And people accused of a crime cannot be compelled to testify, not even in court. You're asking for Elections Canada to have powers that are unconstitutional.

Ontario Stricter on Vaccine Requirements
Bryan replied to Mighty AC's topic in Health, Science and Technology
I've been wondering about this. If the vaccines work as advertised, and you and your kids are vaccinated, why are you concerned about being around people who are not vaccinated? -
Right, and cases get sent to court when there's evidence to support that.
-
Police don't even have those powers. This isn't the Soviet Union, we actually have rights in this country.
-
If you're ever accused of a serious crime, and your lawyer does NOT insist that you keep quiet and offer nothing without a warrant, get a different lawyer. Besides, The National Post, The CBC, The Council of Canadians, the Opposition parties, Leadnow.ca, etc, etc, all claimed THEY had evidence. They actually had nothing. They invented this whole fake scandal out of thin air.

Prescott is the one he's excited to face in court.

Yeah: http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/04/03/former-campaign-worker-granted-immunity-after-he-gives-evidence-in-pierre-poutine-robocalls-case/ It could just be bravado to keep up a brave face in public, but Sona sure seems pretty excited at the opportunity to face his accusers in court.
-
That should be interesting, considering Sona himself is quite happy now that he knows who is going to be testifying against him.
-
The investigation wasn't a total bust, we did get to see Liberal, NDP, and Council of Canadians people fined for THEIR illegal robocalls.
-
Quoting me out of context, awesome. MOE is irrelevant in a discussion over who's final polls most accurately predicted the actual voting result.
-
Margin of error measures confidence, not accuracy. You can have a big MOE when you're not sure of the data, and still come in bang on. Get back to be when you learn what you're talking about.
-
Link for those who missed it: http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/04/24/robocalls-probe-halted-as-commissioner-says-theres-not-enough-evidence-for-charges/ I can't wait to see what the next big lie the left dreams up will be. Guelph? We knew all along that shenanigans went on there with at least two of the local clients (the LiberaIs there have already been fined for their Robocalls) I strongly suspect that not a lot is going to come of the trial against Michael Sona though. Sona is pretty happy now that he has seen who is planning to testify: http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/04/03/former-campaign-worker-granted-immunity-after-he-gives-evidence-in-pierre-poutine-robocalls-case/

I never said anything of the kind. I said that A-R's polling in the 2011 election most accurately predicted the final outcome. Because it it did. This particular poll absolutely could be just an outlier -- I made no comment to the contrary.
-
You're both being really stupid. Worrying about margin of error over whether the numbers are actually accurate is like saying "yeah, we lost, but we covered the spread." Margin of error is a useful metric for tracking where you went wrong. If your numbers are literally more accurate than the other guys', he did NOT predict better just because he covered his MOE.
-
You try to keep up…AR did better than Nanos, PERIOD. AR had NDP at the exact number that Nanos did, it's their CPC numbers that were more accurate. Margin of error is irrelevant, the ACTUAL numbers are what matters. If you're closer to the final vote, you're more accurate, FULL STOP.

Cutting The Cord -- How to leave cable companies?
Bryan replied to August1991's topic in Arts and Culture
Local is King. SaskTel is the same thing as MTS within Saskachewan. In both cases, the "Big Guys" are actually the small players for the local market. Shaw does compete well with MTS here, but even that's only because they bought the local cable company. Rogers? Telus? Pretty small here, not really any competition. Bell is practically nonexistent here. I've never even heard of Videotron, they definitely have no presence here. -
Canada's middle class forges ahead of US - NY Times
Bryan replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
They absolutely DO lie, and the link I provided showed why. -
oh my Waldo! Angus Reid included not only their data, but everyone else's on the last page of the press release. Nanos came in third.

There's a reason dishonest people pick 1980: it's the only time you can cherry pick where it makes the current success appear to be less impressive than it really is -- even then, you have to be deliberately lying to make it look that way. http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2014/04/23/andrew-coyne-it-might-not-actually-be-the-richest-middle-class-on-the-planet-but-canada-certainly-isnt-struggling/
