Soap made from human Jewish fat on sale in Canada!
CANADIEN replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
My point was not that Christians did not join the Nazi Party, or that centuries of distortion of true Christianity through anti0Sematism did not lead to the Holocaust, since it did. It was a comment as to whether or not Hitler himself could be termed a Christian. Christians who followed Hitler betrayed their call to be followers of God. That being said, one cannot dismiss it by saying that the ideology had nothing to do with (false) teachings that have circulated within the Church for centuries on hand. And I won;t be one to dismiss it. -
Obama's census choice: simply African-American
CANADIEN replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Your hatred of anything to the left of idiots like Coulter and Beck is such that you would make an issue out of THIS? If Obama had checked multiple boxes, morons would accuse him of trying to hide his true identitiy, and you would applaud them. So feel free to make a fool of yourself by hinting that somehow this "proves" his so called-hatred of Whites. You'll at least provide a good laugh. -
Always ready and eager to jump to the defense of media nuts when they are in the right side of things, aren't you? Let see some of what Beck actually said, shall we? "I beg you look for the words social justice or economic justice on your church Web site," "If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. ... Am I advising people to leave their church? Yes! If they're going to Jeremiah Wright's church, yes! "If you have a priest that is pushing social justice, go find another parish," he said. "Go alert your bishop and tell them, 'Excuse me, are you down with this whole social justice thing?' If it's my church, I'm alerting the church authorities: 'Excuse me, what's this social justice thing?' And if they say, 'Yeah, we're all in on this social justice thing,' I am in the wrong place." Taking a few examples of people who pepper their commitment to social justice with hateful or racist propaganda to draw the false conclusion that social justice equates nazism or communism is, quite frankly, ignorant. It ignores calls in the Bible and early Christian authors. It ignores teachings of the Catholic Church from Leon XIII to the current Pope. It ignores Desmond Tutu, Martin Luther King and countles authors. His spokespersons may try and try to argue that he was only addressing ways the concept of "social justice" is used. But that subtle distinction is not to be found in what he said. It wasn't "if you hear social justice, ask what they mean", but "if you hear those words, run". But then, damage control is a tradition of the nut fringe.

I know I am not the first one to notice it, but Mr. Canada appears to be a regular attendee at the parade.

Hitler rarely if ever attended Mass as an adult. And for statement of him that seems to indicate that he considered himself to be a Christian, one can find statements in which he denounced Christiannity. The truth about Hitler is that besides his anti-Semetism and racism, his religious, philosophical and political views were all over the place. He certainly believed there was a God, he was raised a Catholic, and he found inspiration in a long tradition of Christian anti-Semetism, but he is bo more Christian (or anti-Christian) than he was a socialist or a capitalist. -
Canada caters to France and their cultural ideologies
CANADIEN replied to Leafless's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Actually, some friends of mine (he's from London and English-speaking, she's from Laval and French-speaking) have decided that their son would attempt French school. Warning Canadians - one today, millions tomorrow. -
Catholic Sex Abuse Criticism = Anti-Semitism?
CANADIEN replied to Smallc's topic in Religion & Politics
No need. Your own words did it for you. BTW, I do KNOW that the Church will survive even the latest of the harm brought to it by many of its own members. And I hope that it will learn from this mistake. And I most certainly do not wish for the memory of what was done to be erased, for only memory will nesure it does not happen again. I most definitely want for the voices of those who called for the Church to mend its ays to be remembered. What will hopefully be forgooten will be the voices of those who shamelessly used the pain of suffering of the victims as fuel for their own hatred. -
Catholic Sex Abuse Criticism = Anti-Semitism?
CANADIEN replied to Smallc's topic in Religion & Politics
The problem with equating crtics of the scandal with hatred for the Chruch is that once in a while you can find people who fit the stereotype to a cue - you for example. Unfortunately for you, the Church will survive this. Not without pains and a clean-up of attitudes, but it will survive long after your pathetic use of the suffering of children to nourish your own hatred has been forgotten. -

Nice of you not to address the rest of my sentence - the fact that by far and large there has been admission of and repentence for the cover-up. -
Catholic Sex Abuse Criticism = Anti-Semitism?
CANADIEN replied to Smallc's topic in Religion & Politics
Over the past few days, some Canadian bishops and priests have have condemned not only the abuse but also the over-up. To quote my own parish priest: "There is no place for child abusers, or cover-ups, or excuses". That's what I want to hear from the higherst level of authority in the Church. Regreats and apologies to God, to the victims and to all the faithful not only for the child abuse, but also for the betrayal that occurred through denial and cover-up done for the sake of protecting the institution. Instead, what we have heard from Rome is apologies for the abuse only. Not good enough. Nor is the past few days is in outrageous lashing out at the critics. Nothing short from a full apology for the cover-up, a full disclosure by the Pope of what his involvement was or wasn't, and an non-equivocal commitment to full disclosure and cooperation with civil aithorities in future cases of abuse is acceptable. -
Canada caters to France and their cultural ideologies
CANADIEN replied to Leafless's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Yoo really are cluesless, aren't you? The reason why I do not need to assimilate to be a Canadian is that I AM a Canadian, and so is my language, and so is my culture. Legislation simply recognizes that FACT. As for the claim that English-speaking Canadians are being assimilated because there areroad signs in French AND English in New Brunswick, library services are offered in French AND Enlgish in Ottawa, and some post offices offer services in French AND English in Vancouver is so incredibly stupid that I was not expecting it even from you (and my expectations about you are very low already). But hey, feel free to provide proof of your claim. How many Enlgish-speaking Canadian families have switched to using only French at home and in their daily lives since, let's say, 2001? Sure, you can provide numbers, right? Even Hitler would think this is an idiotic statement. -

Except when it comes to French-speaking Canadians, where assimilation is your goal. Spare us the hypocrisy, will you? They should stay and fight for their rights. -
Catholic Sex Abuse Criticism = Anti-Semitism?

When was the last time a school board trustee or school offcials evoked anti-Semetism in response to criticism? -
Correction. You just gave an example of the argument used by ignoramus to "prove" a link that has not been proven. You cannot change that fact, no matter how much a fool you make of yourself.
-
Which is why virtually all gay and lesbian groups want nothing to do with NAMBLA. Never mind that the vast majority of SCIENTIDIC studies on the topic have concluded a link could not be established. Guess we can lump that with your flying bodily fluid theory.
-
Leaving aside the FACT that criticism of actions by the Government of Israel does not equate anti-Semitism... Do you plan to keep your camera running if marchers carrying signs critical of the Government or the State of Israel are physically assaulted? One such assault apparently occured at last year's parade, unlike your imaginary bodily fluids flying in the air in the direction of unsuspecting children.
-
If they are actually within one or two feet. The possibility of that happening is virtually nil. In fact, as I said, I am still waiting for something that would convince me that sexual acts occur in the middle of Yonge street during the Pride parade. As we all know, pedophilia is unrelated to same-sex or opposite sex sexual preference. There has never be to my knowledge a single sex assault on a child reported at a Pride parade, the most likely reason being that, guess what, none occurs. Peodphiles are coward, and are unlikely to strike in large gatherings. And if they did, the Santa Claus parade would offer far more opportunities. Then again, how many sexual assualts on children are reported during the Santa Claus parade? Not to say of course that parents should not be careful in any public gathering. But the Pride parade is most likely no more or less dangerous than other large public gathering, especially those directed at children.

Catholic Sex Abuse Criticism = Anti-Semitism?
CANADIEN replied to Smallc's topic in Religion & Politics
School boards do not routinely try to hide cases of sexual abuse. And people speaking at official events do not evoke anti-Semitism in the hope of silencing critics. -
Any place where sexual acts are performed in public is no place for children. That being said, the risk of bystanders (adults or children) getting infected as a result of sex acts allegedly taking place at the Toronto Gay Parade (and I have still to hear anything that would convince me that such acts actually occur) is about as high as the risk of a plane crashing in the niddle of Yonge right in the middle of the parade. It is sad that some have nothing better to propose than such stupid arguments when it is more tan sufficient to say that sexual activities has no place in public space and that children should not have to witness it.
-
One to three feet away it's not called watching, its called participating. See, you can make sense at times.
-
I espected you to make a fool of yourself by arguing that I have no regard for public health, and as usual you were most eager to deliver. I would be sorry (for you) that you are unable to grasp simple facts, such as the facts STD's are not airborne and bodlly fluids generally do not go flying feet away during sexual acts, and I would hope that you would get informed before writing non-sense. I said would, because I much prefer the comic releif that you provide.
-
There hasn't been one person on this thread who has argued that sex acts performed on the street, on sidewalks or any other public space was a good thing. Guess why? Because nobody thinks it is. Me included. Yet, there has plenty of postings making fun, or otherwise pointing at the stupidity of your "position" that people witnessing a sex act are at risk of being infected through flying bodily fluids. Gues why? Because people recognize it is atupid. Either you play stupid, or you actually believe that bit of non-sense. Either way, don't come whining personal attack, because you have brought it upon yourself. Don't claim people should not take you to task on the spot for what you say, because it is you who turns the thread into a farce in the first place. But please, please reply, as I fully expect, that I somehow like the idea of people having sex in a public space or that I don't mind children getting AIDS. I need a good laugh right now.

Catholic Sex Abuse Criticism = Anti-Semitism?
CANADIEN replied to Smallc's topic in Religion & Politics
Even if that's not what that preacher had in mind, he should have known that a lot of people would come to that conclusion. Circling the wagon and lashing violently (and in this case) stupidly) at the critics will not hide the fact that many in the Chruch hierarchy have tried for years and years to cover up abuse committed by some priests for no other reason than to preserve the image of the institution. In doing so, they've betrayed their Chruch, the faithful and God. Shame on them. -
And of course you expect sane people to believe you actually witnessed it. Nope, what is a laughing matter is your rambling about flying body fluids.

If you are unable to see the difference between hatred and justifiable anger at the cover up of crimes against children by high-ranking Church officials, that's says a lot about your graps of simple logic.
