bud Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) too sexy for the hasidic. Hillary Clinton's expression, right hand clasped over her mouth in astonishment, is largely responsible for making the above photo iconic--and, to at least one newspaper, sexually suggestive. more on the hot stuff, hillary: "The Hasidic newspaper will not intentionally include any images of women in the paper because it could be considered sexually suggestive," Rabbi Jason Miller explains in The Jewish Week. bud Posted May 10, 2011 Author Report Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) update released by the newspaper: "In accord with our religious beliefs, we do not publish photos of women, which in no way relegates them to a lower status... Because of laws of modesty, we are not allowed to publish pictures of women, and we regret if this gives an impression of disparaging to women, which is certainly never our intention. We apologize if this was seen as offensive." Edited May 10, 2011 by bud Quote http://whoprofits.org/
msj Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 (edited) I was going to start a thread about this but did some self-censorship because I didn't want the resident screamer of "antisemitism" to have another excuse to call me anti-semitic. Yeah, some religious people sure have some idiotic beliefs. Edited May 10, 2011 by msj Quote If a believer demands that I, as a non-believer, observe his taboos in the public domain, he is not asking for my respect but for my submission. And that is incompatible with a secular democracy. GostHacked Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 So, what else have they "shop'd". Gotta wonder how often this kind of thing happens. Almost cannot trust your eyes anymore. Quote
scouterjim Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 Little different from Muslim fundamentalists in that regard, aren't they? Quote I have captured the rare duct taped platypus.
bud Posted May 10, 2011 Author Report Posted May 10, 2011 from most of the threads i see in this forum, i would have thought religious extremism and sexism only occurs in islam (and that all muslims are the same in their views and practices). Quote http://whoprofits.org/
DogOnPorch Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Reminds me of those photos where Trotsky is removed. Perhaps the editor of that paper is a former Pravda man...lol. Quote Nothing cracks a turtle like Leon Uris.

What happened to your original post (excerpt): the religion of peace and tolerance is at it again. this time they're wanting to pass a law to execute anyone who is gay. Is it any different, in your mind, if Ahmejenejad (or the imams who prop up his rule) or the CPC passes discriminatory, anti-gay laws? Oh yes, I forgot, the death penalty is A.O.K. when done by some "indigenous" group but not O.K. for Westerners. What blatant hypocrisy. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).
