I demand that you apologize to jacee for insulting her with the "Little Princess" moniker. You're being a misogynistic pig by devaluing her in a way that you would never do for a man. You might call a guy a moron or an idiot, but never any sort of gendered insult like "Little Princess".

You may not like what she has to say, but the fact is that you agree with other regulations that were fought against in exactly the same way you're fighting against her ideas. She's not against primary industries. She's against environmental destruction. She's against doing things in a way that privatizes gains and socializes losses. The destruction of the environment is a cost of doing business, but these businesses do not pay those costs. Without enforcement, we pay them.

You can "demand" anything you want. It's not going to happen.

Anyone (male or female) that spouts off about how their ideas are the only "real" ones, and everyone else is misguided and needs to ne treated as a "criminal" is acting as though they are some kind of monarch - hence "Little Princess". If Jacee were a man, I would have called "him" a Little Prince or Mein Heir or whatever.

Please feel free to report me and "demand" my immediate banning from this board. The politically correct element has become completely out of control over the last couple of years so, unfortunately, it will not be as big a loss to me as it once would have been. When these "activist idiots" get on their high horses and begin calling down all manner of people who do not bow to their eco-religion, people like them (and you) cry foul.

I will say this then - grow up Cyber. If the eco-children can't stand up for themselves, then this board has become a daycare.

(P.s. - I called her an "idiot" as you requested. Feel better?)

So let me get this straight...the kid has an opinion (usually wrong) and just because he hasn't been baptized in the bullshit-colored water of the Church of Suzuki, you guys turn and attack your own.

Who is my own??? We are all here, some on the left, some on the right, some a mix. I guess you see it as cliques with some kind of partisanship, your club, my club.

I am not the member of any club. I am free to cherry pick the truth out of anything I encounter, because the truth is not partisan. There is some truth, and some lies in everything, and it takes skill and intelligence to find find it. To reason it out. Not, "one of your own". I don't know what you are talking about.

Oh and just because you come across as belligerent, angry and swearing, name-calling doesn't give you any more credence in the debate. So for those who keep an open mind, who think, do not be impressed or scared by this noisy, angry person.

It is only "Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing..."

Jacee IS against all the things that make our economy run - doesn't matter if her ideas make sense...His Holiness David has spoken and therefore she must follow without question. OLP made the right call on that one. If it comes out of the ground, it is evil.

I used to think the most annoying part of this board was the pro-indian posters (like what's-his-dork now), Posit, the idiots that were all about "Mohawk warriors" in Caledonia, etc... That annoyance has been replaced for the most part by a bunch of self-proclaimed Protectors of the Earth (a division of the Church of Suzuki) - also known as the wacky, eco-freaky wing of the occupy meathead movement. They too shall pass.

Let's see, David Suzuki, internationally known scientist, recipient of the Order of Canada, among many other distinguished awards, and "Hydraboss", known primarily as an antagonist in this forum. I think the choice about who is more credible is quite clear.

By the way Jacee,

Yes, you will be ignored. We have always ignored you. We always WILL ignore you. You mean nothing to those of us in the real world (you know, with real money, bills, cars that WE own - not our parents, and JOBS). You and your little friends are nothing more than a passing oddity to most people.

We??? Again with the we... I didn't know you were a spokesman for some group or clan. But in any case you are doing a pretty bad job ignoring right now, eh Hydraboss? Watch that blood pressure, heheh

You seem very annoyed. GET USED TO IT!

I don't see any personal attacks in my posts that warrant the personal attacks received.

I've been called names before, but "little" and "princess"? ... never.

How does one who worked hard to support herself and family for 35 years suddenly become a "little princess"? Only in my dreams! Thanks for the chuckle!

I take it as a sign that people are all out of meaningful arguments, and that's quite obvious.

The laws are not being enforced, and that's to the advantage of those doing business in dangerous commodities in a manner that violates the laws.

Obviously they're not going to argue against the "rule of law", so they can only rail against the poster.

I'm going to call this thread a win. :)

(Thanks cybercoma. You are a gentleman and a scholar. :) )

your juvenile, attention seeking, isolation aside... by labeling all persons with environmental interest/concern as "eco terrorists 99% occupy a pipeline wannabe suzukis", you don't really leave yourself much/any 'wiggle room', hey? I mean, really, why should anyone give a loud&proud, self-professed, plundering resource rapist any seriousness or consideration? It's unfortunate you equate any manner/degree of environmental regulation/enforcement as an affront to your personal, as expressed, "filthy rich" aspirations. By the by, when you're done raping, pillaging and plundering... when nothings left... what then, hey?

Mean while china gets away with everything ,yet the world is saying we will all die because of canada;s 2% of GHG we produce and the worst part is we have canadians believing it and people like ms may shedding tears and saying how embarress she is being canadian.Who runs canada , us or the europeans. The funny thing about this is the last climate meeting, the chinese rep could not fly home because of the chinese airports closed because of smog. Why do some canadians shit on their own country just to look good to the europeans, who are on the verge of total collapse partly because of the 100's of billions it has paid out to china ,and india and such. This is the biggest wealth transfer in history and I can't believe how many people have fallen for it. Can some one please explain to me how destroying our economies ,so china can polute more helps the planet.

notwithstanding your continued juvenile rambling, it would be helpful to more clearly identify your expressed raping predilection. Just looking at even a minute segment of the overall depth of focus, do you support and accept Canada's Clean Air Act? Do you support and accept Environment Canada's mandate in air quality monitoring... in pollution emission reporting and emissions inventory management? Do you support and accept Environment Canada's mandate to ensure clean water for Canadians... to address water conservation management... to develop and implement wastewater standards/methods. Do you accept any initiatives toward sustainability? Environmental assessments for new developments?...etc., etc., etc.

you speak of reality. Just where does yours start and end?

Good grief!

Such a flap about violations of existing laws!

Am I to assume that those who deal in dangerous commodities consider it their right to violate laws?

They're sure in a flap about enforcement of the laws!

What IS the problem in complying with the laws?

Even more than before, I say ...

Why would Canadians trust industries that flout the laws to pipe and ship oil safely?

The ridiculous level of hostility in this thread simply confirms my concerns.

nonsensical ramblings concerning China

again, China is not (now) getting a free pass, by any means. Again, even at China's current rate of emissions, it won't cumulatively reach the equivalent of all prior industrialized nations accumulated emissions... until 2035. That does not excuse China from acting now... and it is, most certainly is... acting now, voluntarily.

it seems those who continue to beak-off over China, interestingly shine over the role of the world's second largest emitter - the U.S... What say you, PIK... where's your concern over the lack of any U.S. movement toward emissions reductions?

So you're ok with ruining the environment that sustains us, as long as it benefits the economy? I haven't seen anyone here say they are against the tar sands, oil production, etc. What they usually say is that they're against it being done in a way that jeopardizes us by being destructive to the environment. You're arguing against that notion, which leaves you with the position that they ought to be allowed to destroy the environment any which way they please, so long as it brings in money.

Not a big fan of OPL1Fan but i think he does have a piont, perhaps not articulated well but he has one, Canada has thousands of laws in regards to enviroment protection, and yet when you look at most massive industries that we as Canadians enjoy or profit from, or work at we are ruining the enviroment that sustains us...And for the most part everyone turns the other cheek because we are all tied to making a buck, be it profit or a pay check...

Yes we have laws in place to protect the enviroment, but as mentioned they can not be enforced not enough employees, nor funding ... and they are PS employees and we all know how we feel about them and big government....those laws on the books hardly go far enough to really protect our enviroment, enough to ensure it's sustainment into the long term.... and the cost to put inplace effective laws and practices is all about money...proof of that is with the Koyoto Agreement and back in the day government said how much it would cost to meet our goals ......at the end of the day it was to expensive...SO money does talk , and at the end of the day it always wins...so the answer to your question is Yes if we continue on our current path we will ruin our enviroment for a quick buck... It is who we are...

Don't get me wrong it is not what i want, i'd like a governemtn that could put in place tough laws with a dept that could enforce them...to clean up our enviroment...but while some of us care about the enviroment, if there is a dollar to be made...look out.

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

IMO this carbon argument has taken everyone's eye off the pollution ball. Lets clean up ,our waters and soil, with the money we will save by getting out of kyoto and the biggest concern I have ,that I have mentioned before is the old russian nuke subs rusting away in northern russia. Last I heard canada gave some cash to help out with the decomissioning of these subs. That could be a major disaster waiting to happen..

it sucks it has to be that way but that is life

So those that dare to think beyond the status quo, instead of being lazy and complacent, are children? I would gladly be that kind of child any day of the week.

Indeed, that is what's happening, but I do not endorse or side with anyone that argues that we should do nothing because that's just the way it is.
