  1. Good for them, they can keep using it. Those that don't want it will have a choice.
  2. It's also rendered moot by the fact that no one is trying to get rid of the Wheat Board anyway. This was never about shutting down the CWB. If farmers really want it, they can keep it. But some farmers that want the choice, and they should have it.
  3. I don't have a problem with peaceful protests that have a specific message. If it's a cohesive argument aimed at a specific possible change for a rational reason, go to it. Doesn't matter if I or anyone else shares your point of view, if you have a point, make it. This "Occupy" movement in Canada? I don't see any of that. What is it that they are specifically trying to accomplish? It's scattershot and non-sensical.
  4. Absolutely not. The U.S. has been caught fabricating "evidence" against other countries far too many times. Enough is enough.
  5. I too am wondering how much experience you've actually had with unions. The ones I've had to deal with were a lot more anti-worker than any corporation (or government) that I've had to deal with. Forcing them to be open and transparent is a good thing for the workers as far as I'm concerned.
  6. How does one go about consuming something without possessing it? If what you claim were true, there would be no such thing as cavity searches for suspected drug smugglers.
  7. The other changes don't concern me in the least, but I sure as heck would like to know why he wanted the Canada wordmark removed.
  8. Ideological stupidity is believing that facilitating criminal activity is a positive effect. There are countries who deal with drugs much more harshly than the U.S, and they have much better results.
  9. Where do the drugs come from? Ignoring reality doesn't count.
  10. Really? So nobody is doing drugs inside the building? Those hundreds of overdoses never happened then?
  11. Nothing of the sort has happened in this thread. It's the Liberal hug a thug gut feeling that are ruling supreme here. Relevant facts are completely devoid in your argument.
  12. Does Insite produce their own heroin (and cocaine, and morphine)?
  13. Insite is facilitating and propagating criminal activity. Not just by the addicts, but through the production and distribution of heroin by criminal organizations. Organizations that are in turn involved in all kinds of other crimes related to that business including burglaries and murders.
  14. Drug addicts are scientists now?
  15. Add this to the long list of leftard activist decisions by Canada's judicial system. The government has a responsibility to provide benefits for criminals? What's next? Hotel rooms for rapists?
  16. That depends. I'm expecting to travel to at least 3 other countries in the next 4 months, so I'm not concerned personally, but I do know people whose only "international" travel is a shopping trip to Grand Forks. For them to have to pay the kinds of prices being speculated in the OP is ridiculous.
  17. It certainly wasn't my metric going in. A few weeks there have changed my perspective a bit.
  18. I don't feel any more or less safe. Just more inconvenienced. I was pleasantly surprised when I flew to Cuba in January to be able to bring my own drinks on the plane and not be scanned or groped by anyone. The "totalitarian" country afforded its guests more freedom than the "land of the free" does.
  19. You get a lot of bears in your bedroom?
  20. Cable TV is a huge waste of money. My 50" Plasma screen, an Apple TV that wirelessly syncs to my iTunes library, and a Netflix account, and I've got more options than I could ever watch. If I really wanted the current shows, I could always connect an HDMI cable from my Mac to the Plasma.
  21. I've driven to Vancouver many times, and I've never paid a toll, that I know for sure. I generally went north in BC first (Smithers, Terrace, Prince Rupert, up into Alaska, etc), then ventured south from there. I would not count being charged for a Ferry as a toll. I guess it is, but I would expect to pay for that. I don't expect to pay to drive on a road.
  22. We compare our system to the American one because it's the one we are most familiar with. It's the only other system that is right next door.
  23. Thank God we don't have toll booths in Manitoba. Paying once would be bad enough, but what you describe sounds like extortion. The funny thing is, I've driven coast to coast in both Canada and the U.S., and I don't even remember ever seeing a toll booth. Makes me wonder if I've obliviously just driven past one and managed to get away with it.
  24. When in Winnipeg, be prepared for the traffic lights. A green arrow pointing to a red light tends to confuse out of towners. As does traffic in both directions using the same turning lane on St. james.
  25. Wow. Israel lied about killing people? Shocking.
