Its amazing how some leftists can't seem to stop criticizing Rob Ford. They want to see him go to jail for using drugs. These are the same people who scream for dope legalization, for the right of everyone to have it, little children should have it. They're the ones calling for Rob Ford to lose his job because he has a substance abuse problem, with drugs and alcohol.

Thanks I am smack in the centre. Do not associate me with supporters of the former Mayor, Olivia Chow or Colin Vaughan's son or the other "lefists" on the municipal council. These so called leftists or NDP'ers are in fact as rigid and narrow minded and intolerant as their extreme right wing opponents.

I criticize Ford of course. Does not make me leftist. Let's clear this up. Many people who are at the centre, left and right are criticizing Ford right now because of his non political behaviour. Don't confuse that with his ideology. That is what he wants you to do. He wants to excuse his bad behaviour saying if you criticize it, its because you want spending. Enough! Let's stop blurring politics and personality issues.

Let's be even clearer. Calling Ford a right winger is something leftists do. They like to label anyone who does not agree with them as a Right winger. Go read back Bubber's posts as a classic example of stereotyping anyone he thinks is anti leftist as a Ford supporter. That kind of simplistic black and white stereotyping is pointless. It really is.

Ford has no discernable political ideology that makes him right or left. He does not advocate a vision. His political raison d'etre is very narrow. he has no ideology or views. The only think he has ever stood for is saying NO to any spending. That's it. Stop right there because to say he stands for anything else is just not true. Even with that one position his entire political platform is based on-even then he has no problem spending taxpayer's money on himself to defend against law suits incurred because of his behaviour and he has no problem spending for subways.

Ford does not have the intelligence to develop let alone enunciate a political ideology. That is why his brother has to orchestrate everything he says and give him cue cards to read out. He has no clue other than to say-no. His entire career has been based on saying no to any kind of spending and insulting other politicians in an effort to prop himself as the anti-politician outsider.

He openly insults people on welfare calling them lazy and dishonest. Then he shows up at city homes posing as their saviour concerned about the atate of their apartments and portraying himself as a blue collar guy fighting the blue blood conservatives led by Tory.

He demands a person who falls asleep on his job be fired for zero tolerance but when asked why he does not hold himself to the same zero tolerance criteria as Mayor after being caught driving drunk and drunk at work, he had a tantrum and stormed off.

He claims he is for blue collar people and at the same time slams any union for existing.

This is not a man with a ideology. This is a person who is what we call a contrarian. His entire career is simply based on saying no and arguing.

Now here is the real issue. Its not his politics. There are plenty of people against spending recklessly. That is not the issue.

The issue is he claims to be the Chief Magistrate of the City. He swore an oath to uphold the laws. Then on public record he not only admits to driving while drunk but excuses it with the excuse everyone does it. He sits on the floor of his assembly mimmicking a fellow councilor for being drunk at the wheel.

He claims to be above the law. He thinks the police should not investigate his behaviour. He thinks going into washrooms in gas stations with a man with a criminal record of selling drugs and beating his wife is quite o.k. He sees nothing wrong with picking up brown envelopes, pissing in pubic, being drunk in public repeatedly, getting into many drunken stupors where he then uses those stupors to justify smoking crack, swearing at his police chief and threatening to kill people. He dismisses all of that as normal and the classic denial statement, "no one is perfect".

He goes on a US talk show where all his behaviour is shown, and all he can do is say, no one is perfect. Never has this man said once, I am responsible for my behaviour. Its inexcusable. What he has done is repeatedly lie. He claims he gave up drinking then within 3 weeks was drunk again in public clearly exhibiting mentally ill behaviour.

This is a man who denies he is an alcoholic yet uses his drunken stupors as his excuse for not being responsible for his actions.

He also has a brother, complete with bulging eyes and threatening gestures, trying to physically intimidate anyone who mentions he has problems.

That is all publically displayed and should be criticized.

No I am not left wing saying this man is mentally ill, addicted and has disgraced his office, his constituents of all political ideologies and went past the point of any chance of rehabilitation when he ridiculed the police chief for not giving him partisan treatment.

Hey guess what, I just listened to the news and RoFo was on there telling the residents of TO if they have a pothole problem to phone his office. You have to give credit where it's due, he knows what kinds of things he is capable of handling.

^{On another note, now that Chow is in, surprise, surprise I will concede this as much as I totally and utterly disagree with her politics-as a councilor you could call her 24 hours a day and she would get back to you regardless of your political affiliation. I detest her politics but she cared about us in her riding I will tell you that. She knew where all the shut in seniors were, knew the homeless by name, when I spoke with her and others, she genuinely was polite and listened no attitude at all and gracious. No ego with us. She's a d irty commy but one on one she is very polite and caring person with her constitutents. I say that on behalf of people I was helping and myself on one matter dealing with an illegal speak-easy causing all kinds of problems. There are some good people in municipal politics. We seem to have had that get thrown out the bus by this divisive Ford approach to politics where he has tried to suggest anyone but him cares. We are far better off today with Chow and Tory running. 2 clear choices, both civil people who care.}

FWIW I got drunk Saturday night too, but didn't stumble around in public swearing. :-/

Rob Ford's world must be having people lift up their phone and film him as soon as they seem him right now isn't it?

Apparently they didn't appreciate not being able to take a picture with Kevin Spacey when they came together on Jimmy Kimmel's show.The "boys" had their noses a little out of joint. I wonder if RoFo really did throw up in the dressing room. Would anybody be surprised?

Kevin Spacey is one cool dude man and I bet he isn't a dirty commie either. Now what was that? That rant about Spacey was ridiculous.

I am not sure who is more sad and pathetic these days, Rob Ford drunk again in public or his brother with that ridiculous apologist-defender routine and attack on Spacey and then yesterday on that same Global reporter who I must say holds his own. Its sad. As sad as it gets. Its like a McKenzie brothers skit with a bit of pathos thrown in. Enough.

Well we have a contrast now. Whether its Chow (the commie) or Tory (the rich boy blue blood) or Ms. Transit (Karen Fake Smile) or that other boring white man, at least we have some decent people running now. Thank God. These two brothers need to be put out to pasture.
