I would like to see a protest against .....

Americans do not stay up late on Canada's election night to see who won a majority or minority in Parliament, and I'll bet the Queen herself doesn't either.

Many Canadians don't either.

We do get news in the morning, you know.

But surely some/many do watch America's election night results to the death...why?

are both, imo, just ignorant provocateurs with a completely undeserved and inflated sense of your own superiority, couched in paranoia and ignorance.

I think it says a lot that they spend so much time on a Canadian board.

I mean seriously, they seem to visit this board 2-5 times a day.

Ideology does not make good policy. Good policy comes from an analysis of options, comparison of options and selection of one option that works best in the current situation. This option is often a compromise between ideologies.

Because they would watch any election results for any country if their neighbouring country was as influential as the US.

2 - 5 times....no way...I'm here for laughs a lot more than that. I have a macro bot that runs 24/7.

Your "Canadian board" is hosted in the United States of America (not too far from George Bush's ranch), uses an American forum engine, and many of the topics invariably invoke America, otherwise I wouldn't be here.

So I should be watching Mexican election results?

Is Mexico the world's second superpower?

Yes...very long winded vitriol...while in contrast....most Americans don't know what you do in Canada, don't care what you do in Canada, and don't care that they don't know what you do in Canada. They don't obsess over Canadian politics or media, don't give a rat's ass who you elect to Parliament or PMO, and are happy to just count the profits from all the American subsidiaries that Canada depends on.

Americans do not stay up late on Canada's election night to see who won a majority or minority in Parliament, and I'll bet the Queen herself doesn't either.

Because US'n republicans are so weird and freakin' hilarious !!

It's entertainment. How can any halfways intelligent human being really take US'n republicans seriously??? I'd say they're from the Stone Age, but that would underestimate Stone Agers, who were able to share, cooperate and evolve. :)

If you want them to be...just obsess on them instead?

Youre the only one obsessing on anything. :D

For a guy who obsesses about Canadians who obsess about the US, you sure have a funny POV.

I mean seriously, not 2-5 times a day!! :o

Speaking for myself, I'm interested in other nations - and what other nations are saying/thinking about us. I don't like to visit a foreign country ignorant of such knowledge - especially since it's impossible for an American to visit another country and not be approached for discussion. On my visits to Canada at election times, I had customs officials not only asking who I thought was going to win, but when I was there during the last Bush election, I was asked by the customs official if I had already voted. When I was there right before the last election, I passed out my Obama buttons to Canadians who wanted them.

So I don't sit ignorantly by, as the world discusses the U.S./Americans. Sorry if that bothers you, but it works both ways - if you're going to have an opinion about us and voice it, we're going to reciprocate. :)

Now, back on topic .................

Whereas all Canadian politicians are dreadfully boring....no wonder you watch 'merkin politics.

I agree...Canada is great entertainment when some of their citizens define themselves as !American. This is the source of much fun and mischief.

Oh no..we can't have any reciprocating. Some of these folks think this is their own private little web site forum where only Canadians can continue to smugly snicker with each other about 'merica and merkins. They get very indignant when an American actually processes their steamy BS, contrasts it with actual Canadian domestic & foreign policy, and dishes it right back into their smug faces.

Oh great...another one who's actual employment and business is connected to...you guess it...America. But I'm obsessing?

Yeah exactly. Youre obsessing. You are way more concerned about Canada and Canadians than most Canadians are about the US. They might pay attention to events in the US for a variety of reasons, but you have actually devoted most of your life to this retarded little game you play, where you trot out the same moronic talking points in every single thread.

"NA NA! You watch American TV!!!"

"NA NA! You paid attention to our election!!!"

"NA NA! You work for some American companies!!!"

That's my schtick...most Americans wouldn't even be bothered. Canada?

We have our share of OCD losers here too. :P

My life has been much longer than this web site has even existed, so you would be wrong there.

"NA NA! You watch American TV!!!"

"NA NA! You paid attention to our election!!!"

"NA NA! You work for some American companies!!!"

Because they are all true, and your heated responses tells me that is an effective strategy.

You can put me on ignore, but you can't ingnore America..especially YOU!

I suspect that a majority of Canadians can/do manage to get through their day without worrying about how Americans wipe their butts. Here I get to deal with many who can't.

Well that would be great! That would just be debating different opinions! Thats what this place is meant for.

But you know as well as anyone else, thats not what you do.

You regurgitate the same retarded talking points dozens of times a week in virtually everything thread you participate in.

"You watch American TV!!!!"

"You watch US election coverage!!!"

Don't confuse style with substance....I am not Canadian, remember, and do not speak for even a single other American either. Getting you agitated works like a charm, and yields more comedy in the spirit of Voltaire and splendid mockery.
