      It's richly ironic... he was loved by conservatives because he used his right to free speech to offend "lefties".   He lost his job and his book deal because he used his right to free speech in a way that offended "the right".

      He was on a "free speech tour" of campuses to highlight "politically correct censorship"... gets booted from CPAC because of "conservative censorship". He loved to highlight the things that liberals don't let you say... apparently forgot that there are things that conservatives won't let you say.  Oops.

      Now that he's an unemployed immigrant, I assume conservatives will be clamoring for him to be deported.

    I said I agree with you for the most part... but then you come up with this. Langevin thought of natives as less than people. There were those who didn't think like that at all. So, no... if you condemn that way of thinking, you don't condemn everyone in the entire world in that era. Lots of people thought like Hitler as well. Henry Ford... Some of the Royal family...

    Smart moves... rent the equipment from USA which has plenty of military equipment. We don't need to pay for the stuff just to have it sit around and wait for the next ice storm.

    This should be obvious.... but natives didn't abandon their homelands to embrace something new.... I don't disagree with the rest of your post. So where is the line drawn? Does Germany name things after Hitler? Of course not... he was so bad that no one would ever think of doing that.... So Langevin was obviously no Hitler... how awful do your actions have to be before we don't name things after you?

    It was a very bad idea to give huge companies a monopoly and a bad idea to continue it today. BC has a pretty good system of private and public liquor stores.

    Canada will always do what is in Canada's interest... we don't give away our sovereignty that easily... It's unpatriotic to hope that the country will just roll over to the USA. Then they won't get their air defence systems in our country. Simple.

    Canada already covers more than its fair share of NATO. 6.6% That's plenty. More than most NATO members... We'll pay lip service to an increase in defence spending until Trump is gone. We certainly don't want to be helping the USA when its not even clear if Russia is having undue influence on American politics/defence policy.
