That's because they were still holding to the socialist dream until they woke up and realized that they really had run out of other people's money.

Greece? Add about 4% to Harper's Numbers
Bryan replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes he did. He shouldn't have had to though, because it's obvious to anyone who thinks about it for more than a second: A lot more older people living a lot longer than ever before. -
Better than the economists were predicting. Considering just how badly the Ontario govt is tanking their economy, the serious economic issues in Europe and China, and that oil hasn't gone back up over $60 yet, we're doing remarkably well. They've grossly exaggerated the economic picture for Canada for going on 10 years now, wouldn't expect them to stop now. Meanwhile, in the real world: The best recession ever

People have been saying that since 2004. They have been wrong every single time. When you point out exactly what someone else said, in their own words (which is all any of the Conservative "attack" ads have done), people do pay attention and make a decision whether they agree with it or not.

French is the extravagant expense for us. If you are a French speaking nation, you need to learn english. If you do business (or politics) internationally, and you don't speak english, you are at a huge disadvantage. Since we already speak english, doing everything in french is an additional expense unnecessary. People who want to learn it still can, people who want to speak it still can. There's just no reason for the government to pay for it.

Trudeau was #1, now he's #3. They work. They'll work when they get turned on Mulcair too.

French only would be an even worse waste of money. English is the international language of commerce and trade. The one where there's an economic advantage to learn it if you don't know it already. Sticking with english-only would be an advantage for us. Sticking with french would be a disadvantage.

The first one you posted might be a little wider than necessary, but the second one is perfectly reasonable.

I know she says that, but she doesn't mean it.

You can always identify someone who has no argument when they resort to "check your privilege". What's next, are you going to call him a "cracker"?

The first two answers in the poll are the same thing. They/their/them as singular neutral is the status quo. And it's perfectly fine. Making up NEW pronouns? Yeah, It's really nutty. Fringe lunatic nutty.

Not only is a certain degree of spread necessary, standing up only to shake them out and reposition, then sit down a little wider than before is also sometimes required. I just measured it, and in order to sit comfortably in my office chair, a minimum of 38 cm of spread between my knees is needed.

A simplified tax code with next to no credits and a flat rate will still bring in significant revenue, One thing the Conservatives have proven conclusively is that trickle down absolutely DOES work -- lower taxes means more government revenue. Couple that with even less expenditures overall as Libertarian policies would do, and they quite likely would actually have more money available for the important things. We are in agreement there.
