OTTAWA -- Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney kicked sand Tuesday on NDP claims that Conservative economic policies are stifling job creation and growth. Some NDP members on the Commons finance committee tried to bait Carney into rubber stamping their daily line in the House that Prime Minister Stephen Harper has mangled the economy during the ongoing global downturn. But Carney, who wears a second hat as chairman of the financial stability board for G-20 countries, said Canada is weathering the storm better than others hit hard by the European situation and a sluggish U.S. recovery. He said that while belt tightening, austerity measures and spending cuts have different impacts from sector to sector, it's to be expected. "That's frequently the case in an expansion in a recession and subsequent recovery. Some sectors are affected differentially." On the job front, Carney said the 430,000 jobs that were lost during the 2008-2009 financial collapse have been recovered and that an additional 380,000 jobs have been added to the workforce for a total of 810,000. Well harper won a majority and will get the next one, so really who gives a shit about what some child like reporters think. They tried and harper beat them and the people know it. So it is ALL up to the press to smooth things out with the PMO.

Notice last week in the papers a chinese airplane part company lost their contracts, because they could not keep up. The company moved it's business to Ireland, a country with one of the lowest coporate taxes in the world.

I live in a area that is full of farms, berries , apples and veggies and they have to bring in foriegn workers to pick it, while able bodied young people sit on the main street all summer doing nothing but getting into trouble. Time to force these people to work when the jobs are available. I worked farms growing up and friends went off to pick tobacco. The canadian has become very lazy.

That is a tough question. Some yes, others no. You have city police dealing with pretty shitty stuff and if they can not handle it ,there will be problems,then police in small towns like I live in, have it made in spades. Military ,if you are just a desk jockey and don't get invovled in foriegn tours ,then why not. You could have a lower age for them, but not early 50's when it comes to teachers.
