In an interview earlier today with the South African Broadcasting Corporation to air in a few hours, President Obama disparaged al Qaeda and affiliated groups’ willingness to kill Africans in a manner that White House aides say was an argument that the terrorist groups are racist.

Speaking about the Uganda bombings, the president said, “What you’ve seen in some of the statements that have been made by these terrorist organizations is that they do not regard African life as valuable in and of itself. They see it as a potential place where you can carry out ideological battles that kill innocents without regard to long-term consequences for their short-term tactical gains.”

“Additionally, U.S. intelligence has indicated that al Qaeda leadership specifically targets and recruits black Africans to become suicide bombers because they believe that poor economic and social conditions make them more susceptible to recruitment than Arabs,” the official said. “Al Qaeda recruits have said that al Qaeda is racist against black members from West Africa because they are only used in lower level operations.”

This sounds like such a stupid argument to make... and it would be if the audience was North America.

But the audience to which he was speaking might be more inclined to see Al Qaeda as America's problem, not their own. There might even be Africans who think along the lines of Malik Zulu Shabazz, who sees Osama Bin Laden as a brother-man, repzentin' for the brown man and standing up to Whitey.

If Obama can convince east Africans that Muslim extremists aren't their friends, good for him.

Sub-Saharan Africa is on the front lines,when it comes to dealing with these Islamofascist thugs.Innocent people who had nothing to do with whatever fight these extremists have were killed in Kampala,just as they were in Dar-Es-Salaam and Nairobi.

Most people don't talk about this because it gets little coverage but the increasing creeping Southward of Islam is beginning to run into resistance in more populated areas of Africa.It was fine when it was finding converts in the Sahara.It's a far different issue getting into African countries that have no history of Islam at all,and are much more populated(and educated).Most have adopted either Catholic or Protestant arms of Christianity,and in rural areas,have held onto alot of the pagan rituals.

If you look at a map of Africa and look at where Islam has reached Southward,it's beginning to come into conflict with more people who are not interested in converting...

You do know there is a political theory that because the slave trade took the best and brightest Africans that when Africa started as their independent nations that they started at a competitive disadvantage leading a much different Africa then if they were allowed to keep these people right? You have heard of this before it is a well known political theory.

There is no mortar between the blocks in the Egyptian pyramids. You gotta look at it from a engineering /construction/ archeological views to see how impressive it is.

the pyramids in terms of engineering marvels far... far FAR exceed that heap of garbage that is in ZImbabwe, the fact that the pyramids are still standing after 5000+ years is far more a feat then a mere 500... i mean really are you serious to compare the Structures of Ancient Egypt to this? 500 years ago, the sistine chapel was being built... how does that compare to a stack of half collapsed rocks?!?!
