Cindy Sheehan is exploiting her son's death. She is despicable. She is linked up with anti-semites and the loathsome Code Pink(os) group - which raised $600,000 for the Islamofascists in Fallujah just before the US went in and whipped their asses. Then Code Pink(os) were caught on videotape by CNS News at Walter Reed Hospital with mock caskets and protesting with obnoxious signs like "Maimed for Lies" and "Enlist here and die for Halliburton." The liberal media had refused to report this. She said that the Islamofascists who were coming in from other countries to subvert Iraq's attempt at building a democracy are "freedom fighters". Her anti-Israel remarks have put neo-nazi groups (Stormfront and Vanguard) on her side, as both have went down to Crawford to throw their support behind her. Her group has taken crosses of soldiers to use for their political agenda. Many families of fallen soldiers have had to pull the crosses out of the ground and take them back. She is not content ot exploit her son; she is exploiting other people's sons and daughters. Hence Fort Qualls being set up at Crawford And the liberal media is silent. There are not that many people at Camp Casey and the media has said little about the thousands of counter-protesters at Crawford. Cindy Sheehan is a phony as these two pictures prove.

I don't think anyone would dispute that notion, least of all those with loved ones in th emilitary. the question is, however, whther they died for a good reason. Did Casey Sheehan's death make his country safer? Did he help stop the threat of WMD (oops!) ? And don't give me any bunk about turning Iraq into a beacon for democracy in teh region balah blah blah. The government isn't even buying that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why do you persist in linking to liberal newspapers that refuse to give any names of these "US officials"? There is not one name from the Bush administration in that article.

U.S. Army recruitment lagging
Montgomery Burns replied to Black Dog's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Retention/re-enlistments are above historical averages. Doesn't sound like a dispirited military. Sounds like a military that believes they are doing something worthwhile. And the recruitment rates, while not spectacular, are good when you consider that the US economy is in excellent shape, and there is a good chance that joining up means a tour in Iraq. -
Pat Robertson Calls For Chavez To Die
Montgomery Burns replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Doesn't Pat Robertson know that only the "progressives" at Air America are allowed to call for the assassination of world leaders (they called for Bush's assassination twice)? -
Black Dog: Actually I do. And anyone with reading comprehension skills knows what he wrote:. "However, the opinion testimony of the plaintiffs' experts is sufficient to meet plaintiffs' burden that Iraq collaborated in or supported bin Laden/al Qaeda's terrorist acts of September 11. Although these experts provided few actual facts of any material support that Iraq actually provided, their opinions, coupled with their qualifications as experts on this issue, provide a sufficient basis for a reasonable jury to draw inferences which could lead to the conclusion that Iraq provided material support to al Qaeda and that it did so with knowledge and intent to further al Qaeda's criminal acts" 262 F.Supp.2d 217, 232. Expert's opinions are dismissed in court cases? Only in the Bizarro world you live in. Hahahaha. No-name judge. More slurs against anyone who doesn't agree with Black Dog. Hahahaha. More slurs against anyone who doesn't agree with Black Dog. 9/11 commission Chair Thomas Kean said, "Were there contacts between al-Qaida and Iraq? Yes. Some of them were shadowy, but they were there." "There were connections between al-Qaida and Saddam Hussein's government. We don't disagree with that," said commission Vice Chair Lee Hamilton. The 9/11 commission staff report details a series of contacts between Saddam Hussein's regime and Osama bin Laden. The report in effect confirms everything Colin Powell said about Iraq/al-Qaida ties in his February 2003 presentation to the UN. Nazi Germany and Tojo's Japan had a "collaborative relationship" before and during WW II which was, to put it mildly, troublesome for the US, even though there is "no credible evidence" that Hitler was involved in planning the attack on Pearl Harbor. But the fact is that the only legal ruling concluded that a reasonable jury would conclude that Iraq was involved in 9/11. We will probably never know 100%, but in this day and age of Islamic terrorism, Bush correctly concluded that one cannot sit back and demand DNA or photographic evidence, like Black Dogg appers to be suggesting. Says the guy who linked to a Washington Monthly article titled "Laurie Mylroie: The Neocons' favorite conspiracy theorist. Btw, I like their Mission Statement: Are you fed up with the imperial Bush White House? The timid Democrats? The spinnable national media? Oh, that legendary biased rightwing national media. Well, now is the time to join people such as Warren Buffett, Paul Krugman, Garry Trudeau, Molly Ivins, All raving lunatics except for Warren Buffet. Bill Clinton, Impeached for lying under oath and the producers of "60 Minutes" Of fake memos infamy. Real credible source there. And I love how the left turns against their own (Harvard's Mylroie and the NYT) when something is reported that they don't like. A mural at a military base in Iraq. Iraq allowed Al Qaeda to use his terrorist training camp at Salman Pak (before 9/11) which featured a passenger jet on which Al Qaeda terrorists sharpened their air piracy skills. And it is the purest of coincidence that Saddam put his troops on highest military alert since the Gulf war two weeks before the suicide attacks on 9/11. If there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever, where is your proof? Why do I get the feeling that Black Dogg believes that OJ never murdered Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman? Nonsense. They said over and over again that there were ties between the two. I suggest getting your news from other sources besides the CBC. They have said it over and over again. Where have you been?

A judge's opinion has no legal merit? Okay. And because of the "laeger" offense, said judge should be impeached? Wow.
-
They'll find some way to blame it on President Bush.

MapleBear: Oh yes. Overthrowing the Talibunnies and Saddam, liberating 50 million people, and having both countries participate in elections is an "assault on democracy".

Is everyone so racist in the US?
Montgomery Burns replied to baden's topic in Canada / United States Relations
I doubt that Americans are any more racist than Canadians. I am shocked at how many Canadians freely hurl racist statements at Indians. And Canada does have a shockingly high number of racist groups for a country with only 32 million people: The Heritage Front, The Nationalist Party of Canada, Stormfront Canada, The National Action Party, The Church of the Creator, The Identity Church, Citizens for Foreign Aid Reform, Canadian National Front, White Power, Rock Against Communism, The Aryan Nations, Anglo Society, Northern Hammerskins, International National Socialist Party, Tri-City Skins, Canadian Ethnic Cleansing Team, White Power Youth Crew, The Western Guard, White Aryan Resistance, Canadian Heritage Alliance, and the KKK. -
Liberal Election Strategy
Montgomery Burns replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The Liberals will use an anti-American strategy. It worked for Gerhard Schroder and it will likely work for the liberals. Anything that Harper wants to do will be called "American" by the Liberals and Canada's liberal media. Eg, I was watching Global TV a couple of weeks back and they had a feature on about extreme weather. They showed footage of floods, tornados, etc. Then a voice-over asked what was responsible for these conditions. They then showed footage of Bush at a meeting and the voice-over said that the fault of extreme weather is the current US administration for not signing Kyoto. The frightening thing is that Global is the most balanced of the 3 networks. I expect Paul Martin and the Librano$ to use tactics such as the above. -

Apparently you can't spell. You do not spell BBC B-u-s-h.

Yes, a show 'by idiots, for idiots' is bound to do well down there. How are their ratings compared to inane pap such as 'Survivor' or 'Seinfeld'? That is because there is a difference, depending on the circumstances. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahhh yes. It is just the purest of coincidence that those "diots" became the most powerful country in the world, economically, militarily, and culturally. Only an idiot would consider that a coincidence. And people who deliberately target and blow up innocents, are terrorists. Period.
-
Speaking of being behind the times, perhaps you could have read some of the thread, rather than quoting a months-old post. The CIA deemed the leak 'criminal' enough to ask the FBI to begin official procedings after their own investigation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The CIA asked the FBI to investigate the "possible" leak. The fact is that Valerie Wilson was a desk jockey for the past few years and even posed for a Vanity Fair shoot. Get with the times, indeed.

Pat Robertson Calls For Chavez To Die
Montgomery Burns replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Mirror, Chavez is a dangerous communist. He is using his oil wealth to prop up Castro and promote communism in Central and South America. Frankly, your support for him makes one conclude that you support this murderous ideology (no ideology killed more innocents during the 20th century than communism). -
I don't miss Canada's state-run taxpayer-funded Soviet-style news station in the least. It got so tiring listening to their anti-Israel anti-America hard-left propaganda. I went to their forums one time and used the word "terrorist" when describing a displaced Arab from Jordan (some call them Palestinians) who blew up a busload of Israeli schoolchildren. The moderator deleted the word "terrrorist". CBC Newsworld was revolting in their bias. How many times did you ever see a conservative or libertarian on Newsworld? It is infuriating that Canadian conservatives are forced to fund the horrid CBC. Since the Liberal Party lifted its 5 year ban of the Fox News Channel, I have watched little else. What a refreshing change. Although their reporting is basically the same as the other channels (they have the same annoying habit of referring to terrorists as insurgents), they actually have conservative pundits. And the liberals who aren't scared to appear on Fox News (O'Reilly has been calling out Howard Dean for months, and Mother Sheehan backed out of an appearance) actually are forced to defend their views; they don't get the softball questions that they do on other channels. No wonder Fox News gets higher ratings than CNN, CNN Headline News, MSNBC, and CNBC combined. I have to chuckle when I see liberals raging about Hannity & Colmes. The show has one liberal and one conservative, but to liberals that is unfair.

Real Reason America Went To War
Montgomery Burns replied to KalosSkilo's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The real reason America went to war is well known to anyone who watches Fox News or reads the Wall Street Journal. Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq The above is the title of a resolution passed by both the House and the Senate, with Democrat as well as Republican majorities. It has a total of 23 clauses. These 23 clauses spell out the rationale for the war. Out of all 23 clauses, there are only 2 that even mention stockpiles of WMD. What the resolution did stress – in 12 separate clauses – were 16 UN resolutions that that Saddam had ignored or defied. Bill Clinton never even sought congressional approval (or UN approval) when he went to war in Kosovo (a country that was no threat to the US whatsoever), but that didn't seem to bother Democrats. -
Valerie Wilson hasn't been a covert CIA operative for 6 years. Anyone could see her as she drove to work - between photo shoots for Vanity Fair. She has been working at a desk job for years. This is just another liberal wet dream.

Pat Robertson Calls For Chavez To Die
Montgomery Burns replied to mirror's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Robertson is correct that Chavez should be taken out. But he was a fool for going public about something that would be covert. -
Iraq was not hosting Zarqawi (after the US overthrew the Taliban), the well-known Al Qaeda operative, and did not give him aid, comfort, and medical treatment. Iraq was not the only country in the world in which Al Qaeda was able to field brigade-sized formations in 2003, and they did not precisely do that in northern Iraq, under the banner of Ansar al Islam. Abdul Yasin, one of the two men who bombed the World Trade Center in 1993, was not traced to a Baghdad apartment and placed on the Ba'athist payroll. Zawahiri, Al Qaeda's 2nd in command, was not invited to a conference in Iraq by a member of Iraq's cabinet. Another of Saddam's cabinet members did not offer him sanctuary in Iraq in 1999, well after the African embassy bombings. And of course, even though Al Qaeda was in Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Spain, Morocco, Lybia, Algeria, Palestine, Israel, and the U.S., the U.K., and the Phillipines, somehow Al Qaeda was miraculously absent from Iraq. But according to Eureka, "Baer should be removed from the Bench not cited as support for the proven false story of Al Qaeda in Iraq." No wonder even your leftwing buddies here refused to comment on your ludicrous statement. How can you be so blindly ignorant of Al Qaeda's ties with Iraq?

Ahhh, Clinton-appointed federal Judge Harold Baer is stoopid. If only he had listened to Black Dogg! And Myrolie - from the liberal NYT - is a crackpot! I love it when the left turns on their own when they are trapped. Judge Baer is stoopid. And that large mural found in the police state of Iraq showing planes flying into the Twin Towers was done behind the back of Saddam. And it is the purest of coincidence that Saddam put his troops on highest military alert since the Gulf war two weeks before the suicide attacks on 9/11. Black Dogg casually dismisses this and insists that he is sure that there was no connection between Saddam and 9/11. IF only he would offer up some proof... Do you honestly think that Saddam had no idea that terrorists and terrorist groups were running around in the country he ruled with an iron fist? Now who is the dim one? As for the Election Eve surprise by the liberal NYT on the 377 tons of weapons stolen right under the noses of the US: Whoops The missing weapons story has holes big enough to drive a truck through it, the media quickly backed off the story, but Black Dogg insists it is true. Keep your mantras coming. I do find them amusing.
-
Judge Baer said it offered enough proof to persuade a reasonable jury. His ruling does not provide "absolute proof". But the very nature of the murky world of intelligence and counter-intelligence makes it hard - at the best of times - to come up with "absolute proof." I'm unsure why you refer to Laurie Mylroie as a rightwinger. She was a member of Clinton's own team on Iraqi affairs.

Oh, that Karl Rove is a cunning bastard. What flavor Kool-Aid do you drink? In the Congressional Record of March 27, 1986 (S3594) is the following from Kerry: Mr. President, I remember Christmas of 1968, sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by the Vietnamese, Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and I heard the President of the United States [Richard Nixon] telling the American people I was not there, that our troops were not in Cambodia. I have that memory which is seared into my brain, that says to me, before we send another generation into harm’s way, we have a responsibility in the United States Senate to go the last step, to make the best effort possible in order to avoid that kind of conflict. First of all, on December 25, 1968, Lyndon Johnson was still President of the US and would continue to be until Nixon was sworn into office on January 20, 1969. Next, Kerry could not have been "in" Cambodia at that stage of the war. Even his two adoring crewmates – Michael Medeiros and James Wassel - have disputed that claim. In December 1968, no US Navy patrol craft would be ordered or authorized to penetrate Cambodian waters. It just did not happen. And the line about being fired at by the "Khmer Rouge," that was the Cambodian Communists, led by Khieu Samphan. Unfortunately for Kerry, that fighting force wasn’t even formed yet when Kerry had his pipe dream. The Khmer Rouge came about after the American CIA engineered the overthrow of Prince Sihanouk in 1970. John Kerry’s biographer Douglas Brinkley tried to do damage control by claiming that Kerry was supposedly just mistaken about the date of his Christmas in Cambodia experience: Kerry campaign backtracks on first Purple Heart. No wonder Kerry wouldn't sign Standard Form 180 - after he promised he would. And one has to wonder...what else is he hiding? Wrong. I SAW the ads with my own eyes on the Internet. MOVEON.ORG STILL HOME TO BUSH/HITLER AD Unfortunately Moveon.org has moved the Bush/Hitler ad again. You wrote: I contend that getting 11,572,717 more votes in your second term than in your first is not one of the worst election performances by an incumbent president in US history. Indeed, that is a greater increase than even the legendary Ronald Reagan (Republican) got in his second term. In recent memory, only Richard Nixon (Republican) had a larger increase in his second term than Bush did. Hoover was never an incumbent. He was only president for one term. I am going to start charging you $$$ for constantly having to educate you.

NEW YORK — A federal judge in New York City on Wednesday found Iraq among those liable for the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and awarded nearly $104 million to the families of two men who died in the World Trade Center. The ruling by U.S. District Judge Harold Baer marked the first time that a court had pinned some blame for the attacks on Iraq. A court of law came up with this ruling. The Black Dog got dogged again. Black Dog's quote... ...is about no credible evidence that Al Qaeda and Iraq cooperated on attacks against the US during the 1990s.. Didn't you bother to read your own link or did you think that you could pull a fast one? Black Dog busted again. And you must have missed this part from Page 3 of the report: With al Qaeda as its foundation, Bin Ladin sought to build a broader Islamic army that also included terrorist groups from Egypt, Libya, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Oman, Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Somalia and Eritrea. Not all groups from these states agreed to join, but at least one from each did. With a multinational council intended to promote common goals, coordinate targeting and authorize asset sharing for terrorist operations, this Islamic force represented a new level of collaboration among diverse terrorist groups. Not Joshua *ugh* Marshall's version. There never were was 380 tons of explosives that disappeared under the US military's nose. Hell, the Iraqi interim govt said so; the US said so and credible eyewitnesses on both sides said that Saddam had moved them before the invasion. Indeed NBC News' embedded reporter put the NY Times claim to rest. You should pay me for having to continuously educate you.
