They sold it off, and considering the 407 doesn't have any competition, jacked up the rates 10 fold. Now, no one can turf the guys who jacked up the rates because they're not elected. Now, no one drives on it because they don't want to pay the horrible rates and traffic is as bad as ever. Some solution. Quote

Some solution. I would relish a private toll road into NYC. My time is worth more than I save by driving on a "free" road for 50 kms at 40 km an hour. Yogi Berra once said about a restaurant "Nobody goes there anymore 'cause it's too crowded".
