grainfedprairieboy
Mr. Graves’s survey finds that the Conservatives picked up the most strength in Alberta – not a province where they have ever lacked support – with 61.8 per cent. He says the Tory strength right now is “concentrated in white, male seniors from Alberta and the rest of the Prairies.” The Article Graves must have taken a double dose of stupid pills. How does the province with the youngest people in Confederation and around 7% of the total seats in the HoC have the clout off seniors to pull of what he assesses? What an idiot. What a maroon. Of course though, this'll play well out East and if you don't actually employ reasonable deduction then it will seem like as good a reason as any that Iggy lost his mojo no? It makes sense because most younger people can't stand the Conservatives either but that is anecdotal, not scientific. BUt it does make the grade in the realization that the Conservative Party of Canada is the rich white male's attempt at regaining his dominance and privilege in Canada. No wonder Harper continues to whine for a majority. It isn't just practical, it is personal.

Poor old Iggy never had no mojo. He's, how you say, a fool. His biggest claim to fame is his support for an American Empire, and for torture. Harper's people might play this up in the case of an election...though it's tricky, since they support the same things.
Keepitsimple
When you look at the EKOS details, the Conservatives (23.3%) are (nationally) virtually tied with the Liberals (23.6%) in the under-25 youth vote - and ahead of the other parties. It just so happens that in addition, the Conservatives are well ahead in the white-haired category. A nice spin by Mr. Graves and the CBC but nicely mis-leading as well. Yes, my understanding is that the under-25 vote favours the Conservatives over the Liberals. But that the under-25 vote overwhelmingly does not favout the Conservatives. And never will. Hence the minority situation.

But that the under-25 vote overwhelmingly does not favout the Conservatives. And never will. Hence the minority situation. It doesn't favour the Conservatives over the Liberals - they are virtually tied......and the youth vote is traditionally appportioned in an idealistic way - the Green Party for example, may get a larger proportion. In summary, the youth vote is all over the map.....but as you can see...as much as the youth vote "overwhelmingly" does not favour the Conservatives, likewise the youth vote overwhelmingly does not favour the Liberals. Or do you somehow read things differently?

In summary, the youth vote is all over the map.....but as you can see...as much as the youth vote "overwhelmingly" does not favour the Conservatives, likewise the youth vote overwhelmingly does not favour the Liberals. Or do you somehow read things differently? Maybe more like this: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/how-parliament-would-look-if-only-youth-voted/article1747999/ "Canada’s youth would elect a Liberal minority government, with a substantial increase in representation for the New Democrats, Bloc Québécois, and Greens, according to projections based on recent polls of Canadians between the ages of 18 and 24. The Conservative Party would be severely reduced, virtually wiped out east of Manitoba." "Based solely on the support of Canada’s most elderly citizens, the Conservative Party would be swept to a huge majority with 192 seats and 44 per cent of the vote, with support levels topping 50 per cent in the western provinces and Atlantic Canada. The Liberals would win 106 seats and 34 per cent of the vote with strong performances in Quebec and Ontario." "The political landscape would radically change if the Canada’s youth voted in similar proportions to the rest of the population. "

Oleg Bach
I may have white skin - but I am black inside...I really don't like white people..whether they be white black people or white people who fail to have soul...You know what I mean..the term "white" now equates with that stiff upper British lip that whispers souless words and shows no mercy to those plundered..NOW other races are catching on and British cruelty is being practices by those other than whites..we trained them well and now they will use colonial cruely to give whites a bloody nose. nicky10013
Poor old Iggy never had no mojo. He's, how you say, a fool. His biggest claim to fame is his support for an American Empire, and for torture. Harper's people might play this up in the case of an election...though it's tricky, since they support the same things. The rumour has always been that they have some incredibly nasty ads. Though, with the fact that Conservative support has been knocked down by approx. 10%, they're holding on to a lead because the Liberals simply haven't released a comprehensive platform. With 2 prorogations and something as stupid as the census under their belt, a round of scathing attack ads may just turn more people off. These kinds of adds don't work the way we think they work. They don't raise support for the party that airs them, they tend to generally lower the turnout. The goal is to get the other guys to say, god, I don't like anyone, I'm sick of the process, I'm not voting period. Go to hard and it turns people against the party that airs them. It's happened before. Kim Campbell and Jean Chretien's Bell's Palsy Stephen Harper calling the Liberals essentially child pornographers Paul Martin's soldier's in the street bit. (He turned out to be right on that one, though, so in hindsight good call I guess )

Actually, it's the old indian racists that form the most solid unwavering voting majority in Alberta. Indian racists are more likely to vote Conservative while white racists vote for parties like the CHP. Middle East racists and terrorist sympathisers by and large throw their support behind the Liberals but of course this is a constant across Canada and not just Alberta. Asian racists only vote if one of their realtors is running. Black racists are generally too busy involved with hectic drive by shooting and break and entry schedules they abstain. Now try and keep your stereotypes straight.

There's something very un-Christian like isn't there about racists supporting a party which names itself the Christian Heritage Party isn't there?I'm sure the CHP must be proud to be labelled as a racist party. Rick
Much like I suppose, a New Democratic party that is anything other then both new or democratic. They are without doubt the most democratic of the big three parties. As long as this party has been around, I'll concede to your view that they are no longer "new". The party really should rename itself the Democratic Party of Canada. Or a Conservative party that is conservative in name only. Well you have a point there too. Only the die hard party faithful refuse to admit that they are for all intense purposes nothing more than the Reform party masquerading under the guise of the Conservative party's brand name in order to catch the unsuspecting fool who would vote Conservative. There's just something very wrong about what you wrote. I know a lot of Natives who might find the comment a little troubling. Here in BC, there are a lot of folks of Chinese descent whose ancestors were dying in the gold, copper and coal mines from the Sierra Nevada up to Alaska, not to mention on some of the most dangerous areas of railroad work in North America, who also might find what you wrote inaccurate. And then there are those "colored" folks who escaped up to British North America via the Underground Railroad, they might have a thing or two to say about it. I was reffering to today, but I might have used to broad of a brush ,but white majority suffered just as much as anyone ,asked the irish who built the redeau canal. But overall, what % of chinese are we talking about and the same with blacks that were able to make it up here, compared to white people. And I suffer no whiteman guilt, so your veiled comment that I am racist will not work.
