I'm sure if we all had lists of scandals or nut jobs in each party, the lists would be long and distinguished....

It's there all you have to do is go looking for it, and in most large cities it's not all that hard to find....the bils we spend looking after other countries blight could go a long way to fixing ours....what we need is better management...right now Canadians are desperate for a real good leader...Justin leadership skills are in the negative right now...but then again thats what you get when you mix good hair and legal pot....

With everything that has been going on lately how can you say better managed...My grand sons day care is better managed.. Canadians don't want a super power of a military, we would however like one that could keep all of our nations defensive pacts requirements.....we like one that is ready for everything our government tasks it to do....we would like it to be able to hold it's head up high....with it's soldiers , airmen, sailors to know Canadians citizens has it backs no matter what , sometimes it is the little things that count...

Don't get me wrong I loved most minutes I was in the Infantry, some days were better than others, but their was times when I did question myself WTF am I doing, when it would rain for weeks at a time and you had long ago run out of dry clothing, so wet your skin would wrinkle up all the time, your wet, tired, and cold, mind numbing cold, shivering all the time....ya those days I don't miss...although I would rather have a thousand of those days , then escort back to Canada a very good friends flag draped coffin, to his wife who I had promised to look after him, keep him safe. Those rain jackets were not rain jackets there was nothing rain proof about them, 5 mins in the rain and you were soaked anyways....we buy the US ones in Hohenfels, coated with a rubber compound your were dry if you did not move then your sweat would drench you from the inside....I remember a time we would buy most of out field kit from the kit shop....because what we were issued was shit. The Kit has only gotten better today, good gortex rain wear, nice boots, with exception of the mukluks, artic mits, sleeping bad, everything else has changed for the better,

Come on WestCanMan , you saying the entire fleet was that way, with the beer in modified pop machines in each mess deck, although I was not navy, I was on a ship for a short time, while we practiced beach landings putting Recce teams ashore in RIBs, trust me after 4 days sail from Halifax to NFLD I was one happy grunt to get off that tug boat or what every you called it, and I did mange to swallow a few beer out of those machines, and I can remember more than a few navy guys partaking in way to many as well...At that time I think it was 25 cents for a beer after so many klicks off shore....because you did not have to pay any of the taxes on it.. And while your day sounds hard to the average civy, it would be a day in the park to most Infantry men , where no sleep is routine, sometimes more than 5 to7 days in a row, now I know this sounds like a dick measuring contest....it's not, this was normal routine while out in the field.... now after 7 days your body starts to shut down, you start hallucinating like a bad acid trip, I once had a long conversation with my ruck sack , who I thought was my wife at the time, about buying a new truck, my fire team partner thought it was funney at the time, but later he tried to convince me we were about to get stampeded by cows one night, except we were in the high artic, no cows for thousands of miles ................. , after 7 days even ranger rick sandwichs were not enough " 2 slices of buttered bread, with 3 or 4 packs of instant coffee in between them" ya it tastes as good as it sounds, but it kept you up, and if that did not work there was a pocket full of coffee beans i'd be so jacked up my hands would shake, my heart would be just pounding...Then the army came out with Caffeine gum, it was like legal crack, but you could never get enough of it...that was concentrated caffeine at it's finest, but once it wore off you felt like shit.... I guess the army didn't get that copy of the QR&O,about 4 hours a night.... What we lost in the field we gained in Garrison, PT in the morning, back to work by 10 , coffee break to 10,30, then veh maint, until 11.30, lunch, back at 1, veh maint until 2 pm, more PT until 3.30 then home...Fridays we normally got off at noon... We never beat any navy guys up, can't say I was not jealous of 3 meals a day and a warm bed....

I'm not 100% sure Argus what is going to happen, but Norman has been pulled from the rotation ie career advancement for more than a year, He has already been replaced and some people have moved past him, IE the guy that is in his seat now, and the ripple effect it has all the way down the line, as they were pushed forward.......it would be a lot easier if he had been a lower rank IE more of them, and they could slide one guy to the corner....but not at vice CDS...only one of them, and they won't punish the guy out who is in the seat now...So the question is what NOW, well perhaps a command chair in NATO HQ, normally held for CDS that are not retiring, or NORAD HQ something like that.. As for baggage although we do not see any, the liberals sure do, and believe it or not some of them are in the military , could and would hold it against him. Keep in mind at that level of rank it is more about politics than military...Not to mention the fact if he does get his job back "vice CDS" , he would be replacing someone that is in the seat now, and could bring some friction at that level along with all the way down the line, remember a lot of people moved up one rung of the ladder, push that all back and a lot of people are going to be pissed.......I mean it was not his fault Justin was an asshole right. Only possibility is promoting him to CDS, as it is the Navy's turn, traditionally but that is not a hard precedent, it's been changed in the past...

Navy must have gone through some serious DT's...Screw the Navy, while I was only dreaming of beer and full time field pay, sitting in my trench with freezing rain running down the crack of my ass, the navy had been sucking back suds, and sea pay for years before the Army wise up...Yes I was jealous, and never passed up a chance to kick the crap out of some Navy Wog…. Other than the 2 world wars give us an example of Canada punching above it's weight ? please don't drink all the kool aid...As for military spending is on the rise...2019 will see a decrease in our military budget....and the liberals promises of additional spending do not take place until 2020, and we all know that they are not going to be in office, so new spending is going to be dealt by the Cons, which are no better than the Libs really.... According to one of my sources Canada is at the bottom of the list for foreign aid....contradicts some of your statement..as for refugees I think the US brings in more Mexican refugees than Canada has excepted Syrians ….so not sure what the point is here, but hey i'll give you that one, score one for Canada, does that make up for Canada being a free loader on the rest of it's military commitments, like NATO, NORAD, ABCANZ, to mention a few...Not really. Canada is no where near the in the top 6 when it comes to military spending, those numbers that you see spewed by the government include foreign aid moneys, and other spending not calculated by most countries, and to top it all off most of it's budget is spent on pay...very little goes to OEM, or operating costs , purchasing new equipment, (little stuff) like beans , bullets , etc for training, and then only if units are going operational, the rest of the units suffer, all these operations are costed again'st the Military budget, and eat up a good portion of the rest of the funds....in some cases have thrown DND into the red.........when NATO is reporting it is one of the lowest spenders of all the NATO countries, maybe the globe news is full of crap, think they fact checked the story...maybe not ... Yes you can catch more flies with honey, but then again sometimes you have to carry a big fking stick as well. Not sure where you got that Invading the US thing , but it was not from any of my posts.... Canada's cheaping out on its signed defensive treaties is not winning any hearts and minds...atleast not in any NATO countries....maybe in Russia, China, but according to the dozens of reports coming out of NATO, the UN Canada in reference to Canada is not living up to it's responsibilities. Hence the language coming out of these organizations, for us to step up instead of free loading..

Good to see you back Dougie , Vance is a wing not, atleast during is tour as CO of 2 RCR , how he got to CDS is beyond me, I was extremely happy when he left the Regt, and now I can hardly wait until he moves on from being CDS..... Norman was doing what he could to protect his Element, like any good commander he stuck his neck out when the navy desperately needed a supply ship....look what it cost him, almost everything, you don't see that happening everyday atleast in todays military. Vance is vindictive, and threw is 2 I/c under the bus, showing the entire Armed Forces what poor leadership is and not protecting his troops under him, and second for not listening to the commander of the Navy and Norman who were lobbing the CDS pretty hard for a ship and capability the military really needed.... Vance has not really pursued any large buy during his tenue, unless you count those Fing TPAV useless vehs....come to think of it all I think Vance accomplished is OP honor. and of course been the liberals yes man for his tenure... How Vance got the liberals to indorse the entire issue is also beyond comprehension...I'm hoping the CONS look at Norman for a senior position, the navy is or should be next on the list anyway....

Do you not think that Americans have had the right to question Canada's actions in the last 30 to 40 years, shrieking many of our responsibilities, such as living up to our end of all the defensive packs we have signed on to, such as NATO, NORAD, ABCAZ, not to mention our UN obligations to peace keeping ,or even responding to world disasters.. Defense of North America is suppose to be a joint effort one would think any ways...and yet we cheap out on all of that, and not just for a couple years But decades on end.. That would not erode a friendship/ trust/ respect /would it.... And for riding all those years on the cheap, when they do ask us to pony up , by spending 2 % of our GDP, we as a nation have a heart attack.....NOPE, no way, ain't doing it....that was pretty close to what our PM said was it not....That would not sway any bad feelings would it...
