bush_cheney2004 Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 I don't think HisSelf is referring to the US getting us into Afghanistan capricorn, I think he means our "obligation" (as you put it) to be accessories in the unfolding crime against humanity aka as American economic and military foreign policy. This is laughable....Canada "got into" Afghanistan because of NATO membership commitments and (the funny part), as an explicit way to avoid entanglement in the invasion of Iraq. Canada's obligation is of its own making, and you didn't even get to vote on it (via Parliament). What kind of "dictatorship" are you guys running up there? Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
eyeball Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 This is laughable... Its a tragedy actually. Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
bush_cheney2004 Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 Its a tragedy actually. OK...tragic comedies are quite popular. And as long as some Canadians feel it is caused by others, they shall remain trapped in the tragi-comedy. No wonder the next American election is seen as a cure for domestic impotence and victimhood, which only perpetuates the cycle. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Keepitsimple Posted February 16, 2008 Author Report Posted February 16, 2008 As we speak, I'm in the process of watching a video rental called "Chasing Freedom". If you want to understand why we are in Afghanistan - rent it. Quote Back to Basics
eyeball Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Shot for the Court TV network, CHASING FREEDOM is an interesting look at the struggles the citizens of Afghanistan faced in the years before the events of 9/11 sparked a defiant change in the system.Review So 9/11 WAS a blow for freedom after all. Didn't I tell ya'll so? Quote A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.
rbacon Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Canadians are more likely to die at the hands of the local Gestapo, than they are Terrorists. Bring home all Canadians from Afghanistan and let them go at each other full throttle. Just sell them guns and dynamite. Quote

There have been several debates and a vote. Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us
