New NDP MPs

Recommended Posts

I wonder when Jack Layton will give some of his new, inexperienced MPs a chance to speak and answer questions from the media? I'm very interested in hearing about their visions for Canada, especially the girl who speaks little French and was in Vegas during the election. Come on Jack, let 'em speak.

Me too.

This reminds me of John McCain and Sarah Palin.

With her annual salary of $157,000, $25,000 (non-taxable) expense account, and $300,000 office budget, Ruth-Ellen Brosseau should be able to afford a translator, language instructor and media guy or two.

OTOH, since her chance of re-election is basically nil, I think she should consider avoiding all that hassle and just move to Las Vegas and receive her Commons salary by direct deposit there for the next four years.

Her chance of re-election is nil? No, her chance at election was basically nil and she beat that. Now that she's elected, her chances of re-election go up exponentially.

Four years is a long, long time. She won't have no experience anymore then.

Way to vote though, Quebeckers!

Jack can make her the shadow minister of funny walks and the 19 year old kid shadow minister of space programs. I wonder how the university students plan to attend commons sessions since they are all during the school year. Should make paying tuition easy tho.

My understanding is she's a single mother and the only problem for her is she has to learn more french.

They will be outed in no time.

What makes anyone think the NDP has anything against sovereigntists?

I saw Mulcair on CBC tonight. His attitude seems to be that whatever Quebecois want they should get, and if you don't agree then you're attacking Quebec. He mentioned that the NDP supported the 'language rights' of Quebecers by supporting expanding Bill 101 into federally legislated areas. Any party which refers to Bill 101 as a necessary protection for the 'language rights' of Quebecers is not going to denounce Quebec 'nationalists' in their party.

Seriously? That's your reasoning?

Okay, I guess everyone in Alberta who voted for a conservative in order to protect oil sands revenue really wants Alberta to separate from Canada.

I am completely confused by your equating the oil sands, which is the basis for Alberta's entire economy, and Bill 101, which is a bigoted law aimed at and for the benefit of parochial, provincial bigots.

The girl who was in Vegas isn't comfortable talking to met yet.

If that's true, she had no business running in the first place. So Harper was denigrated for muzzling his MPs all this time and Unhappy Jack gets a bye?

We all know there are 2 sets of rules. I hear the NDP Quebec caucus has a former Communist. i know someone brought it up earlier, but the NDP is now full of members who are part of the party's socialist caucus. Have a read at what these clowns believe in.

Again only an idiot would quote the socialist caucus (who by the way is around 1% of the party) as a source for what the NDP believes. Guess you get to be that idiot today.

Yah is that a fact? Is that why in the last NDP leadership race the SOCIALIST CAUCUS candidate got 1% of the vote from the PARTY? Is that why the last convention NOT ONE of their RESOLUTIONS was even debated? They couldn't even reach the floor with their resolution all you need is like 10% to reach the floor?

Nope only an idiot who knows nothing about the NDP would make such a claim. Or a Liar, a liar would do it to.

The socialist Caucus was so small last convention that even the Youth wings from Manitoba and NS out numbered them. I remember going into the table area where you learn about different caucuses quite a few times. The Manitoba youth and the NS youth always had people at their table the Socialist Caucus never did. Sorry you know nothing about the party so please don't even try you look dumb.

How about Thomas Mulcair staing that he doesn't believe the Americans have photos of bin Laden.

The NDP is going to be a very interesting circus to watch on a daily basis.

If the NDP wants to be taken seriously they better learn to take the gong out of the show. What a collective bunch of entertaining bozos.

He said he doesn't believe pictures exist of the fire fight. A very different thing way to take what he said out of context. He went to say he believes the President of the United States that Osama has been killed but if Osama had a weapon or not is in question.
