Topaz Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 The International criminal court will be investigating into Canada's treatment of the Afghan detainees and if they find something I would think this government will have a lot to answer for. I, also think that other countries will be looked at, including the Taliban and the US and their private security guards. http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/11/15/icc-mulls-probe-into-canadas-treatment-of-afghan-detainees/ Quote

That would have been under the Liberals, not the Tories! The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of an investigation! Shwa Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 why don't they go bug the north koreans and their regime or any other despot country What would that prove that we already don't know? Don't you think it is important that Western countries conduct wartime operations according to the civilized rules or are we to be held to the standards of North Korea? Quote

Moreno-Ocampo said his report will not specifically focus on Canada’s treatment of detainees in Afghanistan, but all crimes allegedly committed in that country and seven others. Most allegations, he added, are against the Taliban, but all claims are being looked at Quote "A liberal is someone who claims to be open to all points of view — and then is surprised and offended to find there are other points of view.” William F Buckley

Still, it's hard to believe you when I don't believe I've EVER seen a post from you that attacked a Liberal or and NDP. It's always anti-Harper! If I ever saw you actually say something nice about Harper or the Tories I think I'd be reaching for my heart pills! PIK Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Price we pay for being #one, but the disturbing part is the canadians that would actually like to see our soldiers in jail and a few off them are on this board. We have the best country in the world, but yet the left and the rest of the world hate us for it. Listening to greeenie liz may on the radio and all she says is we must be more like europe, europe this ,europe that. Europe is going down the tubes and all we hear is lets be like europe. Everyone out there would love to see us brought down a notch or 10 and like I said we have canadians that believe all that nonsense. Harper is the best thing we have in this country, a tough leader that knows what has to be done and will do it. And now we have the NDP heading to washington to do thier best in shutting down the oilsands. We produce 2% of the GHG's and to bring it down a 1/2 a point would kill the country, meanwhile china and the rest are just pumping away. If may and the rest of here ilk and the lefties rerally cared about GHG or the enviroment, they would be after them and not canada. It is all BS. Quote Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.
Rick Posted November 17, 2011 Report Posted November 17, 2011 Topaz, please say something nice about Harper or the Cons.... please.. Oh please, I don't think anyone should go down for this detainee thing but to say Harper is the best thing we have in Canada? He doesn't care about Canada the country he only cares about his government...I can cite you all kinds of examples and I'd be here all day Quote
cybercoma Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 why don't they go bug the north koreans and their regime or any other despot country I'm always confused by these arguments. Wild Bill Posted November 19, 2011 Report Posted November 19, 2011 I'm always confused by these arguments. It would be like saying the cops shouldn't give out traffic tickets because there's murderers to catch. You have to consider the right premise for this to make sense. It's not about letting some offenders off scott free. It's about the SYSTEM and not the LAW choosing which laws to enforce! Usually for political purposes.
