Scott Taylor, who most of the Canadians know, thinks that is what happening to our soldiers. He says some 1500 soldiers have some form of physical injuries or wounds and out of them, 850 will never fully recover from them. He makes good points about the Karzai's corruption and if the Canadian troops are dying in vain because of the corruption and our government knowingly keeps them there. http://thechronicleherald.ca/Opinion/1219315.html

I gave up listening to him along time ago. I also question his so called abduction over there.

Toronto, like a roach motel in the middle of a pretty living room.

Many of the Afghan soldiers are already corrupted so all of the training they received couldn't get past their corrupt lives. According to the National Post, today, "A Canadian armoured vehicle accidently clipped

the bumper of an Afghan Ford Ranger." The Canadians stopped to do the paperwork for the Afghans compensation, the ANA crew refused the paperwork and demanded cash payment on the spot. The Canadians refused and drove off. The ANA soldiers drove ahead and set up a roadblock and stopped the heavily armed vehicle. The Canadians refused to pay cash the second time and shots were fired first in the air , then at their vehicles.

What a lot of crap over there!

ON the same subject of Karzai, the US says, they have found a network that connects Karzai's family, businessmen, corrupt officials, drug traffickers and Taliban commanders. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/12/29/officials-afghan-network-undermining-government-aiding-taliban/

Was that the wedding that was crashed in on by the SAS recently?

I have this strange feeling this same network is likely to connect to the CIA, maybe that is how they know.

Karzai was a contact for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33500863/ns/world_news-the_new_york_times/

--- There is of course a connection closer to home. None that I can have seen as credible or able to be substantiated.

The US makes money from insecurity. or rather the US mi-complex makes money from insecurity.

I don't get the war. I havn't seen arguments demonstrating the need for Canadian troops there. Its not like the US keeps a budget or has the chance to pay off their debt anyway. Why damage the Canadian card and tarnish it with a US image. The old Canadian "good people" diplomatic card was a good one for the US to be able to call on. Now it is lost. The war is a totally nonsensical war, regardless of the 1000+ canadians that have been permanently effected by it. It is a little taste of war. They are soilders. I think it would make more sense to set up a foreign legion as well as a "mercorps" for people that want to fight. Then sell them out to the afghan government if they want Canadians there.

Why is Canada giving foreign military aid to Afghanistan? So it can fight a civil war forever?

I was the type of person who was a proud Canadian - now this decade old war has made me so I can't even feel comfortable wearing a CANADA shirt or associating with the flag, or even standing for the anthem of a country that I have seen commit so many wrongs and crimes against humanity. It has ruined my support for a nation that is inhumane and cruel and totalitarian. That is in part what this war has done - if not alone the alienation of all those constitutional rights Canadians once had.. and now they are giving the border away to the US.

SHAME! SHAME!
