There are all kinds of activities....there was even a large wood boat in the port this weekend that came all the way up from lake Champlain (Gasp!) Don't let this get around but they had english only signs at their kiosk and no one panicked. Although one woman dropped her ice cream nearby but I am not sure that it was related.

OK...nuf with the kidding. I just don't getwhat the issue is.

It can be seen even from Lord Dufferin's Terrace. A British governor's terrace. Again, quelle horreur!

And this terrace is adjacent to a hotel in which a British prime minister, Churchill, once stayed. It shoud be demolished, or so would Québec-bashers think that "xenophobic, racist" Québécois should do! :lol:

Happy Birthday Quebec, my own ancestors came to Quebec back in the 1600's from France, Pierre, a soldier and from there the family grew and 13 or 14 generations later we are 8000+ strong, although my grfathers' family left Quebec at the end of the 1800's and my grfather himself, was one of the original workers at the Ford plant in Windsor.

I feel the quoted statement should be addressed though. Quebecers are actually quite Zenophobic, this has been demonstrated time and time again. Personally I'm pretty sick of their whining and demands, their constant attitude of poor lil ole me. Cut em loose, they contribute nothing of value or worth to this country and merely continue to take a disproportionate amount.

My ex wife was Quebecois and we spent quite a bit of time in the province. It always amused me when we'd go to a buisness of some kind and the people working there would start with the rude and racist remarks. That was my wifes cue to go into action and let them know that everything they were saying was being understood, and returned with interest.

So, please do not attempt to alter the reality of the situation. Zenophobia and racism do exist and are quite common in Quebec.

Anyone who has ever had even the slightest dealings with Zeno are rightfully wary of him. Quebecers in this regard are indeed Zenophobic with good reason.

On the other hand, Montreal used to be the most cosmopolitain city in Canada and probably North America...In Canada at least that honour probably falls to Toronto because that is where immgrants choose to live. And again on the otherhand Quebec is no more xenophobic than Alberta...small tows and small minds...

The insult I am referring to is directed at the French about rekindling past history when the French were defeated on the 'Plains of Abraham by the British'.

Rumour has it the Queen will be on drums, with her special rendition of 'God save the Queen'. I believe this is untrue and totally false.

With or without Sir Paul the celebration will be a success. If there is one thing Quebecers know how to do - it's to throw a party.

What irks me is Quebec bringing in high profile English speaking talent to sing on the 'Plains of Abraham' when their talent should be exclusively French.

And if the talent was exclusively French-speaking, you would complain that it is racism.

This doink of a man married a one legged hooker....and is not the bright...if he wants to do some honouring of British domination over the french by singing a silly pop tune the his former producer had actually created - yes - the noble man George Martin..who cleverly took the old English Music hall tunes of the 20s and 30s and made a fortune by recyling them...thought the Beatles with a slight twist. McCartney still does not read music and depends on highly trained back up musicians that he can BUY...I am not amuzed.
