treehugger Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 Fantino is announcing that he will run for a federal mp. He has shown stability in all of his super careers so far. What do all of think about it? Quote
Wild Bill Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 He'll easily make it. No doubt he'll be running in the riding of Haldimand-Norfolk, which contains the city of Caledonia. He's running in Vaughn (Woodbridge) where he has lots of friends. eyeball Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 Is Fantino the type of conservative that people can trust to keep the state off the people's backs or can he be expected to swing the other way? I see he's against the gun registry so presumably he's a libertarian, but I suppose that doesn't really answer my question does it? Quote I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

If Fantino was running in my riding I'd vote NPD rather than see him get in. Hell, I'd put a member of the Marxist-Leninist party in parliament first. What are your experiences with him that turn you away? Quote Back to Basics
Oleg Bach Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 He's running in Vaughn (Woodbridge) where he has lots of friends. Not wanting to demean of slander the old Italian power monger..but I did hear a rumor where he as a young drug squad offier would bust someone for a 10 pounds of pot and alledgedly turn in 7 pounds as evidence...not saying the man is dishonest..just saying he is human and has about as much honour as the rest of the would be and wanna be federally ambitious jerks. guyser Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 (edited) He has shown stability in all of his super careers so far. What do all of think about it? He's a prick , conceited, does not play well with others, his ego is bigger than his fat head and I hope he gets burned bad by the Vaughan electorate. Stability? How about smart enough to move on before the pressure gets too much. To whit...London, Toronto....go ahead and read his story. Ever wonder what became of Cam Wooley when Fantino realized Wooley was better liked then King Julian the Dickhead? Buried in the basement at Queens Park. Edited October 12, 2010 by guyser Quote

I think the fact that he has name power means it'll be a closer election than usual, but Vaughan has always been a Liberal stronghold. Last election saw Bevilacqua lose 10% of his share of vote over the previous election and he still won by 15 points. Furthermore, like you mentioned, most people in the GTA know how scummy he is. Anything can happen, but I really don't think he has a shot. Quote

nicky10013 Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 Beats French power mongers like General (Alcoholic) Dalaire. Have you ever considered why he's an alcoholic? Or does that not factor into the way your obviously tiny brain makes decisions. Quote

My wish is he gets buried in a smear campaign. But damn if he doesnt have connections that can hurt an opponent. Quote

Shwa Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 Depends on who they get to replace Bevilacqua. Well... I was thinking that Cam Wooley would. Then we would have the ultimate showdown or, rather, smackdown. I am thinking Cam takes it. Quote

Shwa Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 Cam Wooley is a Conservative. There was talk of him running provincially for the PCs. I heard the same talk. But a chance to go head to head with Fantino in a popularity contest? I think he'd change stripes for the opportunity... Quote
Saipan Posted October 12, 2010 Report Posted October 12, 2010 Have you ever considered why he's an alcoholic? They all have reasons, just like drug addicts. Which is the same. Quote
Argus Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 I don't really know that much about the man but don't perceive him in an overly negative light. What are your experiences with him that turn you away? If you do a search of the forums under Fantino with my name you'll find a bunch of stuff. Basically he's a swaggering, arrogant bully, a thug who is not above using his office against anyone who criticizes him. He's also a political suckup and a coward. He abandoned the people in Caledonia, illegally threatened local politicians, and launched a nasty campaign against a couple of cops which cost us a ton of money and which he finally cut short to protect himself when the courts got involved. He also browbeat a number of offices in order to get them to lay a charge against a guy critical of him in the Caledonia dispute, and the taxpayers again had to pay a lot of money to buy this guy off when it finally got to court. There's just not one single good thing I've ever heard about him. Shakeyhands Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 I heard only the good things. Do you live in Caledonia? Quote "They muddy the water, to make it seem deep." - Friedrich Nietzsche
