Is Jason Kenney a Political Whore?

What a disgusting and oppressive concept, that you'd think that gay people are whores. You should be ashamed of yourself. -

Check Wiki for Iggy doing the rumba on this, and you can watch him shake his professor booty here -
Is Jason Kenney a Political Whore?

How can any decent discussion of political whores overlook the lifetime achievements of Scott Brison? -
If it is so easy to access the codes, then why is the legisaltion required at all?

Plains of Abraham re-enactment cancelled
fellowtraveller replied to blueblood's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Can you give an actual example of a battle between the West and Quebec? Hint: Alberta was not present at the Plains of Abraham. Neither was Quebec. Ralph Klein always got along with Quebec, felt they had much more in common than he had with Ottawa/Queens Park.. -
"very successful" is a considerable exaggeration. They have been somewhat successful- hence this legislation which may lower the bar. But plumping for reverse engineeringt is not the solution at the garage level, independent shops do not employ software engineers searching full time for the codes to your Volvo. They cannot afford the lawyers either, so sometimes they just cannot fix it.

It really reminded me of a different movie - 21 Grams. Not the content or characters, but the feeling that the sum of the performances was greater than the weight of the movie itself. I thought everybody in Rev Road was very, very good. Winslet has now emerged as one fo the finest actors of her generation with this effort, The Reader and another gem, Little Children. Eveybody was very good, but in the end... it was not one of the great flicks of all time, the script was not quite up to the power of the performances. Still, I'd recommend it.

National Post retreats from provinces
fellowtraveller replied to jdobbin's topic in Media and Broadcasting
We did go from one hundred and something ($120 maybe) to $85 to a soemwhat sheepish $52. I promised to send Conrad Black a cupcake but they don';t seem to have any cupcake verification officers so it looks like the $52 is all they will need. -
Agreed. And.... there is always several somebodys who have complete manuals and schematics on tap, and will gladly post any tech data required. The auto companies absolutely hate these sites, for a couple of reasons. Prospective owners flock to these sites and research actual repair isssues, instead of listening to wild claims of durability from salespeople. And they are great if you are a bit handy- any repair needed will have somebody mechanically skilled to walk a poster through any repair.
-
You are speaking of repair work, which is a different thing from maintenance. You'd have to be a certified idiot to pay for repair work from a non-dealer when the same repair is available for free on warranty from a dealer. The only 'parts' used during specified maintenance are fluids and filters. Virtually all aftermarket fluids and filters meet manufacturers specs, I say again that there is no legal or actual requirement to take your car to a dealer for maintenance, and pay $900 for 'maintenance' that takes the shop floorsweeper 90 minutes and $30 in fluids to do wrong.
-
You have options right now. There is no requiremtn to have routine maintenance work done at any dealer. You are required to maintain records of all maintenance performed, by yourself and non-dealers, to keep the warranty in effect.

National Post retreats from provinces

Intersting assumption. I was an occasional reader, and actually succumbed to a phone plea targetting Canwest subscribers, I also subcribe for years to the local CanWest rag. When they said $52, I said yes. After the first year, they wanted a hundred and something. I told them I'd pay another $52 tops, and they said yes. I think it is nearly up for renewal, I'llk take it again for that price. I like the Posts diversity of opinion, they have some strong voices from all sides of some issues. -
Ignatieff says stimulus, "Not working..."

yet you still had time to ignore it and answer with your own question. I aplaud your time management skills. -
Ignatieff says stimulus, "Not working..."
fellowtraveller replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
No. I would agree that the part of the economic statement that referred to party financing was an attempt to kick the Liberals and Bloc where it would hurt them most. It was stupid and inappropriate. It is easy to see how he'd make it, he had just spent 18 months feeding the insatiable Liberal appetite for s**t sandwiches. But, it was stil a major overplay and an attempt to gain political advantage at the wrong time. Of course, the 'Opposition' responded disproportionately to that with threats of coalition six weeks after an election.....and they have yet to actually feel the backlash from that poor decision. Ignatieff knows this and is acting accordingly. Duceppe knows this and does not care, his voter demographic is unique and almost stupidproof. Layton is alone in apparently failing to not see the danger that awaits him next campaign. He needs to get as far away from any coaltion idea as possible, at least temporarily. and like the man said, it is difficult to justify the subsidy in any case...... -

Ok, my feelings are very hurt that an advertiser would consider me unreliable. Now I feel guilty for getting such a great deal. I did have to bully them into that rate for a secodn year. -
You are performing well above the curve for 60s survivors.

I get home delivery of The National Post six days a week for $52. That's $52 per year. They cannot possibly make money at that rate. -
I swam and snorkelled in cenotes last winter. Did not see anybody diving though. Most of them are not very deep.

Ignatieff says stimulus, "Not working..."
fellowtraveller replied to Moonbox's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Excellent idea and I support it fully. But you have dodged my question. Why is that? I know you are committed to saving taxpayer money and treating all parties in a fair, and unpartisan fashion. Does the Prime Minister enjoy your support for this simple, easily implemented cut? Or not? -
I see you've done all the math and concur that ABBA happened after Woodstock. Well done.

Yes, that will defintiely save a few million. Another easily implementeed idea that would save a few million would be to end taxpayer subsidy of all political parties. What do you think?
