McCain picks woman for VP slot

Recommended Posts

Cute. However the Republicans have done a stellar job at neutralizing the Obama star factor by nominating Palin.

The very fact that the Democrats have, in their infinite wisdom, actually taken the Palin bait on the "experience" debate, all the while turning the spotlight on their own Candidate's weak credentials (and he's at the TOP of their ticket) speaks volumes of their (and your) stupidity.

Say what you want about Palin, the nomination has so far been stroke of political genius by McCain.

You don't need executive experience - leave that to the appointing committee - what America needs is a pleasing face - Bush worked out for a while untill he started looking and acting like a cross between Rove and Cheney - and then the little man took on the appeance of a little ape...Palin reminds me of the big haired Harper front - what's her name - from Spruce Grove - Alberta - oh yah AMBROSE......Palin will be McCains Ambrose...and once they find she has no substance she will be disposed of after she fulfills her purpose of seducing the population in a way only a woman can do.

The same factor they ran a series of ads denouncing?

It's not just Palin's lack of experience. It's her lack of anything but a uterus.

No one ever went broke or lost public office by underestimating the intelligence of the American people.

The very same.

I would love to see a Republican utter this choice phrase about a Democrat woman on "The View" and escape alive. bwaaaaahahahaa.

annnd (drum roll please), the Obama-esque, elitist "I'm smarter than everyone else" bullshit arrives right on cue.

So you're telling me her gender had nothing to do with her selection? That there were no prospects with superior experience?

'tis to laugh.

First: you might want to read more.

Second: if American people choose John McCain on the basis of Sarah Palin and her looks or her "down home" credentials: they deserve every ounce of derision they get (as if the last eight years weren't enough).

Don't look now but you're making the case against Obama.

See above reply, but substitute "down home" credentials for "no" credentials.

Agreed..because additional ounces of derision from the peanut gallery are no match for pounds of satisfaction and gloating right at home.

I just caught a report by Jack Cafferty on CNN's Situation Room. Before the show went on the air, they'd already received over 6,000 e-mails about McCain's pick of Sarah Palin. The comments are overwhelming opposed to McCain's choice. McCain just gave Obama the keys to the 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

I hope people are listening to him.

Sarah Palin appears to be a continuing – if not an increasing – drag on the GOP ticket. Currently, 49% of voters express an unfavorable opinion of Palin, while 44% have a favorable view. link

....vice presidential candidates may not win elections, but this year it's looking increasingly likely that Sarah Palin may help lose one.

"Fallout continues from McCain's pick of Sarah Palin for vice president, with 52 percent saying it weakens their confidence in his judgment." link

I have to wonder if McCain now regrets his choice. If not, he sure should.

McCain should have chosen someone who supports his more moderate views, rather than attempting to appeal to the base. I would rather loose on my own terms, rather than have some so called "expert" tell me that a perky alaskan woman will increase my chances.

Really? Do go on..I am very interested in this latent Alaska hatred exhibited by some Canadians. Who knew before the Mallick piece came to fore? Has it always been thus? Is it the Klondike Bars?

So when we don't show love for Palin, we are anti-alaskan??? Hope you can prove we are anti-alaskans. Not to mention the Alaskan Idependance Party is sure anti-american. But blame it on us racist elitist Canadians. We aure used to the transgressions buy now. I am heading out to the store right now for a Klondike Bar, have not had one in ages. Anyone else want one?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaskan_Independence_Party

The Alaskan Independence Party is a political party in the U.S. state of Alaska that advocates an in-state referendum which includes the option of Alaska becoming an independent nation. The party also advocates positions similar to those of the Constitution Party and Libertarian Party, supporting gun rights, privatization, home schooling, and limited government. The party has appeared on the ballot in Alaska in all state elections since 1970.[citation needed]

I don't think the GOP told McCain to choose Palin. In fact, I think he likely would have been advised against it. I think he basically chose her all on his own.

It does seem out of character however. Based on McCains history (or my knowledge of it anyway) he would seem to lean towards a VP choice that is less flash and dazzle and more of a moderate with a solid long term reputation within the republican party.

I knew it...it was the Klondike Bar. That and our "porno star" looking VP candidate and trailer trash, redneck Alaskan residents, who you wouldn't permit to vote if you had your druthers.

Fortunately, in this matter, you have no druthers...or anything else.

You hold Alaskans in such high regard....

That Klondike bar was very delicious as well.
