  1. http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/01/29/lkl.ted.haggard/index.html
  2. im gonna call man bear pig on this one. and say that our world is expanding the continental shift is a big contributor to the changing climate. and our world has gone through changes like this before. when our world was smaller we didnt even HAVE polar ice caps. just shallow oceans all over.
  3. Hmmm or even just walking to work in the morning and home at night.
  4. i hear that this movie is supposed to be good. i also saw a book version at the store. to be reccomended?
  5. Considering every Sci-Fi movie and televsion show we have ever watched has either talked about it or connoted this in some way shape or form it shouldn't bother anyone - we probably already thought it was happening up there with out actually giving it any thought. The human body is mostly water - we could go so far as to go completely "Dune" and recycle all water expended from the human body. But most people wouldnt agree to that as it might come across as a little less than connected to our own people emotionally.
  6. That's funny because my coworker and I were saying that we couldve taken the day off and watched it on tv and then said we had been there and NO ONE would have known. 2 million people. ANYONE could have been there.
  7. So I saw the broadway version in Toronto almost 10 years ago and I hadn't seen the movie version until this weekend. And I am going to have to say that it was better than I expected. Meryl Streep DOES totally carry the movie with her enthusiasm. I was impressed bby her singing even - I had no idea she had THAT kind of range.
  8. When I got my blackberry it had a NUMBER of different colours to its LED which flashed constantly to tell me different events had happened on it. Some friends would flip the phone over or ask me to turn it off. It took me a year but the turn off was hidden with in a bunch of back door programming. Insane. Now I am on an iphone and no longer do I have notification LED annoyances. However - our apple tv and other apple products all have a glowing LED of some kind. But I feel like our house is blue LED free. THank goodness.
  9. Being someone of the demographic for this movie and having quite a few friends who all adore this movie I am going to have to agree that the movie demonstrates what we hope the future of decision making wil be like. And knowing girls who have had to make some hard decisions at young ages - it is what is happening - atleast in the realm of young females who are now in their 20's. I can't speak for the younger generation who are teens now - although they have access to far more information and resources to make good decisions even when they are hard ones - it seems that alot of these teens are sticking the the superficial and easy ways and there is a certain amount of fear that all the good hard decisions that people who are in their mid 20's and 30's now had to make are being erased in a way by a culture of drones created by TOO much information and easy media that keeps them placated. Hopefully there are more "Junos" than "myspace camera angle girls" in the future.
  10. knowing all the guys one has made out with or slept with or done "things" with and how little we get back for it - emotionally or other wise. and are sometimes worse off for even having done it. and then taking into consideration how far in debt one is or how much one struggles and tries to get ahead. as a woman whos thought about this and has friends who have talked about it as well - short term knowledge of what we are doing to ourselves and getting something back for it that we deem as acceptible seems the lesser evil than continually trying to do the so called "right" thing and getting northing back but emotional pain and further down the shitter. but thats just my opinion based on extensive talks with girl friends of mine.
  11. you could say that every one involved is an exploiter in the drug situation. considering both parties know what they are doing and just exploiting their own knowledge inorder to get what they want. whether its money or drugs to get high. in the sex situation... thats harder... because sometimes the seller is doing it and they know exactly what they are doing. or take a case of someone so addicted to sex thats what they want and they are exploiting an easily accessable situation to get what they need. money and pleasure are 2 persuasive factors... people want them and will do alot to get them. alot more than msot people think about in their average day to day.
  12. haha totaly true and no study needed i think years of drunk university students at bars says it all.
  13. so amazing. my fiancee sent me this and i laughed so hard because we live in an all apple household.
