grainfedprairieboy Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Holy moly. Not a g/d thread to be found on the landmark football game in Moncton this summer. This is the most Ontariocentric forum passing itself off as Canadian that I have ever seen anywhere. Thank your lucky stars I'm here. We'll start by educating you about the greatest game on earth and our only true national sport. It is a game we invented and dominated globally for almost 100 years. A good little vid despite the Trudeau (SOB) reference: Quote Ribbed For Your Pleasure
Michael Hardner Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Once Toronto gets a CFL team, then we'll start to care about your game. In the meantime, we've got our Bills. Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
Smallc Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 This is the most Ontariocentric forum passing itself off as Canadian that I have ever seen anywhere. Yes, we Ontarians are everywhere. Quote
Smallc Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Once Toronto gets a CFL team, I'm assuming this is some type of joke. Quote

guyser Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Yes, we Ontarians are everywhere. You're close enough, you can call yourself one. Its fun, you get to be Elitist and mock Alberta all you want, they are like the little brother who finally bench presses 100lbs and starts bragging about it....then he sees Big Brother lifting 400lbs Quote

It's a pretty absurd idea to my mind... Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
grainfedprairieboy Posted October 15, 2010 Author Report Posted October 15, 2010 Yes, we Ontarians are everywhere. In Alberta, some celebrate 'Ontario Heritage Days' by dressing in assless chaps and publicly parading through the arts district once a year. I understand other communities with sizable Ontario immigrant populations have similar festivals. Quote Ribbed For Your Pleasure

That's funny, we celebrate Stampede the same way Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
Michael Hardner Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Quasi independent states (colonies anyway) coming together to form a country is the vary basis of Confederation. But there's hardly any difference there... virtually none between some provinces. Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner
grainfedprairieboy Posted October 15, 2010 Author Report Posted October 15, 2010 That's funny, we celebrate Stampede the same way I'm sure in Toronto that when it comes to assless chaps, the old 'its five o'clock somewhere in the world' philosophy reigns supreme. Quote Ribbed For Your Pleasure
grainfedprairieboy Posted October 15, 2010 Author Report Posted October 15, 2010 But there's hardly any difference there... virtually none between some provinces. I'm not so sure. I suppose the maritimes are that way. Quebec is something else altogether. Ontario is drastically different between the north and the south. The prairies are pretty much the same while interior and mainland BC are completely different. I think it is more a collection of regions. Quote Ribbed For Your Pleasure

I think it is more a collection of regions. Agreed... but the maritimes are, surprisingly, quite different. And Newfoundland is in a whole other league of different. p.s. my Lions suck. Casey Printers was an ass and got cut from the team and Wally Buono needs to pack it in as coach and GM... He needs to go. Quote
Michael Hardner Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 I'm not so sure. I suppose the maritimes are that way. Parts of NS and NB could be switched out, but PEI is an island (hence the "i") and Newfoundland is a country, basically. ManiSaskatchaBerta... there's a big blob of it that's all kind of the same... Quebec is something else altogether. Ontario is drastically different between the north and the south. The prairies are pretty much the same while interior and mainland BC are completely different. No. I have more in common with Northern New York state than northern... well northern anything... Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! Michael Hardner

Michael Hardner Posted October 16, 2010 Report Posted October 16, 2010 Not really. Saskatchewan has more of a problem with inbreeding... Solomon has been the bright spot. The D has been good for the most part, but then at the end of a game they allow the other team to run all over them. I don't get it. They hold teams to 20 points all game and it looks like our lethargic offence will just squeek by and then they allow 25 points in the 4th quarter! ARGH!!! Quote
