Oleg Bach Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Once again, great. But nobody's worshipping anyone. Then why bother to post a thread dedicated to a personality......sounds like a little bit of admiration going on for Coren. I guess by the rubes at Sun Media, Coren is considered a big score and has Canadian star status. Coren is slightly exceptable but like most of the people and their handlers at Sun Media....they have an agenda that not so much supports right wing thinking but corporate thinking - This Sun Media thing looks like it was financed privately by so big company....with it`s own view on all sorts of policy. It`s plain to see that seeing there is a cheapness and a low production value to their broadcasts - cos`rich people are cheap - even when it comes to making more money through investment in media. I suggest that they hire some heavy hitters - but that would cost more - and Coren probably works cheap. Quote

Well, if that's what it means to you, then that's in your head. And once again, great. But it has little to do with the topic at hand. Quote

I like the way he doesn't play the PC game and the way he doesn't shy away from discussing faith issues. He also is one of the few people in the media that likes to address the hypocrisy of the way other treats the issue of Israel and Islam. I like how he told people on the Flotilla that if they really wanted to do good for humanity they should keep going a half an hour inland and protest the treatment of civilians in Syria. I'm sure he wants to make money, like anyone else does. He's got his hand in a lot of different stuff (TV, Radio, Newspaper, Books, Public Speaking) so I'm sure he makes a fairly comfortable living. I think it's a testament to his popularity that he's obtained a following largely because of a show on a Faith-based cable program. And if you watch his show he gets some very impressive guests. I'd argue better people go on his show on CTS than Sun News ever attracts. Quote

He had some pretty rough years supporting the family. Having said that - I admit he has matured and developed into a good host and truthful spokesperson for real human rights. Yes his rep is bigger and he will attract more important speakers. I did see and hear his comments on Syria and do like to watch him break the taboo that exist in the critizing of Saudi Arabia --- which I believe is the true culprit when it comes to financing terrorism along with supporting horrific values when it comes to human rights in general...okay - you have won me over. Jack Weber Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 I used to watch his show on CTS regularily. Not because I'm a raging conservative, but, because I thought Coren (who is definately conservative) gave time to all sides of an issue and tried to find the common ground...Since they changed the time of his show on CTS,I have'nt watched him as much...... Sadly,I've seen some of his spots on SunTV( on the very few occasions that I've watched that glorified 24 hour late night infomercial)...It seems that the ideological reigns are off and he's far more biased...If that's how he's going to be on the Tenycke Network,I think I'll take a pass... Bob Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 Good for Michael Coren. I enjoy his analyses and commentaries, although I think his regular rotation of contributors was a little weak. I hope he does well with Sun TV. I watch a lot of his stuff on YouTube, now. Quote My blog - bobinisrael.blogspot.com - I am writing on it, again!

So B O B what do you think of Coren who was born a Jew but flipped to the Christian Catholic faith - do you consider him a turn coat or can a Jew be a Christian will little ill effect? As I mentioned to you earlier that Christianity is a Jewish sect. Quote
Yukon Jack Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 (edited) Visualize this: Michael Coren on one side of the table, debating James Carville on the other side of the table. They would agree on: No need to see a barber, both being bald. The rest? Accent? Political views? Respecting others with different views? Potential for vulgarity in the heat of debate? Religion? Would be interesting, wouldn't it?? Edited August 3, 2011 by Yukon Jack Quote
Boges Posted August 31, 2011 Author Report Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) So the show is called The Arena and debuted last night. It had several really good interviews. However I kinda don't like how he's giving Ann Coulter so much run. He talked to her last night and again today. And Right now I'm watching Sid Ryan and David Menzies debate. That's pretty interesting. BTW this Mark Steyn interview was great if you ask me http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/video/what's-ahead/1136235227001 BTW according to his facebook page the rating were very good. Mr.Canada Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 This has been a long time coming. At first Coren said he didn't want a show and would only make guest appearances here and there. Guess he changed his mind. His show on CTN is the best daily debate program on television so I'm happy he's getting more exposure. Boges Posted December 15, 2011 Author Report Posted December 15, 2011 As I said, I'm a fan of Micheal. But I'm not really a fan of this show. What I liked about his CTS show was the open discussion this show has very little of that. Basically the show starts with a decent monologue then he goes into interview, after interview, after interview. Then a closing monolouge. Everytime I tune it's usually some interview about Militant Islam or how our freedoms are being censored by the left. Obviously I don't watch enough to make a totally informed comment about it. But I just see similar stuff everytime I watch. Quote

He would do well to spend time researching and learning about some other issues and broadening the scope of his show beyond the usual low-hanging fruit: Islam and moral/social issues (usually something about sexuality or abortion) from a Christian perspective. I hate conservative/religious Islam more than anyone, but Coren seems to talk about it every day. Quote My blog - bobinisrael.blogspot.com - I am writing on it, again!
