What the CBC has done for you lately...
B. Max replied to Higgly's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The reason for that is because they don't have to be. They are guaranteed spots so it doesn't matter what they put out. Not every America show is an automatic hit, there are lots of them that go down the tubes as well. Who would have thought trailer park boys would have made it past square one and that's canadian, and there was talk that it was going to start running in the states. I don't know if it ever did. -
We could, but it would likely be better for us to have a few pieces of gold invested in any such plans. We sell water in bottles right now to the states and there are people trying to stop that.

Canadian shows that were worth watching would not end. As the CBC stands now it is nothing but a left wing propaganda machine paid for with dollars extorted from the taxpayer. The Canadian content business is similar to the iron curtain across Europe, but in this case it is an electronic curtain. When satellite came along in shot a few holes in that curtain. Which caused the CRTC to scramble to patch up the holes as best they could. -
I wasn't suggesting that you did. I was suggesting that there are those that do. I wonder what they would be suggesting if the temperature started heading down. No matter what I would rather have good economies. Personally I think the further away you get from the last ice age the warmer it is likely to be until the beginning of the next one.

Good for you jbg. The CBC costs us a billion a year and I have long wanted to see it sold off to private interests. -
I know this doesn't prove or disprove anything one way or another but I've been keeping an eye on it for some time now. http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/1...ef=wxeyewx14day I would estimate that about 90% of the time their predictions run below average and in fact the current temp. is -8 which is below their own forecast, and about eight inches of snow on the ground. I don't think it's possible to know what trends are until after the fact. They can't accurately predict the temperature for a few days out, can't make their climate models match what is the known historical records. So why are so many ready to turn the world up side down on predictions that extend 50 or a hundred years out. As everybody knows the climate / temp. has continually changed through out history. It is ludicrous to think that the proper response to what we already know should be to deliberately destroy economies.

A word of advise for Israel. Watch your back, looks like you might have to build a few more nukes. http://www.stangoodenough.com/2006/10/27/i...re-jews-stupid/

I guess your version of democracy doesn't include contempt for what I see as well organized traitors trying to undermine the mission. As far as democracy goes I'm not that big of a fan. "...democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths." --James Madison, Federalist No. 10 (arguing in favor of a constitutional republic)

You won't decide if you get banned. It was an open threat. Trying to now say it was just an "expression of contempt" is silly. Is that a threat. I don't decide who is banned here. If I did you would certainly be gone for saying that a machine gun should be taken to the peaceful rallies held in Canada today. Stop reading things in gerry. I guess you would have to ban youself for suggesting genocide against the right in this country.

Indeed, I would likely be willing to take arms to keep Alberta from seceding. There will be plenty in Alberta willing to take up arms to see that you don't succeed.
-
Should CSIS keep track of separatists? Actually I think they should keep an eye on guys like this. What they suggest is unconstitutional and at the very least theft. Anyway all this CSIS talk and theft plans are good for Alberta secession so keep it up.

The same people who go on about peak oil are the same who are trying to bring about peak oil.

Al-Qaeda Warns Canada to Quit Afghanistan

What's the lesson. -
Don't you hate having wackos on your side? The 'left' has them too...I generally don't paint everyone with the same bruch, and I also ignore B. Max and all the strange thing he posts, except perhaps for a chuckle. Creationism is a theory too, like evolution, but one of them is based on logic, fact, reason and evidence. Perhaps you could supply something of substance in stead of rhetoric.

Steve Milloy was the person cited as being credible on the subject of science. He isn't. Much more credible than those who flog the phony computer models.
-
This thread is about computer models and global warming, not about anything else. The rest is a red herring you are using to try and change the subject.
-
What is ridiculous. It is a fact that atheists us evolution to promote atheism. By the way evolution is a theory, not a fact. http://www.spiegel.de/international/spiege...44787%2C00.html Now what does all of this have to do with computers and global warming.
-
The far right wing doesn't use science to back its arguments. Economic treason is something that only the extremists in the far right would use. And who would they go after? Enron? Doubtful. Milloy attacks evolution and says it promotes atheism. Where is the science there? Milloy doesn't actually do research to back his assertions. The right uses real science not the junk science pushed by the left. Evolution is a theory that athiets use to promote atheism. Milloy analyzes the research. The left promote phony computer models as research fact, and waste millions of taxpayer dollars in the process.

The scientists he lists as resources on his website. They say he misinterprets the data. Steve Milloy has come out in support of the Atkins Diet and has said evolution is a plot to promote atheism. This is just a number of areas that have raised eyebrows in his Junscience website. http://timlambert.org/category/science/ Steve Milloy also tries to destroy character. http://www.grist.org/news/muck/1999/10/18/dont/ That's not debunking a thing. That is the usual character assassination from the left, and the radical left at that. These are the same outfits behind the climate fear mongering. They are anti business anti development anti private property and pro UN. I believe it was the environmental defense fund that was behinf trying to shut down a new coal mine in western Alberta a couple of years ago. Saying it was to close to Jasper park. They've been trying to grab that land outside the park for UNESCO. They did the same in yellowstone in the states where they had an operational gold mine shut down, and some other place where they've been trying to drive people off their land. This is what we need economic treason laws for. To put a stop these bastards. Signatories on the letter include: Leon Billings of Clean Air Trust, Phil Clapp of National Environmental Trust, Joan Claybrook of Public Citizen, Shelly Davis of Farm Workers Defense Fund, Lois Gibbs of the Center for Health, Environment and Justice, Gene Kimmelman of Consumers Union, Fred Krupp of Environmental Defense Fund, Bob Musil of Physicians for Social Responsibility, John Passacantando of Ozone Action, and Arlie Schardt of Environmental Media Services.
