  1. If a totally unqualified nobody like 0bama can run and win, why not Rosanne?
  2. Out of the context of HISTORY. I do not need to lecture you and your politically correct ilk about the utter lack of ambition, desire, achievements of those you feel so righteously obligated to protect and defend. Is there a Ministry for Ukranian Affairs? Polish Affairs? German Affairs? White affairs? Chinese affairs? There is, indeed, a Ministry that is supported by my tax dollars that caters to the historically incompetent. But if I said who it was, I would be labeled as racist. Well, I know, I will be, anyways. I had no intention to be subtle. One is either subtle or truthful.
  3. The uber-patriotic Canadian hatred for anything American has never been at a higher pitch.
  4. I, too am close to my children. I know they are OK, because of what I leave for them. But my post, above, was an expression of concern for my grandkids.
  5. Larry David reached his thespian apex voicing George Steinbrenner and peeking through a window and addressing George Costanza as 'your majesty'. In Seinfeld. All downhill from there. CYE is a lame and pathetic effort, not worth anyone's time.
  6. Visualize this: Michael Coren on one side of the table, debating James Carville on the other side of the table. They would agree on: No need to see a barber, both being bald. The rest? Accent? Political views? Respecting others with different views? Potential for vulgarity in the heat of debate? Religion? Would be interesting, wouldn't it??
  7. Are you Al Bundy (Married with Children) who popularized: Make Pie, Eat a Pie? If you love PIE, you cornered less than one third (3.14.....) of the market.
  8. FNC would never sink low enough to covet such nobodies as Fareed Zakaria and Chriatiene Amanpour. Wolf Blitzer, perhaps. Talent goes where it is most appreciated by pay and literary freedom. The leftist, envious also-runs should do well to learn that.
  9. Let those who have never acquainted themselves with the beauty of classical music, wallow in their chosen and self-imposed ignorance. And I do not mean that in any offensive way, because I am quite ready to admit that I am ignorant - by my own choice - of noise made by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones and any post-Beatles R&R groups. As for me, my taste in music is quite eclectic. I love pre-Beatles Rock n' Roll, classic oldies, country music and blues, delivered without screeching and wailing and shouting and insane guitar-smashing. My favourites, however, are CLASSICAL. To paraphrase a bumper sticker I've seen on an eighteen-wheeler: If it ain't classical, it ain't no music. Give me Capriccio Italiano. Give me any of Liszt's Hungarian rhapsodies. Give me just about any and all overtures, concertos, symphonies and operas and operettas. Well, that is my take.
  10. Maybe not the ONLY good thing, but definitely THE best thing about getting old is to see your grand children growing, getting smarter and getting more beautiful each and every day. I feel sorry for old folks to whom fate/life denied this joy and pleasure. My wife and I gave up a mortgage free home and moved 2,000 kms when our daughter wrote to us that our first grand child was on the way. No regret, just the joy, especially in view of the fact that we managed to buy a house just across the street from our daughter's place. The sad part is, though, that I know that my grand kids will never have what I had. The selfishness of the current generation, especially the thoroughly spoiled baby-boomers (I am 10 years too old to qualify for that dubious title) makes it clear and sad that they could not have cared less about the world they left behind. Unless, of course, if their benevolence benefited a spotted owl or a striped titmouse. I am glad I will not be here to see the struggle that my grand kids will have to face, compared to which the world of 'Soylent Green' will appear like a fairy tale.
  11. Oleg, I guess you did not see the quote marks ("), indicating that I quoted someone else. That would explain the fact that you also failed to see the humour in my post. Let up a little and smile! Will do you good.
  12. "Are you serious? You think this is evidence that what she says is worthwhile? You must be a big fan of Naomi Klein, then." Who is Naomi Klein?
  13. How come people who have no valid argument, pick out selected phrases/sentences from other posts, take them totally out of context, play the morality card and inevitably, ALWAYS resort to name-calling.
  14. Conrad Black chose to renounce his Canadian Citizenship in order to become Lord Clarance Elmsworth of the British Upper house of dotty old, aristocratic, in-bred doddering fools. Let him go back there. His ilk is not - should not be - welcome in Canada.
  15. If the proposed teaching of gay history is not a regular class, but extracurricular activity, the unionized indoctrinators - formerly known as teachers - will be happy to pick up overtime pay.
  16. "God bless America. Jesus would have been so proud. I can see Jesus now, kicking a homeless beggar in the face, then laughing as he gets into his BMW for a drive to the golf club." If Jesus was here today, His vehicle would not be a BMW, but a Christler.
  17. As long as the games are FREE on TV.
  18. What is the three letter word that can be preceded by 10 single consonants and just as many or more two consonant combinations and still be a valid word?
  19. In other words - perhaps not so politically correct - they were lazy, unambitious, happy-in-crap and cowardly to move out of their comfort zone. Gee, nothing has changed!!!
  20. Would you care to provide some proof that: 1. You, yourself, are NOT an ignorant hack and 2. The sources where you heard of her are valid, which convinced you of your opinion of her and 3. She purposefully ignores information for political purpose and 4. She is a multiple time best-selling author strictly for being an 'ignorant hack'. And if you are willing to be so kind, list all your TV appearances and your best-selling books. Thank you.
  21. August 2nd will NOT be Armageddon in the United States, if the debt ceiling debate is not resolved. But it will be in my house if I forget that it is our 42nd wedding anniversary.
  22. Let us not forget that whatever evil Europeans brought to the Native Americans, it was far more than repaid by the 'gift' of tobacco, which was unknown in Europe prior to 1492. The dirty blankets may have spread small pox, then, but tobacco still kills and kills and kills. And BTW, what did ever stop natives of other continents to come and explore Europe?
  23. Just a guess, but I do not think that you would describe Michael Moore the same way.
  24. Kind of like your idol, still blaming Bush, after two and a half years.
  25. 0Bama, aka Carter II, has lost any traction he ever had, and his days President are numbered. There are many obvious reasons, but this is worth mentioning: http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/07/obama_the_bore.html
