  1. This statement is the antithesis of Canadian values. The author is making a false allegation against our Head of State. That is the opposite of Conservatism. To answer your question, it is a scam. The author is ignorant of Canada, appears to be uneducated in basic biology, chemistry and physics, hence his dismissal of the established research into mitigation proceedures to halt the spread of contagion and the irrational denial of the effects of greenhouse gases on temperature re-radiation of the earth. He is out to sell books and nothing sell better in the book store than a treatise full of lies. Blackbird, as a friend, I implore you to spend your money more wisely.
  2. Then you can rejoice because in about 18 months, Pierre Poilievre will be appointed Prime Minister. You say Rosenberger is not a communist, but he is against the very foundation of Canadian conservatism. His praise for the revolutionaries who attempted to hold the nation hostage with an illegal occupation of the capital, forced the closure of the Rideau Centre, blocked border crossings putting tens of thousands of people out of work, and allegedly conspired to murder Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers near Coutts, Alberta. They did all this while flying foreign flags. They issued a threat to overthrow the government. If that doesn't smack of the stench of the Red Guards, I don't know what is.
  3. I don't know what the American election has to do with Canada any more than the recent election in Bangladesh. In 2020, the US election was held during a deadly pandemic in which over a million Americans died. President Biden avoided encouraging large gatherings to prevent more deaths. He was elected because he received more votes from the electoral college. I presume you were campaigning for the candidate of your choice in the last election. Did he or she win? While you were out knocking on doors for your candidate in the election in your constituency, did you see any hint of election abnormalities? If so, did you report them? Did your candidate have a srutineer at the polling stations to observe the casting and counting of ballots? Did any of them percieve any irregularities? Now, you allege that the 338 separate elections held in 2021 were rigged. Were all of them rigged or just some? If your accusation is accurate, why would the people rigging it have ensured the Government did not receive a majority? You speak of multiculturalism as if it was something new. The government of Sir John A. MacDonald brought in immigrants from the Ukraine, Ireland, Russia, Scotland, Germany, China, and people of colour from the United States 150 years ago. Under the Laurier and Borden governments this grew to include south Asians, Japanese and Italians. Going further back, in the 17th century, we had immigrants from France, and in the 18th century, tens of thousands of American conservatives arrived as refugees from the United States. If that is too new for you, we took in thousands of East Asians between 15,000 and 12,000 years ago. You try to bind globalism with communism. Globalism is the trading philosophy of free enterprise and communism is the virtually extinct extremity of totalitarian Marxism. That would be far more incongruous than a union betweem Maxime Bernier and Jagmeet Singh. oil and water. My opinion is a bit different than yours my friend. 🥰
  4. Have faith. Pierre Poilievre will be appointed Prime Minister in just about 18 months.
  5. Are you saying you weren't saying something different when it was the protesters who shut down Ottawa who were breaking the law? (ie. criminal mischief Sec. 430 (1) Criminal Code of Canada)
  6. I don't know if he is a globalist eleite WEF, but he does sound like a communist to me. He is the author of the book referred to in th OP.
  7. The latest polling analysis by Canada338 shows the CPC down by one seat and the Liberals up 3 seats. CPC 190, LPC 86, Bloc 32, NDP 28, Greens 2. Mr. Poilievre will be appointed Prime Minister after the next election.
  8. CanFox missed Murray Mandryk on Saskatoon Morning this morning. Too bad.
  9. The Provincial government hasn't made the decision yet. They haven't announced what will happen to our Climate Action Incentive payments. The Federal government sends out the rebate four times a year. If I reduce my personal use of fossil fuels, I get back more than I pay in carbon tax. If the Provincial government follows through with this threat, it is going to cost us money. Now they are considering not collecting the carbon tax but paying it to the feds out of general revenue. Minister Duncan seems to be having second thoughts. He is retiring in a few months and doesn't want to have his going away party in jail. (He announced some time ago he "would go to jail" over this issue. Now that the time is nigh, he is regretting that silly promise.) To add to what this will cost us, we are going to be saddled with all the legal fees Premier Moe and Minister Duncan are going to run up.
  10. When I read posts that use the words "globalist, climate hoax, elites, WEF, wuhan flu, libtard, marxist, etc.," I immediately know it is the sound of a meaningless burp coming from the deepest bowls of a rabbit hole. Edit: Good lord, how could I forget "woke".
  11. Sorry for the thread drift. Leaving the Constitution aside, I agree with much of CanFox’ comments on FPTP.
  12. I would never accuse you of making it up but your claim is unsupported.
  13. This claim is news to me.Could you provide some context as to when and why he said that. I'm sure such an event would have been reported.
  14. Just how do you propose we do that? It is at the heart of the Constitution, double locked. Also, why would we? We have a Head of State, trained from birth for the role, and costs us nothing. What would you replace the Crown with? A politician like Trump, Biden or Putin? We tried that after the Civil War. After fifteen years, we begged to have the King back. They have served us since Cerdic splashed ashore.Out of the last 45 monarchs, we had 8 who were lacking. I can't think of 8 Presidents of the US who were any good.
  15. Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone. We express concern about China's intensions towards Taiwan but China see's Taiwan as a province of China just as we view Alberta and Quebec as an integral part of Canada. If either attempted to separate, we would have a civil war. The USA is the same with their civil war. We just have to embrace our hypocacy. We can hope China's recent announcements are just an attempt to influence the election in Taiwan. Would you rather we fight China and Russia at the same time?
  16. You mean they provided for their own constituants before bailing us out? Gee why don't we do that? 😁 Gee, so you are saying the Soviet Union in WW2 wasn't our ally or are you saying they weren't communist? Who cares if China is communist? Why does that make them our enemy? I did read Operation Dropshot. Thanks. Operation World War III: Secret American Plan (Dropshot) for War with the Soviet Union in 1957 (1979). ISBN 0853681236. by Anthony Cave Brown The USSR was a threat because of their belligerence. The fact that a country is communist or capatalist should not be an impediment to good relations or a reason to consider them an enemy. We did not break off relations with Cuba when Castro took over. It is inappropriate to tell other countries how to govern themselves. I can imagine how we would get our knickers in a twist if a hypothetical French President shouted "Vivre Quebec Libre," from a balcony in Quebec. When we butt into another country's affairs such as Prime Minister Trudeau lecturing President Xi on how he could improve China, we saw how effective that was. At times like this where Europe is in peril because Russia is once again belligerent, we need all the allies we can get. We are in jeopardy, not from some ideology but one man's ego. Like it or not, China is only going to grow in power, even with their current economic troubles. When the bar lets out and you and your friends are facing off against a group of loud mouth thugs, you should be standing behind the two biggest guys in your gang.
  17. I like the idea of people being wealthy. I find it curious that CEO's are singled out for criticism when there are many other people who make more money without criticism. Provided the wealth is legally acquired, I am all for it. When I posted the OP, I figured I would be lucky to have two or three responses. Thank you all for offering your views.
  18. I'm not ignoring it. I just find it interesting that so many people target the incomes of CEO's but not entertainers. We pay Taylor Swift a billion dollars to sing some songs. She has the business acumen to do that. One of the most astute entertainers is Dolly Parton. She may not be as financially well off as Ms. Swift, but she is an incredible business person and on top of that, she's a nice person.
  19. The Trump administration separated families, and would not allow asylum seekers to claim asylum at the point of entry. They had to apply from Mexico. That is illegal. Any person who is at a port of entry and claims asylum must, by law, be admitted and to have their claim investigated and processed. That is not only international law, but US law, passed by Congress and up held by the SCOTUS. They cannot be removed until that process is complete.
  20. The left's hair is catching fire on the news a top CEO in Canada is making almost $15 million. True, they make the annual income of a worker in about 8 and a half hours. It is funny. There is a guy who's job is to hit a ball with a stick who makes almost twice what that CEO makes. George Springer, a Toronto Blue Jay will earn $24.5 million this year to play a game. He doesn't produce anything. He gets paid to entertain people. Don't get me wrong. I love the Blue Jays. I just think there need to be some perspective. When you think of how much we are willing to spend on entertainment, ie. people who play games or stand up and sing a song or pretend to be a character in a movie, it reveals we have different priorities from past generations.
  21. With a surging economy, President Biden is still lagging in the polls. That shows people are more concerned about the southern border than the economy. It is the border issue that will re-elect President Trump. It is the gift that keeps on giving to the former President. There is no legal remedy for the growing migration across the border. The GOP just has to keep up the mantra that President Biden has to stop people from crossing the border. When asked how, they say Biden is encouraging it. The truth is, President Biden knows this issue is costing him the election and if he had a way to solve the problem he would do it. There is no legal way to solve the border crisis. It is only going to get worse. President Trump loves it because it will give him back the Presidency, and after that, he has no incentive to solve it. Let them come, because he cannot run again so why should he care. As long as the Secret Service keeps them away from his golf resort, he doesn't have any reason to do anything.
  22. So, nuclear power. Why, then, should we not just use the power from the nuclear reactor rather than using it to produce hydrogen. The production of hydrogen consumes a lot of energy. The advantage of nuclear power is we have enough uranium to bridge the gap until we can get thorium reactors up and running and the carbon footprint is low. You re-build and electrify the rail networks to replace tranpertation that uses fossil fuels.
  23. You mean they provided for their own constituants before bailing us out? Gee why don't we do that? 😁 Gee, so you are saying the Soviet Union in WW2 wasn't our ally or are you saying they weren't communist? Who cares if China is communist? Why does that make them our enemy? Where do you get the energy required to produce the hydrogen?
  24. Harper was republican if he said that, not conservative. There is a vast difference. It is not a left-right question. However, it doesn't matter because the Crown in Canada is so locked in to the Constitution regardless of what happens to the Crown in any other nation, it will remain in Canada forever. Perhaps Mr. Harper was having a senior's moment when he forgot that without the Queen's signature, he would not be Prime Minister. The same goes for Mr. Poilievre. When he wins the election, he still requires the King to appoint him. Of course, the King is a loyal Canadian and loyal to the conventions of the Constitution, but, as Michael Valpe said, the Prime Minister doesn't own the power, the power is merely lent to him.
