"This is what puts him in the league with John A. Macdonald." That's hillarioius . I add that to the following article for laughs of the week. This is a quote from that article: "This guy's (Mulroney's) ego should have its own time zone." http://www.canada.com/national/nationalpos...af-c81c80fbc38c What a buffoon!

Bush: The Disaster President
newbie replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Right on BD. I suggest to all those critics to read FEMA's National Response Plan. Their head reports directly to the President. Duh. -
And oh, lest we forget, Chretien kept Canada from losing perhaps hundreds of lives by staying out of Bush's illegal invasion. That act alone borders on heroism.

McGuinty Cancels All Religious-Based Tribunals
newbie replied to mirror's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I happen to believe in your comments, but I don't think it helps to insult BHS, re his religious beliefs. All that does is produce more negativity and personal attacks. Remember the "ignore." -
I don't know. He got 3 back to back majority governments, had 7 back to back balanced budgets, kept 78% of their red book promises, introduced the Clarity Act, signed on to the Kyoto protocol, initiated the Romanow Commission on health care.... Seems to me he didn't just sit on his hands. The biggest thing the critics complain about is that he didn't get rid of the GST. Well, in actuality and in reality, the GST has been responsible in part for Canada's prosperity. Chretien a failure? Don't think so.

God's 'Intelligent Design' in Classroom? Why Not?

Do you discount archeology? The book I cited earlier has ample evidence to counter the exodus story, any secular existence of Abraham, Moses, or any of the Patriarchs. -
Bush's approval ratings Newsweek - 38% Time - 42% Associated Press/Ipsos - 39% CBS - 42% Zogby - 40% Pew Research - 40% http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm http://www.news24.com/News24/World/Hurrica...1768542,00.html http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/06/27/bush.poll/ http://news.google.ca/news?q=Bush's+ap...tab=nn&oi=newsr And he's got 3 years to go!

God's 'Intelligent Design' in Classroom? Why Not?

Yes B. Max. I think the contrast has more to do with actual dates of when certain events happened, and some contraversy over specific leaders, time frames etc. I found it to be a very enlightening read. -
Bush: The Disaster President
newbie replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Under Fema, "The National Response Plan...establishes protocols to help save lives and protect the health and safety of the public, responders, and recovery workers;...protect property and mitigate damages and impacts to individuals, communities, and the environment;..." That makes it clear they should have definitely been in New Orleans prior to Katrina coming onshore. That was in their mandate. -

Allow me to introduce a book that may offer answers to some, if not all, of the "questions" re the Bible as historical: The Bible Unearthed by Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...680956?v=glance When read with an open mind (I know that could be a feat in itself for some of our posters) it can offer some interesting and alternative possibilities that contrast the Biblical account from an archeological point of view. -
I think you're correct mirror. I'll give it a try.

That Canada-U.S. Chill: Does Not Exist!
newbie replied to mirror's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I'm glad Bush finally realizes our importance to the relief effort, compared to this pathetic statement he gave on Sept 1 denying the need for foreign aid: "[W]e're going to take care of our own business... and there's no doubt in my mind we'll succeed." -
Bull. This is by far the tamest forum I've ever seen. You must post at the liberal backpatting societies like DU. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually it's not bull. In fact, I'm not going to be part of this forum that has been reduced to a free for all. Sorry mirror but I'm outta here. At least until the hate-filled partisan types can learn to act with manners and decorum. And to Greg, please read some of these posts. Many folks (and you know who you are) simply aren't following your rules. Adios.

Why Has Greg Abdicated His Responsibilities
newbie replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
MB, I just commented using sarcasm, you know the word well, in my response. And because the topic was about Greg, not about how you much you seem to love Bush. And you lecturing me about mean-spiritedness is rich. Could it be because I seem to disagree with your postion on just about everything. Check out some of your posts for examples of hateful rhetoric. -

Real Reason America Went To War

Uh, Dubya's own 911 commission report found no credible evidence of collaboration. But you're free to believe what you want to believe. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bull. The non-partisan 9/11 commission -which you deride as "Dubya's own commission" - said that they were obviously linked. Again, this is an undisputed fact. Pay attention, newbie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (also known as the 9-11 Commission), an independent, bipartisan commission created by congressional legislation and the signature of President George W. Bush in late 2002, is chartered to prepare a full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, including preparedness for and the immediate response to the attacks." Do you see where it says signature of President George W. Bush?" Please quote me where the commission said there was an obvious link between Saddam and Al Qaeda. -
