No kidding. People bitch about how clumsy our minority governments are, and yet don't bother to look at the horse trading and dirty dealings that countries like Italy and Israel have to put up with.

All this stability of course at the expense of getting the answers now rather than decade or so later; and at the expense of being able to actually vote for somebody you like and trust, as opposed to which of the two twidllebuddies disgust you less at the moment of casting the vote; at the expense of responsible and transparent government that is held to account here and now, as opposed to maybe in the uncertain future. Chretien and Harper have shown us the way. And we better shut up and get busy counting beans in those RRSPs.

If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant

The Tories really like playing this games but this may be a game which they could lose at the voting polls. They are going to hire a judge to look at the LEGAL documents about the detainess and then that judge is going to report to Nicholson his findings.. Well... since THEY are give him the documents THEY want him to SEE, of course he won't find anything!!! Doesn't these guys know that ALL government documents are LEGAL? The more they try to stall the more they become untrusthy and liars. Harper can't fight the WILL of Parliament. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/100305/national/afghan_cda_documents

They are not giving them to a sitting judge because they know a SITTING judge would rule against them and it would be binding. They know as does their pet retired judge, that Parliament is the supreme authority, and has an absolute right to see ALL of the documents, regardless of any percieved threats to national security. APparently someone who has seen the documents is reporting that they contain proof that the government was purposely turning prisoners over to the Afghans so that information could be beaten out of them. The true reason for prorogue and for this new sideshow is to try and cover up CONSERVATIVE WAR CRIMES.

War is a crime. We need to understand that first before we go any further down this road. Society does sanction acts that are PROHIBITED by law....strange but true.
