WWWTT Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 This rally was short and sweet and I had the opportunity to meet a couple of big movers and shakers. I didn't get much of a chance to talk with my local candidate(Jagtar Shergill) for the NDP but he did promise to answer any question I have for him and gave me his number. I mentioned this rally to Bill Signal(business rep for local UA46) and he showed up with Sid Ryan(president of the OFL) I was disapointed that Jack showed up at this rally without Olivia but at least I had the opportunity to shake his hand. Jack did address an issue that is on my mind and that is the long wait times currently for family members and denials for temporary visiting visas.No other party leaders have made this an issue as far as I am aware. Harry Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 (edited) It's not just here it's everywhere. People don't realize this NDP surge is not at all restricted to Quebec. It's catching on all over the country. The amazing thing is CPAC has these phone-in shows which usually has a bunch of disgruntled people who phone in, quite often CPC supporters, but now the calls are coming in from all over Canada, and the callers are all excited about one thing now - the rising NDP tide across the land and most of the callers are saying they are switching to the NDP this election. Never ever seen anything like this kind of support for the NDP. How many different polls came out today alone showing the NDP in 2nd place? Edited April 22, 2011 by Harry Quote

While YOU might not care, the average swing voter sees a guy coming back to Canada, shuttled into a party, his wife not a citizen, and then wants to introduce new 'systems' on the Canadian people of cap and trade and this ridiculous passport bs. We have too many rules and systems already in Canada to the point we cannot breath and Ignatieff wants to introduce more. That does NOT resonate well with people and people on the left trust Laton as a CANADIAN. People do NOT want new social engineering systems. They do NOT want increased energy bills and gas prices through cap and trade environmental nonsense. They certainly do NOT want some jet setting elite with his non citizen wife coming back to Canada after 30 years to take power and introduce these new social engineering and tax systems. Take a step back and you can see why NDP is doing so well. Remember in Canada we don't vote FOR parties, we vote AGAINST parties. The left are voting against Liberals because of Ignatieff for very simple reasons that are understandable. Quote ---- Charles Anthony banned me for 30 days on April 28 for 'obnoxious libel' when I suggested Jack Layton took part in illegal activities in a message parlor. Claiming a politician took part in illegal activity is not rightful cause for banning and is what is discussed here almost daily in one capacity or another. Because it's not really an issue. There is some pretty obvious criteria to get a temporary visa. They did tried to do a program to fast track Dr's into our medical system. Basically the immigrants had to write an exhaustive test. This happened in Hamilton. I wish I could find the article. What happened is that all 30 of the participants failed. Most could not get a simple diagnosis of a cold. A doctor in a first world country compared to a doctor in a third world country, are two completely separate things.
