Guest American Woman Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 This is the third time in the past year that Naomi has posted a message that doesn't include the words "Israel" or "Jew"! Congratulations, Naomi! I hate to disappoint you, but this is indeed another message about Israel and Jews, as the meaning of "double post" in this instance is: 'While posting yet another anti-Israel thread, in my excitement, I accidentally hit the post button twice, so unfortunately* I had to delete one of the threads.' *Unfortunate, because two anti-Israel threads are always better than one. Quote
naomiglover Posted July 30, 2010 Author Report Posted July 30, 2010 I'm sure there is a reason why you two are so worried about criticism of Israel and are always there to justify anything Israel does. Quote Jewish Voice for Peace Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East
Smallc Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 And I'm sure there's a reason why you use every singe post as an excuse to criticize Israel. Quote
naomiglover Posted July 30, 2010 Author Report Posted July 30, 2010 And I'm sure there's a reason why you use every singe post as an excuse to criticize Israel. Of course. I want the west to stop supporting a state that has repeatedly violated the rights of people, just like it finally stopped supporting Apartheid South Africa. No one here has a problem condemning the criminals in Congo or Somalia, why should we stop at condemning the Israeli government? Smallc Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 Because it isn't at all the same thing. You simply want it to be. Yes, Israel deserves criticism, but then so do the Palestinians and Hezbollah. They deserve even more criticism, because they hide in the shadows and blow themselves up when they think it necessary. You are presenting a one side argument for a situation that is very far from one sided, and you deserve all the criticism you get as a result of your lack of objectivity. Quote

It's more than a lack of objectivity; it's spamming the board with 40 (and counting) anti-Israel threads -- as she accuses everyone else of bias. Quote

naomiglover Posted July 30, 2010 Author Report Posted July 30, 2010 Because it isn't at all the same thing. You simply want it to be. Yes, Israel deserves criticism, but then so do the Palestinians and Hezbollah. Palestinian and Hezbollah do receive criticism. No one here defends Hamas' illegal attacks. In fact, Canada and US both have designated Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist organizations. So my point still stands. The west has failed to give the same treatment to Israel as they would to any other state or organization. They deserve even more criticism, because they hide in the shadows and blow themselves up when they think it necessary. Killing civilians by suicide attacks (which have not happened in years or even rockets (which has happened only a few times in the past few years) are wrong. There is no question that it's a violation of international law. But then it's also wrong to kill civilians by guns, rockets and missiles when they could be avoided. Wearing a uniform does not give a pass to those to commit war crimes. So if you add the numbers of civilian casualties (ex: 1000 civilians were killed in Israel's attack on Gaza), you are wrong to say that Palestinians deserve more criticism (even though they are receiving more criticism in the West). You are presenting a one side argument for a situation that is very far from one sided, and you deserve all the criticism you get as a result of your lack of objectivity. How am I presenting one sided argument when I say all sides should be condemned for their violations of international law? Surprise me and for once show me how you are not one-sided like Israeli Woman, and condemn Israel for its many violations of international law. Lets see some objectivity. Empty criticism by people like Israeli Woman, who has done nothing but to justify every Israeli action, only helps to prove my point. Smallc Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 I seem to recall Israel being criticized recently regarding illegal settlements...and I seem to recall that I was one of the critics. Quote

It's posts like this that really make me laugh. As naomiglover criticizes me regarding my views on Israel, she refers to me as "Israeli Woman" instead of "American Woman." Evidently she thinks being Israeli is something to be ashamed of, and accusing someone of being Israeli is derogatory. How fair and open-minded can one get? No wonder she criticizes me. Along with the 40 anti-Israel posts, it's proof to me that she is a troll. Quote

Guest American Woman Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Once again, they have no argument when faced with the facts, so they object to the facts being told to them. It's a fact that I'm Israeli? Really? Boy, the things one learns about oneself on this forum. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 It's a fact that I'm Israeli? Really? Boy, the things one learns about oneself on this forum. Yes...another "fact" is that I am a female residing in Regina! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Guest American Woman Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Yes...another "fact" is that I am a female residing in Regina! So apparently being a female and living in Regina are as insulting as being Israeli, it would seem. Gotta love some people's "facts." Another fun "fact" is that New Yorkers are comparable to the Taliban. Quote
BubberMiley Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 So apparently being a female and living in Regina are as insulting as being Israeli, it would seem. Why do you feel insulted? Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
Guest American Woman Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Why do you feel insulted? Who said I did feel insulted? I stated quite clearly that I wasn't insulted the first time she referred to me as "Israeli Woman," saying I would be proud to be Israeli. Doesn't sound as if you got to BC with your attempt at insulting him by calling him a "girl from Regina," either. Here's the thing: it's a reflection on you, not us, and it makes it a joke when you refer to our 'inability to address facts.' Quote
BubberMiley Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Doesn't sound as if you got to BC with your attempt at insulting him by calling him a "girl from Regina," either. I think your problem is you think people are trying to be insulting when they're not. Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet
Guest American Woman Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 I think your problem is you think people are trying to be insulting when they're not. Riiiiight. When you told BC "I didn't know they let girls from Regina in the special forces," you were complimenting him. And when naomiglover refers to me as "Israeli Woman" instead of "American Woman," it's a term of endearment. Quote
BubberMiley Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Riiiiight. When you told BC "I didn't know they let girls from Regina in the special forces," you were complimenting him. Uh...no, I was commenting on how he likes to rely on unverifiable credentials or experience to win arguments. I was simply talking about the unreliability of anonymous internet posters. I don't see anything wrong with being a girl from Regina. My point is I don't have any proof that he(she?) is not that. You have a tendency to jump to conclusions, and then cling to them obstinately over the course of lengthy threads. Guest American Woman Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 You have a tendency to jump to conclusions, and then cling to them obstinately over the course of lengthy threads. Uh...no, I just see through your tendency to offer lame excuses for ignorant behavior. If you want to obstinately believe/insist naomiglover is referring to me as "Israeli Woman" out of anything other than disrespect, go for it. Just don't expect me to be as stupid. Quote
DogOnPorch Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 Oh, we've all been here @ Mapleleaf a while now...y'all looooonger than moi, even. We may not know everything about each other (some more than others), but the consistency that we all share speaks for itself in terms of credibility as to who one claims to be.
