August1991 Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 We've gone far afield here, and I may be guilty in part for the thread drift. I'm all for it if it helps to give a clear distinction separating the two. IE. NOT, North American Union.WASP/WRC English-Canadians are understandably fearful of being confused with Americans. That's not the issue. No, the domain is too large to be absolutely controlled by any government. Resources have to deployed to mitigate the greatest probable threat. Perhaps the greatest barrier could be Christian music piped over loudspeakers at the border.Domain too large? This is my key point: It is easier to control who enters northern North America than it is to control who enters the US. This is why, decades ago, the US created NORAD. The logic is still true in the 21st century despite the change in threat. Americans, more than Canadians, need to understand this. Quote
Topaz Posted December 3, 2011 Author Report Posted December 3, 2011 This deal is more than dealing with the border crossing its also about our food in Canada and our standards vs the US. After reading the following article, I'm just wondering the reason the Tories got rid of the Wheat Board was that Monsanto was also behind this and by the article will come out ahead. Under this deal, Canadians foods are about to change and not necessarily for the good. Read the following article and click the links in blue and have your eyes open. Does Harper know what he is doing or does he even care? http://www.infowars.com/u-s-canadian-border-deal-to-streamline-gmo-approval-confirmed/ Quote
eyeball Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Does Harper know what he is doing or does he even care? He probably thinks he does. In either case, on the one hand I'm okay with the idea of institutions that blur national borders in principle - at some point the human species will want to eliminate inefficiencies and begin merging our governments into one global government. Having it all in one place for example would make it easier for us to keep an eye on. On the other hand, I'm pretty certain moves like this probably only serve to widen the gap between the top 1% and everyone else. In that regard Harper probably knows exactly what he's doing. If only we could know the half of it. Quote I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

dre Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Yes...what's the big deal? I got nothing to hide. WTF...you asked a question and I answered it. Now you want to bitch about that? Are you a typical smug Canadian world traveler who thinks they have seen everything? Big frickin' deal...here has been a checkpoint on I-15 when entering California for decades. They are looking for transported fruits and nuts like you. Standard TSA rules apply....strip naked and bend over. Quote I question things because I am human. Topaz Posted December 18, 2011 Author Report Posted December 18, 2011 OK people the video we've been waiting for, see what the perimeter security is really about and hear what the former deputy minister to Harper has to say about it. BTW, if you don't want to watch, you can read it underneath the video. Everything Harpr is doing and saying will become clearer. I don't think too many Canadaisn and Americans are going to like the message. http://tv.globalresearch.ca/2011/12/end-nations-canada-us-and-security-perimeter Quote
