M.Dancer Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 Perhaps tomorrow night? Tomorrow I prepare for my son's birthday. No time for much of anything other than shopping for band-aids and ointment. My son turns 4 and will learn to ride a bike. After that....after calming his mother who will feel every scrape and bump....after trying to connvince my son that you can't go to bed with a bike....then the fastest game on ice will have my attaention. DangerMouse Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 Pittsburgh is going to sweep the next series again I hope so. The Begin hit was the nail in the coffin. Why was this guy taking runs at players with 5 minutes left in a tie game? What an idiot.... Quote

guyser Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Hockey is dead to me. Well of course it would be , I recall a certain gentleman posting.... Montreal will win the cup.End of Story It is end of story for the Habs. I would prefer Sid and Saku going at it, alas, the Flyers Pens will suffice although I dont want to watch Philly but ti should be interesting. Quote
M.Dancer Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come. Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead Scribbling on the sky the message Hockey is Dead. Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves, Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves. They were my North, my South, my East and West, My working week and my Sunday rest, My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong. The stars are not wanted now; put out every one, Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun, Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods; For nothing now can ever come to any good. Hockey is dead to me. August1991 Posted May 5, 2008 Author Report Posted May 5, 2008 Since Montreal was eliminated (so I hear), I was hoping that those silly car flags would disappear too. But oh no... These people still have to drive around with red tea towels hanging out their windows. What a place. Quote
Black Dog Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 Jeez, the Habs shat the bed on that one. Weird series, weird bounces (all of which went Philly's way). Guess I'm on the Pens bandwagon now. Quote

Dont you think the fans, me included, misread the Habs? I believe the reliance on the power play was far too much consideing the fact that penalties are generally hard to come by in playoff hockey. I think we missed reading the size difference. Yes the Habs could skate, but playoff hockey is a diff game and there is never as much room as in the regular season. Oh...and some fourth liner named RJ Umberger. Didnt everyone pick him in their draft...why of course, right after Franzen. Quote
guyser Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 As we can all see , Leafland is progressing as it incompetent as always. How does Richard Peddie keep his job? 41 more folks Quote
HisSelf Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 Yeah the Leafs. Just amazing. This is an organization that has been kept alive by marketing. Marketing is the biggest house of cards man has ever invented. As Galen Weston senior once said, "You can get people to eat horseshit if you put enough sugar on it." Quote ...
guyser Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 Yeah the Leafs. Just amazing. This is an organization that has been kept alive by marketing. Then they will need marketing. Quote

Then they will need marketing. Really. When was the last time you saw an ad from the leafs? for that matter, when was the first time? They could add another 5,000 seats and charge 10% more for them and they still would be sold out every game. They have yet to charge so much that there isn't a wiating list for season's tickets. Now personally I don't understand it, hockey being dead to me.... Go Toronto FC! Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
noahbody Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 Really. When was the last time you saw an ad from the leafs? I think it was in 1993 when they were selling their "The Passion Returns" video to all the faithful. Only one goal away from the Stanley Cup finals. That definitely deserved a video. Quote

Only one goal away from the Stanley Cup finals. That definitely deserved a video. 10 to 1 it wasn't the Leafs selling the video....5 to 1 it was Molstar Productions...100 to 1 it was Mel Gibson EDIT. I googled....the producer was Ron Harrison, who was at the time VP of Molstar Productions Edited May 8, 2008 by M.Dancer Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us

Then they will need marketing. Yeah right. Matts Sundin scored his whateverth goal and within a week, the Leafs were selling pieces of the friggin net at fifty bucks a pop freeze-dried to a pic of their hero. That's Leaf's marketing. That year, the Leafs celebrated their last Stanley Cup win. You want to know how pathetic that was? Look up the dates between these two events. That's Leaf's marketing. Leaf's marketing has nothing to do with quality. Leaf's marketing is a guy with a bad suit and bad breath telling you that he owns a castle in Spain. Edited May 8, 2008 by HisSelf Quote ...
