M.Dancer
My friend has worked for the last 5 years on her show. She isn't so much as retiring but will continue on radio while her TV show is going into syndication, much music picking it up here.
guyser
Guyser, I kept waiting for you to mention the main factor for birthrates, but you didn't. In Canada, our birthrates are actually dangerously low. We are not having enough children to even maintain our population levels. Abortions are one reason why. Cant argue with that. But along the same amount of babies are lost through miscarriage. anyway, I suppose my main point, that teens aren't any more responsible towards sex now than say 20 years ago stands. Except they are. Teen pregnancies are down from 20 and 30 years ago. Since 1991 teen pregnancies are down 30% in the US. Abortion rate down 50%. Abstinence and information is deserving of credit. http://www.guttmacher.org/pubs/2006/09/12/USTPstats.pdf In Canada we have not experienced the same drop. But we have always had lower rates to begin with. And we are still less than half the US rate. http://www.statcan.ca/english/kits/preg/preg3.htm
guyser
That's exactly what happens. There is no family and you get pregnant to create your own because you want the unconditional love your parents denied you by divorcing one another (or not even being together in the first place). Perhaps you could show us info on this? This society has more information available to it than any before it in history yet the problem of teen pregnancy persists and children are having sex at a lower and lower age. We should not assume that information means wise choices. Her 'non-judgmenta' sexual 'counselling' is the problem; it is an open door to abuse of sexuality. Ok, we have more information, and more kids are having sex and at an earlier age. Yet the rate of pregnancy has gone down. So we have more kids shtupping , at a younger age, and less pregnancy, but the kids are not making wise choices? Something is wrong with that connection. Which is it? I am at a loss with respect to "it is an open door to abuse of sexuality". Could you expand please?
eyeball
She was vulgar. She de-eroticized sex turning it into a lesson on 'plumbing for hedonists.' She was far from factual, constantly stereotyping 'males' (as she likes to call them). You're Jason Kenny aren't you?
Regulus de Leo
You're Jason Kenny aren't you? You don't agree? Don't you think sexual 'liberation' (as it is quainty called) has led to a very matter of fact unerotic view of sexuality?
M.Dancer
Don't you think sexual 'liberation' (as it is quainty called) has led to a very matter of fact unerotic view of sexuality? Not in my depraved and fertile imagination...
Regulus de Leo
Not in my depraved and fertile imagination... That indeed is the problem: there is nothing left to the imagination, just some repulsive old hag waving plastic penises in the air. She herself is a form of birth control. Old, seasoned or young, women with toys....

That's the point. Technical know-how which is what 'sex' (once quaintly called 'making love' since apparently it was somehow related to that passion) has become entirely: a passionless exercise in self-gratification with a convenient friend to help you out. I take iy you have never seen her show or heard her on the radio? Someone has to answer questions that kids have, and sometimes their parents aren't the ones to answer them. Yes because you will be old yourself. She will have to do. But you would still prefer youth and beauty. Sex drive diminishes with age. Or are you disputing biological facts? Performance also diminishes which is why they invented Viagra.

guyser
It's called biology my dear. Sex drive diminishes with age. Not in my experience it doesnt. The women in their forties....I have learned to eat well and get plenty of rest. I need to. Viagra is needed for those with a medical condition, and a lack of an imagination.
