As only 2.5% of the population of Canada is black, I would say this is a pretty good start!

Of course...tokenism is always appreciated, even in racist Canada (or the USA).

To tell you the truth, I didn’t mind the debate at first. But then I got angry when I saw just how irate they became over my choice not to vote for Obama. For them, Obama was the litmus test for race loyalty and I failed miserably. When we eventually parted ways that evening, the anger between us was still there–something that giving each other a pound could not squelch.

Now the biggest question these bruthas have to deal with now is “Has this person who has constantly offered to watch their kids so that they can enjoy a quiet evening with their spouses, served as a one-man welcoming committee when they first moved to our neighborhood, checked in on their families when they were out of town on business–is this brutha now less of a “true brutha” (as one of them described me to his wife) just because I’m not voting for Obama and do not think highly of Democrats, or have I now become the White boy in Black skin (as they described Larry Elder)? Only time will tell.

The test of civilization is how the majority treats the minority and in this case, I wonder how the majority of blacks will treat those among them who choose to vote for McCain.

Probably about the same as they are "treated" already, regadless of "race" or voting choices. Any thinkig person knows that the true prize was/is independent thought/choice, not lockstep jiving to a monolothic idea that has never existed.

As Rush Limbaugh's program gleefully announces, Barack Obama is not a certfied "Brutha" anyway....no slave blood.

Oh Baw ma ma - is not a black gangsta type - nor is he really black - black means poor and socially dithering in a non-culture of rap...it's a shame how black music has degraded from the hopeful R&B - of the 70s - music that was full of joy and hope and love - now the rappers have lost the game - once they make you hate - it's over and rap is pure hate and violence - a battle that will never be won. Easy their big fella....it was political satire, not a treatise on social development in the United States. There was plenty of anger in the 60's and 70's too (e.g. Gil Scott-Heron...who is still pissed off).

Hello guy.....first I am bitter and now there is an insinuation that I need a rage course? No I am not going to look up who Scott Heron was ....I don't bother with people who have a hyphen in their sir name - or is that person name? Now I am going to say something a tad racey and maybe racist - Obama's scull lacks the volume needed to rule the world - or is there a committee involved - and how is on that committee?
