Fresh from the inauguration, actor Val Kilmer is pondering running for governor in 2010, when two-term Democrat Bill Richardson will be forced from office by term limits.

"I'm just looking for ways to be contributive," Kilmer told The Associated Press on Thursday. "And if that ends up being where I can make a substantial contribution, then I'll run."

That's just crazy talk having an actor run for governor.

Next thing you know they will have wrestlers running.

Val Kilmer ponders run for New Mexico governor

Since his most memorable role was probably as Doc Holliday in Tombstone, I think Arizona would be more appropriate.

Ronald Reagan - Actor turned president.

Ahnold is the guvnah

Al Franken is a senator once a comedian.

Most politicians are actors and good ones too, because you really don't know if they are lying to you or not.

Hollywood and the Government are tight yo.

Conversely,

is a former member of the Nixon and Ford administrations who became an actor and comedian.

Hopefully Stein will return to politics to challenge Al Franken in 2012. It seems like the only way to nullify the "annoying Jewish comedian" factor. The Franken-Stein debates would be classic. They could go on tour at Yuk-Yuks clubs all over America.

Are his lips moving? Then he's lying. ;)

Aha! You beat me to it Kimmy...as soon as I read the title of this thread that was EXACTLY what I was going to say. His performance in Tombstone is often underrated, I think -- especially the bit where he twirls that teacup like it was a gun. If I were American, that's all he'd have to do to garner my vote. But then, I'm simple and easily led. ;)

I prefer his role in the movie Heat. Deabeat Husband with a gambling problem who happens to rob banks.
