I didn't it was them, I said a group such as they.

If we ever find out who did this and the conservatives are absolved, you and your ilk wouldn't believe it anyway.

Hopefully this leads to some interesting by-elections.

I'm still wondering if this could lead to the Governor General having the perogative to dissolve a majority parliament because a political party used subterfuge and clandestine means to essentially rig an election in certain ridings they knew were very closely contested???

Moreover, what does it say about all of the votes that have happened in Parliament due to a fraudulent seat count?

Sure...

What we are talking about here is the potential illegitimacy of the current government because of a potentially rigged election.

I don't believe this was done by a single rogue person because there would be too many variables that would have had to be coordinated in almost 20 ridings (allegedly)...

So,there had to be a a larger group of people conspiring to conduct this potential act of subterfuge.

The questions are, assuming it's proven true...

1.Who was involved?

2.How far up the chain of command did the knowledge of this go?

3.Did it actually have an effect on the potential outcomes of those ridings?

If answers to those questions are answered and things are found out to have occured,it will make the Adscam scandal seem like childs play because we will have had an illegitimate government put upon all of us,through sleazy clandestine means...

and now blatant voter manipulation. We're now a banana republic democracy. Wow, I am so proud to be a Canadian.

Maybe the Conservatives should just start buying votes for cash. At least that would be more honest.

It is interesting, I really don't see the CPC organizing something to that extent, maybe a group such as 'anonymous' perhaps, who else would have access to so many Liberal voter lists. I've seen and used the Conservative system, which does not have Liberal voter lists in it. It appears there is something larger at play here.

Yes the Liberal voter list is a huge secret. When an election comes down the voter list goes to every campaign in the country and is put on every computer the Liberals will use. It is just the easiest way to up date a list if voters move across country etc. Anyone could get it if they walked into an office and started volunteering. ANYONE.

I resist referencing partisan blogspots. But since this one made the National Newswatch I think it's safe to make an exception. Racknine is fighting back over comments made by NDP Pat Martin outside the House of Commons. The letter from Racknine's lawyers is reproduced in the link cited below.

Racknine says Pat Martin defamed company

For now, Racknine would accept an apology but has not ruled out other legal action. What say you now, Mr. Martin.

I think Mr. Martin would probably say "Tough sh!t...Prove me wrong instead of hiding behind their feelings being hurt."...

Or something to that effect...

Were Martin's comments malicious or based on fact? That's for the lawyers to work out.

If I was the head of Racknine, and I was at the heart of a potential electoral fraud scandal,I might want to keep a lower profile than threatening a lawsuit of a government official because my company's "reputation" was damaged...

By getting all high and mighty,Racknine probably just made the spotlight on them a little brighter...

They've already turned over all their records to Elections Canada. What if they're not afraid of the spotlight?

Then Mr. Martin's comments should'nt bother them at all...In fact, they could use the spotlight to drum up business!!!

There is such a thing as proactively protecting and defending the good name of your company to ensure unhindered future business. Racknine is requesting the apology be delivered to a number of media outlets as listed in the lawyer's letter to ensure broad circulation. They're not doing anything different than any other company that wants to continue operating.

Who am I to predict the outcome of the Elections Canada and RCMP investigation? Or you for that matter.

For what?

At the moment we do know that this company has links to the Conservative party and have done robo calls for them before, including the last election...

The question is were they knowingly doing this to attempt voter surpression?

I suppose we need to find out of the Conservative party uses this company exclusively for these calls...

If so,the smoke from the gun just got a little thicker...

Martin should probably retract his statement until the facts come out,though...

it was estimated it would have cost $ 50,000 to $ 100,000 altogether

Estimated by who? Pat Martin?

If they cost anywhere near that much, they would not be in such increased usage. People use them because it's cheaper than making the calls yourself. My daughter's school uses a robo-caller for announcements and such, and they use it because it costs a lot less than any other solution available.

Of course Loblaws does'nt have the power to enact legislation,do they???

I see potential election rigging is'nt that important to you...

You know, I'm surprised at the Booster Clubs reaction here. I would think that they would be calling for a full investigation as loud as anyone else. Is suspected voter suppression/electoral fraud such a small issue for you all?
