Only a hyper-partisan would think any Anti-Liberal CPC ads were meant to effect the Toronto-Danforth election in favour of whatever sacrificial lamb the Tories put into that riding. Unless of course the plan was to get the NDPer elected.

I didn't say or imply any of that. It is undoubtedly campaigning and it's being done during the vote in a byelection. You're not allowed to do that for good reason. If you try to rob a bank and your plan is laughably ineffectual, that doesn't make you any less of a bank robber.

As a singular issue...Not that much...

As an issue in a long line of shifty things done by the Conservative party??

Well,2015 is a long way off...

Yet no one had yet to prove that RoboCall was a Tory conspiracy to surpress democracy have they?

Other than Dean Del Mastro basically agreeing that something was up in Guelph last Friday?

The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!

Not a widespread Tory conspiracy.

Also in a riding the Tory's got soundly defeated in so whatever they did failed miserably.

But these things have been said dozens of times in this gigantic thread.

Yup...And the investigation continues...

That would have to be it (whatever the theoretical twisted logic behind it). I live in Toronto-Danforth and (unsurprisingly) it's an ocean of orange right now.

new info

and another fake identity lol

http://www.nationalpost.com/m/wp/news/blog.html?b=news.nationalpost.com/2012/03/19/who-is-rick-mcknight-no-one-seems-to-know-who-the-mystery-employee-for-robocall-company-racknine-really-is

A key employee of the company that was used to send out the misdirecting robocalls in Guelph on election day appears not to exist under the name he uses online.

RackNine, the Edmonton company that suspect “Pierre Poutine” used to send voters to the wrong polling locations, is operated by Edmonton businessman Matt Meier, with the help of Rick McKnight, who is identified variously as head of marketing and web developer.

But Postmedia News and the Ottawa Citizen are unable to find anyone who knows McKnight, even though he has a healthy online identity, including 551 Facebook friends, many of them prominent.

Meier and his lawyer declined Monday to clear up the case of the mysterious McKnight.

Kind of makes you wonder why RackNine was so quick to be litigious.

I'm starting to think Matt Meir was involved in this from the very beginning.. either that or he absolutely sucks at his job

And Racknine was about to fall off my radar screen..

It looks like we are going full circle again... Racknine with a mysterious web persona who they won;t disclose because this person appears to be as real as Pierre Pountine..

Undoubtedly. He also needs a new lawyer that doesn't come out with red-flag-raising nonsense like this:
“How does one define a real person?” said Matthews in an email. “Would a web-design employee that chooses to use a different name online (which some people seem to do these days) be considered a real person?"

This is also a red flag

In an interview, when asked how a reporter could get in touch with McKnight, he said “you don’t,” and hung up.

A private citizen working for a private company doesn't want media attention. How is it a red flag? Lots of people don't use use their real names online.

Is "stopstaaron" your real name?

Interesting point. You would have to assume then that he knew he was breaking the law therefore he created another persona for himself otherwise why would this guy believe he was going to attract the media?

You're trying to change the subject Bryan but I won't let you.

You said

I have a question for you to answer. If this guy didn't do anything bad why would he need to hide from the media using an alias? You see, it's quite different when people on forums make up "screen names" because it's not their job. It's something to do when they are bored or just want to discuss issues. However making up an alias and using it for your work is fraud.

I'm not changing anything, I responded directly to the point you were addressing.

Same reason you're using 'stopstaaron' , he wants to keep his private life private.

However making up an alias and using it for your work is fraud.

No it isn't. It's done all the time, In some industries it's highly unusual for people to not use a pseudonym. People appreciate their privacy.

Depending on the project, sometimes I do. Many of the people I work with ALWAYS use a fake name. It's very common in many industries, especially anything dealing with media, publishing, entertainment, etc.

I'm not, but notice it took you less than a minute to think of two jobs where people do regularly use fake names.

Now think about all the artists, actors, singers, dancers, musicians, writers, broadcasters, etc in this country. A lot of them use a different name for business. I know several teachers who do the same as well.

Those are people in the entertainment industry..not working in a robocalling centre.
