eyeball Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 I think it'll be swine flue that likely props up the government. That said, the government could also fall if enough parlimentarians are off sick. Is an election in the face of a possible pandemic really a good idea? If voter turnout was poor in the last election I can only imagine the fear of getting sick will reduce voter numbers to their lowest ever. I suppose if we could vote online it wouldn't matter - its just too bad that idea has such a pox on it. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
Alex Moore Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 What your saying all depends on how bad swine flu actually turns out be, or if the second wave comes at all. I don't think it will be an issue the next election or will effect voting patterns. Unless it becomes something like the Spanish flu. Quote "I am a sick man, I am a spiteful man... Topaz Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 Gee, I wonder were the swine flu is right now? They never did find the pig that had the flu and shouldn't they quarantine all pigs and the pig farmer's so they don't transfer it to the rest of Canada?? Why not give the pigs the shots instead? Good idea. Then we can observe the pigs to see what sort of side-effects will happen, before Canadians take it. Quote

I heard someone say that it's about 1% epidemic and 99% pandemonium. Sounds about right to me. I have a friend who had swine flu and he said it was about the same as any flu and it passed in about 8 days. Quote If you understand, no explanation necessary. Oleg Bach Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Pandemic does not mean epidemic! The public is so slow to grasp this...What I want to know is who got the contract to make a billion bucks producing a "vacine" for what amounts to the common cold? Quote

Probably the same pharmaceutical companies that have to pay billions today for illegal marketing of their snake oils! Quote
