bush_cheney2004
Actually I expect someone will finally get pissed off enough to smuggle in a nuke or even several of them and try to knock America over. The collapse of the Roman Empire comes to mind. Like I said, nothing lasts forever. Some guy already tried this from Canada...he never made it to LAX. The Roman Empire did not fall to nuclear, radiological, or chemical weapons. Dream on.....
eyeball
Some societies fall into chaos and a strongman takes power. Strongmen take power for many reasons. Should the US military intervene? In general, I think not. The US should have just stayed out of those situations where it chose the strongman over the people. Untold numbers of people suffered horribly and died terrifying deaths at the hands of some of the regimes the US chose to support. Many still do to this day. If there really is an excuse or apology for this then the only place to express it is in some sort of international truth and reconciliation process. You just cannot hold yourself up as a shining beacon to the world on the one hand while aiding and abbetting what amount to terrorist governments with the other. The US is not the world's policeman. I agree. The US is just about the farthest thing from being what I was raised to believe a policeman should be.

Nope....doesn't work for self annointed "peace keepers" who do the same either.

The US conducted much of these actions when they were confronted in those areas by the former USSR. And many would have died if the US did not support them and instead, allowed Soviet backed regimes to hold power. You just cannot hold yourself up as a shining beacon to the world on the one hand while aiding and abbetting what amount to terrorist governments with the other. The intent was to stop terrible forces of oppression from gaining a foothold and taking over. That many refer to the US as a beacon is evidence of how they succeeded. So the west was the real victim here? Okay. Lets see the evidence for this interpretation of events presented by government leaders in an international truth and reconciliation process. Survivors and families of the people who were asked to sacrifice their lives for this apparent greater good need to be given the chance to see just how painful this period of time was for the west. Truth and reconciliation is the only way to achieve closure on this period of time. If the pain is just left to fester on its own, it will. enlightment
Stop convicting them - and your punitive measure are reaching their end - help em out---well have some fun first. The best way to know U.S. politics is to view " Obama Deception Full Length " on youtube.com Also download the free Obama Deception Guide : http://www.scribd.com/doc/13404412/The-Obama-Deception-Guide There is no Left or Right in US politics , they are only acting in front of the camera. When off camera, the Left and the Right go to parties and dinner...etc. The only people controlling the White House is the International Bankers and the US Presidency is only a puppet post.
