We'll see but so far Chavez has said democracy has spoken and the world will see the country as truly democratic. But, as we see in this country, democracy is as democracy does and so far our government isn't the most democratic in the world either by a long shot.

This does not surprise me. I've said many times that Harper cares nothing for the "cause" and plight of Afghani's or of Afghanistan, or of our military for that matter. He uses them all to raise his "personal" profile internationally by playing with the big boys.

The key word is IF. IF there is technology to ensure no waste, and there would be none to repatriate, then what the hell was Lunn talking about - just trying to be the tuffie? But IF there is waste and Canada signed on to the treaty specifically stating waste would be repatriated then he misled the house didn't he (or is this government going to not honour the very treaty they signed onto)? If you would honestly engage you would find that others would honestly engage you. There is plenty of Canadiana and/or Americana or any other ana in the world that could be discussed honestly. Both the environment Minions have denied turning their backs on Kyoto; they say that while they turn their backs on any meaningful climate change action. They have to say this as Parliament voted to keep Kyoto. The best they can do is say that the targets are unmeetable (which they now are). Openness, transparency and accountability are buzzwords the HarperCons-ervatives throw around but they do not really know what they mean. It's all a smoke screen like so much else.
