bloody good job in the US... In 2009, Martin Kramer, a Harvard professor, warned about the dangers of allowing Iranian Americans to get too close to power during the 2009 American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference:[9] “ ...Iran can have behind the scenes leverage over Iranian Americans, many of whom occupy key positions in the think tanks and are even being brought now into the administration...What this means is that we have to be extremely cautious about what we take away from Iranian diaspora communities when it comes to understanding Iran. bush_cheney2004 Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) 300? Found that entertaining. Big time...very stylized film techniques. You should see it on Blu-Ray. And my gay friends loved it! I am talking about real issues. Things like this: Excerpt: With that kind of background makes it no different from the government in Iran. I seem to recall a Canadian MP making similar statements about hating Americans and stomping on a Dubya doll (Carolyn Parrish). Now do you understand why I like to blowback examples from your own country? Whilst on the other hand we have this guy a Hravard professor who is afraid of Iranians...It sure tells you about the achievement of these mischievous immigrants that are doing a bloody good job in the US... So did the Iraqi emigres, but their country was still bombed and invaded. In 1979, we had the target packages ready to go, but it wasn't personal! kactus Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) Yep....good transition into Spartacus! Talk about "discrimination"!! Yep. If you watched the whole movie how the persians were depicted then you shouldn't whine about a subtle transition Did she say it or not? Whenever I call out the identical bullshit from your home court, it's a frickin' crime. Any country that enjoys a good neighbourly relation would resolve these through civilised means. Besides what has this got to do with the fricking discrimination of Iranian/ Americans because of their ethnicity or country of origin? If it was jews receiving same treatment you would have your pal doggie screaming about anti semitism. Edited March 5, 2012 by kactus Quote
