It's the LAW to fill it out. Does not the government already have all our information through various depts and stuff like income tax forms and licenses?? (Like my drivers licence) ....

And apparently in the spot for Religion ... Jedi is used a lot.

Now, you can be a criminal when you don't do anything harm to anyone else.

This is the human right situation in Canada.

Wait till they read mine.

"Knowingly falsifying government documents" anyone? They can't do much if I didn't clearly understand the questions now can they.

I just received in the mail about doing the 2011 census online(no thank you) or by phone for the paper version, has anyone else received one?

Did mine online today. It probably took less than a minute. Odd thing was the guy next to me was mailing his back because he wasn't given that option. He had a paper copy to fill out and mail. Wonder why.

It is an inverted moral calculus that tries to persuade the world to demonize one state that tries its civilized best to abide in a difficult time and place, and rides merrily by the examples and practices of dozens of states and leaderships that drop into brutality every day without a twinge of regret or a whisper of condemnation. - Rex Murphy

I have a question. Why? What's the big deal? Just fill the thing out.

I did mine on line. They wanted the number in the household, age and sex. Then they asked about three or four different ways if it was a same-sex relationship or not. I got a kick out of that. Mine didn't ask about religion at all. So I guess there are still different versions.

The government can't give anything to anyone without having first taken it from someone else.

Same thing happened in the US last year. People of his ilk were blaming Obama for making them "fill out this damn census thing". Sigh.

I threw mine away. Because I am a responsible citizen, I threw it away into the recycling bin.

Yeah FT You are a responsible citizen, the type that's responsible for the ails of the country

Falsifying information and not filling out the census, great idea guys. The government doesn't actually need to know anything about the people in the country when they're making social policy.

I'll bet Harper's gonna build a special jail just for you census boycotters. :P

Harper differed with his party on some key policy issues; in 1995, for example, he was one of only two Reform MPs to vote in favour of federal legislation requiring owners to register their guns.

Anyone with "no fixed address" need not fill out a census form.

The a--holes probably speed through playgrounds and school zones too. "Responsible citizens" my ass!

I got mine in the mail yesterday, and I immediately did what I always do with the census: I shredded it.

The important information that they need is already part of government records in multiple places, I'm not going to participate in this exercise in redundancy.
