It looks that there may be a election soon. All the opposition parties said if the budget is like the Throne Speech, there's nothing there! To help women-change the word "sons" in O Canada, to help seniors- give them a day! WOW!!! Now its plain why Harper is always asking the opposition for their input! Why freeze their pay, why not CUT IT??? They just had a pay raise a little over a year ago, so this is no hardship for them!!! How long has it been since you had a raise? These politicans are not hurting one bit.

Freezing salaries is nothing but a symbolic gesture. The deficit was this high before the freeze anyways. All it does is make for angry civil servants which isn't a good thing.

Aww, civil servants might get angry? Good. Guess what? Civil servants aren't immune to the same economic downturns that the rest of us have to deal with. It's the rest of us who fund their salaries. If John Q Public has to deal with pay freezes, pay cuts, and lay offs, then civil servants should be dealing with the same economic realities. :angry:

I'm not rich. One doesn't need to be rich in order to live abroad. Just takes investing smartly then liquidating all ones assests and leaving. I live in the Halton aregion msg the admin and get him to an ip search if you want. You need money to live out here as there's no social housing out here.

I'm more than willing to meet anyone in downtown Toronto in person to prove myself as I go downtown once every couple of weeks for business but everyone on this board is too afraid to do that. I wonder what inadequecies they're trying to hide. I lived on the street for years as I've said and I still know many shelter and outreach workers downtown. I've also been to jail more than once during that time. However I'm now fully pardoned. Believe me or not doesn't really matter to me but don't call me a liar when you're unwilling to allow me to prove it. That's a tad unfair, wouldn't you say?

Aside from that I'm just resisting the envitable. One day Canada will become a fully communist country. However I doubt they'll call it that probably come up with some other flowery name for it. I hope to escape before that happens is my point. As I won't allow the socialists to get their hands on my money to redistribute it to their lazy friends. Maybe that's why so many socilaists refuse to work and sit on welfare. Because they know that they'll be getting their grubby hands on money they didn't earn.

If I can go from living on the streets to living in a comfortable outlying town in less then 10 years anyone can. They choose not to and expect me to fund it.

As I said The whining class will keep pushing until Canada to the left until it's a fully communist state and I don't intend to stick around for that. It'll take a while, maybe 20 or 30 years but it's going to happen.

That's in the south where the animals live. I live in the north section where the normal people live. I don't and many who live up here consider the south...Oakville , Burlington and soon Milton etc to be Halton just an extension of Peel.

People who live in the North have much different attitudes about things which is why we want to split and form our own region of North Halton. We don't want or need high density housing up here in North Halton but the region is forcing it upon us for some reason. We don't have public transit or social housing up here and we like it that way. Keep your Urban utopia to yourselves we don't need it.

I wrote a letter to one of the papers up here saying the same things and it was published.

I've seen co-ops but no true social housing. I like how you changed your wording there. I view social housing and subsidized housing as two separate things. We're talking about social houing not subsidized co-ops.

To live in a co-op one needs to pass a credit/reference check. Anyone who is on welfare can get social houing but not into a co-op.
