I am not a tough guy. I fact I am a gentle and giving person. I gave up two weeks of my six week vacation while I was still working to do charitable work in Homestead, Florida, Chavais, Kentucky, Albany, Georgia, Portage de Sioux, Missouri, Halifax, Nova Scotia, St. Johns, Newfoundland, Regina, Saskatchewan, Ottawa, Ontario in the years when I was still working and my health permitted to do so. Can you display the uniform of the AlQuaida? The nation it represents? Can you produce the signature of same on the Geneva Convention? Once you do, you can talk about the Geneva Convention. When I first decided to put my two cent's worth in on this thread, I was sure that sooner or later this thread would follow the usual pattern: 1. Losers, having nothing left to say will resort to call anyone they disagree with, RACIST. 2. Canadian losers, will resort to the usual Yankee-bashing. Batting a 1000 so far. 3. This is still to happen, but for the two plainly obvious observation, above, I will be advised in quite unflattering manner to move to America and/or perform an anatomically impossible deed. 4. As usual, I will be right, and they will be proven wrong. But back to the topic: those of us who don't like bedbugs, would do just about everything to eliminate them. There are those of us who firmly believe that unions are like bedbugs. And then there are those whose entire existence revolves around being bit in the ass and enjoying it. pinko, why the antagonism? When I came to Canada it was accepted that people from different parts of the world provide a different prospective of life. Surely as a born citizen of this country, you will not deny that. When I came to Canada no one ever told me that I had to kow-tow to any political persuation. So, I did NOT!! I have my own views, my own opinions whether you like them or not. Yes, I am thankful to Canada for giving me a home. But it is not the same as being thankful to unions who have done absolutely NOTHING for me. Sorry! Collective bargaining? It is for the mentally challenged incompetents. Pinko, picture a new wave of immigrants to Canada, late fifties, early sixties, those of us who know more than your ancestors and obviously more than you will ever know. pinko, I stayed with the company of my choice, but I moved in to the non-union side. It was my choice and I took it. No regrets, no sorry, in fact glory alleluyah!! My 37 years with the same company was REAL, not a figment of my imagination. If there is any story to be relegated to the world of fantasy it is that unions ever helped anyone except their own executives. Pity that lowly members fell for the crap that they were ever represented by the fat cat union executives. I DID move to a non-union shop. It was called the Company, who signed my pay-cheque.

It indeed pleases me that what I have in my life (however little it might seem compared to the ripped off theft benefiting union members) I have the pride that I earned it for myself. I've EARNED my Canadian Citizenship, unlike the boobs, who by sheer luck were born here. And yes, I heard the mantra, time and time again, from those who have been Canadian Citizens far shorter than I have been: Go where you came from/move. I am probably happier with my life than you are with yours. After all, I EARNED my citizenship, you on the other hand had the blind luck to be born into it. I EARNED all the benefits in my life without union thugs terrifying decent people on my behalf. I opted out of unions as soon as as I could, unlike you who swore fealty to them. I saved me lots of dollars by not being a slave to the Rand formula, unlike you and your ilk. Let's face it: Jealousy will get you nowhere.

As someone who escaped from the Communist paradise, I can say with authority, that under the Communist rule, unions enjoyed the same privileges as they do under our decreasingly free so-called capitalistic system: Extort membership dues.
