myata Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 One more time, great men are called when we're great things to be accomplished. And us? Quote If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant
Argus Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 This Is DionCheck out the REAL Stephane Dion in this new site which will debunk all of the myths perpetuated by the Conservatives. Dion is a nice, compassionate, honest, accomplished leader, with a proven track record of getting things done on a national and international level. He passed the Clarity Act, legislation which kept Canada a united country and stopped separitists from breaking this country up. He also led 182 countries to fight climate change, LED BY CANADA, when he was the president of the UN conference on climate change hosted in Montreal. Dion is a leader, and has the record to prove it. What does Harper have aside from juvenile attack ads? Nothing but empty promises and negative smear campaigns. Speaking of Dion, does he still talk about his support of Kyoto in public but oppose doing anything about it at the cabinet table? Oh well, at least he named his dog Kyoto. Nice and compassionate? Are you for real? I'm not voting for a father confessor, I'm voting for a tough, sonofagun who can get things done and stand up to all the special interests, not to mention for Canada. And that'ain't dear old doddering professor dion. Quote "A liberal is someone who claims to be open to all points of view — and then is surprised and offended to find there are other points of view.” William F Buckley
normanchateau Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 More striking to Canadians will be that Dion has promised to double the benefit. BTW Dion's cluing in. When elections roll around, the question Canadians ask is "What's in it for me?", sort of like when the budget is tabled. True. Alas the Liberals do not have the campaign funds to get their messages across. Meanwhile the Conservative ads falsely and fraudulently claim that the Liberals will eliminate the benefit. Quote
M.Dancer Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 True. Alas the Liberals do not have the campaign funds to get their messages across. Meanwhile the Conservative ads falsely and fraudulently claim that the Liberals will eliminate the benefit. They have since pulled that ad. Dion's announcement was what? yesterday? I imagine they will put together an ad of him or someone in the party criticising the programme and then saying that now Dion thinks it's so good, he's doubling it. That is not a leader, that's a follower. Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
normanchateau Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 That is not a leader, that's a follower. Kind of like Taliban Steve following Taliban Jack in slow motion. Quote

normanchateau Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 I judge politicians by what they do and what they say in real life situations. Perhaps it is because I pay attention to politics year round and not just around elections. And you figured out these clever techniques all by yourself? Quote
capricorn Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 And you figured out these clever techniques all by yourself? No need to get testy just because you're afraid of a Conservative majority. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers
fellowtraveller Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Normie lives, rightfully, in terror. He'll disappear again after this election. He passed the Clarity Act, legislation which kept Canada a united country and stopped separitists from breaking this country up. Most useless and overrated waste of paper, perhaps ever. And it had absolutely nothing to do with breaking the country up or keeping it together. It will be rightfully and utterly ignored if and when Quebec ever votes to separate. The last thing Dion wants to do is bring up his lack of accomplishment while he was part of the government. Quote The government should do something.
TCCK Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 If it smells like a Liberal, looks like a Liberal and tastes like a Liberal IT MUST BE A LYING CHEATING SCANDAL RIDDEN LIBERAL !!!! They never change, if we get a Liberal Majarity government all the Eastern Canadian's will quickly whine and complain just like the Western Canadians that know better than to vote for them. Then the next election once again the Liberal backers "POOF" instanly forget all the crap the Liberal government has thrown at us Canadians for the last 40 years!!! Do some research into the past and the lies and scandals the Liberal government have been involved in. Paul Martin, Chretien, Trudeau, Turner , Pearson,(and farther back King and Laurent) they all had their issues. Quote
betsy Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) I never entertained the idea that Dion is not nice. But I don't see him as a leader. And that's with or without the Conservative ads. He simply doesn't have the qualitites required for a leader. He looks weak. He talks weak. He acts weak. At the Liberal Leadership Nomination, its should have been ABCD....ANYONE BUT CERTAINLY not DION. Edited September 13, 2008 by betsy Quote
betsy Posted September 13, 2008 Report Posted September 13, 2008 (edited) Exactly... when you have to resort to his clothing choice and a scripted attempt to show he's not a robot as 'accomplishments'... then you probably shouldn't be questioning a guy who's led the UN's leadership. And what is this "This is Dion" site but just a scripted video take to show that he's not "Mr Bean", but a macho outdoor guy? They're desperately toughening his weak image. UN leadership? Dion???? He was just one of the official "Yes Guy" of the UN!!! A very rich...and generous "Yes Guy." That's a typical "fan boy" of the UN! Just like the other followers like Layton and May, awed by this group mostly comprised of dictators and corrupt leaders! Nothing new there. No stellar performance there! How difficult can it be to say Yes? All it takes is just a simple up and down motion of the head. Then brags at home "we are accepted and highly regarded in the UN." No kidding. Failed to explain that this highly priced acceptance came with passing grade on the first question: "What's in your wallet?" "One of the gang?" Yes. A leader? No. Edited September 13, 2008 by betsy Quote

They have been the sun, the moon and the stars. Aaaah. Hey you all think I bleed conservative blue. I VOTED for Chretien, they he stabbed me in the back. I am choosing the lesser of all the evils and the leader of a party that has room to become one of Canada's best politicians in history. Harper has what it takes, it just comes down to IF he is going to do the right thing and not let the power go to his head. Quote
